To be fully American is to embrace fully the American Ideal; the hope, the idea and the ideology that makes America America. The details of all that are laid out elsewhere in this site. You can see them in the Foundational Principles, in the Constitutional Principles and in the American Ideology page, among many others herein.
The one truly unique aspect of America that stands out from all other nations throughout human history is that America is the first nation ever intended, designed and Constituted to be a Classless Society. No Ruling Class; no Royal Class; no Noble Class; no Caste System. Every citizen, from the President on down, stands equal to every other citizen under the law. We are subject not to any man, but to the law. The law rules. Thus, we stand in a Nation of Laws, and not merely of men.
In every other nation, someone stands apart from the law, immune to the law, or is the law.
The American Constitutional Government is the first national government in history designed to protect the citizenry from its own government. Citizen rights are specifically spelled out in law, and the government, which is established by the citizenry and may be taken down by the citizenry, is legally prohibited from infringing upon those citizen rights.
At the core of the American ideal are the "Foundational" human rights from Natural Law, authored by God. They are inalienable rights, which cannot be taken away by man. These are, of course, the right to equal treatment by the law, the right to Life, the right to Liberty, and the right to the independent pursuit of happiness, which translates into the founding of families and the earning or legal acquisition, ownership and accumulation of private property.
These are declared to be "self evident" human rights, not merely unique American citizen rights. Americans recognize them in all human beings wherever they may reside. They attach to "All Men".
Constitutional Rights, however, are unique to American Citizens, for they are spelled out in the Constitution and/or Bill of Rights and other Amendments to the Constitution. The Constitution is the Supreme Civil Law of the United States of America, and it pertains to the Government, citizenry and territories of the USA alone.
The citizen liberating and citizen rights protecting nature of the Constitution is what produced the "Exceptionalism" of the American entrepreneurial spirit, the advancement of knowledge in all fields of study and the building of a national economic engine the likes of which had never previously existed.
American Exceptionalism is the unavoidable truth Marxists cannot handle. The deep fraud of Marxism is intended to fool the new disciple into believing, primarily, three things:
- Believing that Marxism is designed and intended to eliminate "Classes" of people and make everyone equal in wealth (i.e., private property) and social status.
- That these "Classes" of people are created by an evil system of man called Capitalism in which all wealth (i.e., private property) is held by a few to the disadvantage of the many. Hence, the existence of the "Propertied Class" and the "Worker Class".
- That violence and war are never, ever justified, except in one single instance: There is to be no war but class war, fought to eliminate these Capitalistic Classes of men, make all men equal in wealth (i.e., private property) and thus achieve man-made worldly perfection in global society.
Marxism says it can be done, and it should be done, and that it has only your best interests at heart. But Marxism is a lie. Let's look at the Truth behind these three major frauds that Marxism promotes:
- The real hidden goal of Marxism is the achievement of dictatorship, by any means necessary. Ideally, the Dictator sits atop a giant Ruling Class of bureaucracies. At the bottom layer of these bureaucracies are millions of petty bureaucrats riding herd on the Ruled Class, and fiercely directing and controlling all the mundane details of the living of citizen life, by force of law.
- Capitalism is not a designed or controlled system of man, but a purely natural thing, called the Free Market. It comes into being when and where men enjoy liberty, the right to own private property and the ability to do commercial transactions with each other. Economic factors such as quality and quantity of goods and services, prices, cost of labor, supply of money, interest on money, etc., are all automatically set by the natural laws of supply and demand. To whatever degree any of these free market factors are "controlled" by anyone, to that same degree does it cease to be a free market = Capitalism.
- Evil exists in the world. War is justified whenever evil begins to encroach on good. It may be reasonably argued that war against evil is justified so long as evil exists.
Why are we talking about Marxism when this is supposed to be about being American? Because Marxism - the absolute antithesis of the American Ideal - is now actually running the entire American government, completely unopposed by anyone.
Marxism, the mortal enemy of America as Founded and as Constituted, is the predominant guiding ideology of many if not most holders of the highest political offices in America. Officers who swore a loyalty oath to protect the Constitution against America's enemies foreign and domestic, in their very oaths of office. In the Senate, in the House, in the Presidency and in the Court.
I submit that Marxist ideology is, in and of itself, a domestic enemy of the American Constitution. There is no small part of Marxist ideology that is not antagonistic to the liberty of man and not opposed to the American Constitution as written.
The American and the Marxist are mortal enemies. They represent two ideologies that are diametrically opposed to each other. At the root of the animus is the American insistence upon the rights to Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness up against the Marxist insistence on the forced collectivization of property and people.
The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property. --Karl Marx.
In all these movements, they bring to the front, as the leading
question in each, the property question, no matter what its degree of
development at the time. --Communist Manifesto.
Marxism quite openly seeks the overthrow of all existing social constructs, and that includes the American Constitution.
The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They
openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible
overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes
tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose
but their chains. They have a world to win. --Communist Manifesto.
How, exactly, did Marxist ideology worm its way so successfully into American culture that it isn't even recognized as the deadly enemy to freedom that it is?
Little by little.
It is our duty to inculcate in the minds of nations the theories of international friendship, pacifism, and disarmament, encouraging their resistance to military appropriations and training, without ever relaxing our own efforts in building our military equipment. --Rykov.

The Soviet Collapse in 1991 was an economic collapse, not an ideological one. It is a potentially fatal error to believe that Communism itself ended. Marxism lives on, unchanged, not even tempered by failure. Russia simply moved to a more Fascistic or National Socialist (Crony Capitalist) form of Marxism than Communism, but the government still calls itself Communist and the Communist Party hasn't gone anywhere. The goals remain the same. We have changed; the Russian government has not. It remains a ruthless dictatorship over a vast bureaucracy, as it existed under Stalin, and even as it existed under Hitler. There was little or no difference. Ideologically, nothing has changed in Russia.
Let us look at how, exactly, this alien and enemy ideology gained such a strong hold over the collective American psyche as to gain and hold enough political clout to elect, appoint and approve it's strongest ideologues into the highest American offices.
The Enlightenment and Modernism popularized the elitist sophistry of the dismissal of God from all "reasoned" discussion. And dismissal of the existence of God eventually brings on the dismissal of the existence of evil, and the dismissal of all absolutes, including moral absolutes. The dismissal of the existence of absolute Truth eliminates any preexisting sense of right and wrong, which is the basis of Common Sense. Leaving Nonsense in its wake. Dismissal of absolute truth also led to the dismissal of the Scientific Method, in favor of Science By Consensus, or, Scientism.
Out of this elitist hodge-podge of misguided sophistry emerged Marxism, exploding into violence among the masses, and into the latest fad among the "intellectuals" of the day, with the 1848 publication of Marx's Manifesto. Academicians were (and are) particularly susceptible to the recruiting frauds of Marxism, because their livelihoods depend more upon theory than substance. Leading academics did more to advance Marxist theory, through formal education, than any Revolutionary figures, including even Lenin.
Educators make Marxists of their pupils. Here's what we said about it in the Marxism page:
Between the Great Wars, several prominent Marxists and Freudian sexologists under the Italian Antonio Gramsci, known collectively as the Frankfurt School, tried to analyze the reasons that the Communist revolutions in Germany, Austria, Bavaria, Hungary and elsewhere failed so miserably. They concluded that direct seizure of political power was not possible in most places, and formulated a new and slower, but more certain path to world Communism.
If direct overthrow of governments could not succeed, then Marxism must embark on a long term mission advocating, promoting and inciting ongoing cultural revolution, whose aim is to transform all dimensions of every day life everywhere, meanwhile educationally building up the socio-psychological basis for Socialism long before the seizure of power is begun. Evolution as opposed to revolution, but a planned and controlled evolution, as opposed to any kind of natural evolution.
A group of Communists founded the Institute for Social Research at the University of Frankfurt in Germany in 1923, and the new mission of Marxism began. Opposition to Western teaching began with strong impetus from Soviet trained Georg Lukacs, who truly hated Western Civilization. Probably had a bad teacher. Lukacs and the institute created ways to destroy Western man’s relationship with religion and with established principles of reason, and to induce in students a sense of utter hopelessness and alienation.
Direct results of educational changes during this period are shown in the dismal and depressing art that was popularized on both sides of the Atlantic. The main idea of Marxism at this point was to create a “new barbarian” as a prerequisite for true revolution. In 1934 the Frankfurt Group became affiliated with Columbia University, where it renamed itself the International Institute of Social Research, and from which base it spread its influence throughout academia, radio, and eventually, television.
Marxism advanced after the second great war as the Frankfurt Group published many works dealing with psychology, character alteration, and the need to “reeducate” people for purposes of social change. They used the revolutionary technique of creating mythical and exaggerated straw villains, from which they would save mankind, if mankind would only listen to them. One of Marxism's mythical villains was, and is, “Authoritarian Personality.” This straw villain enabled them to ridicule the authoritarian patriarchal family, the authoritarian father, authoritarian religion, authoritarian education, authoritarian government, and authoritarian culture.
Imagine that. Marxism, representing as it does the most authoritarian widespread thinking ever done in the history of man, touts itself as the opponent of authoritarianism, and the savior of the victims of authoritarianism.
Two of Marxism's original Frankfurt Group, Eric Fromm and Abraham Maslow, were widely publicized, popularized and promoted in the press during the 60s and 70s. They were sowing the seeds of future revolution. Fromm described his ideal, admirable and non-authoritarian “revolutionary” this way:
“The revolutionary is the man who has emancipated himself from ties of blood and soil, from his mother and his father, from special loyalties to state, class, race, party, or religion.”
Doesn't that paint a pretty picture?
Few people in history had more impact on the education of educators – the shaping of future teachers – than John Dewey, Eric Fromm and Abaraham Maslow. Before the masses could be secularized - religiously cleansed - their teachers would need to be secularized and separated from all religious thought and influence. The main objective of these “thinkers” was to move formal education more away from producing scholars, in the classical sense of that term, and more toward producing anarchistic, sociopathic time-bombs such as their “revolutionary” described above.
Maslow sought to develop an educational revolution in which young people would have their beliefs and value systems reshaped to ensure that they are not potential “authoritarians.” God forbid. And as time goes on it becomes more clear and obvious that Socialist educators have no interest whatsoever in classical educational subjects. Language, mathematics, sciences, the arts and all other classical subjects are simply tag-alongs and while-you’re-at-its and basic inconveniences, unless they can be manipulated to further the ultimate mission; the real mission of Marxism in education is social and societal change, with the ultimate Socialist goal being the destruction of Democracy, Capitalism and of classical freedom.
And even Marxism itself is seen only as a point along the screwy Socialist view of social and economic “evolution;” the next step after that is, of course, leaderless, authority-less, government-less, absolute anarchy. Yes, my very dear, innocent, doubtful reader, Socialists - even those with lots of letters after their names - really are that screwy. Whether they will succeed or not remains to be seen; based solely on history and on the past performance all of the grand social plans pushed by Socialists, they are likely to ultimately achieve something very nearly opposite their original goals; but that is not to say that their efforts will not also do incalculable, immeasurable harm to society first.
If you wondered about the beginnings or the root source of such educational nonsense as Common Core, parts of the UN's Agenda 21, etc., well, there it is. Leading academics, not only here, but all over the world, are steeped in this garbage. They believe it, and they teach it. Marxism owns the educational establishment.
And today, we can say that Marxism owns the whole of the News Media, and the whole of the SLIMC1 .
Here's where that began (quoting from the Progressive America page):
Woodrow Wilson was the Marxist President who first seduced the previously antagonistic and watchful media, and actually went into partnership with them. Special treatment, special clearances, special access, White House accommodations and office space, inclusion in traveling entourages, big annual press appreciation dinners and gala events, and on, and on, and on. He made them an integral part of his administration, and made them accepted members of Washington high society.
They have been an integral part of the Marxocrat Party ever since. The Party loves them, shows it in many ways, and they love the Party right back. Indeed, they are nearly all members of the same political Party. The mainstream news media is no longer an independent watch dog of government; they are part of the government, and thus, part of the problem. Like the Party that now owns and controls them, the mainstream news media attacks the Republicrat Party, but not so much as it attacks simple conservatism and Constitutionalism, and objective truth, wherever they may be found.
Thus, the News Media was seduced, rather than originally defrauded or indoctrinated into Marxism. But make no mistake about it: our News Media is Marxist to the core. They will side with Redistributionism over private property every time, without question. (Exempting their own private property, of course.) Wilson led the News Media, and the Democrat Party, into the transition from American ideology into Marxist ideology. It may be argued that the News Media made the full transition even before the whole Democrat Party morphed into the Marxocrat Party.
Today we have a whole education system, a whole news media and a whole political Party that are Marxist to the core, and thus, anti-American to the core. But that's not all; not be a long shot.
"Good Guy" Communism was (and still is) publicly promoted a:
- Our allied enemy against Nazi/Fascism.
- The best hope for a future perfect world.
The fact that Nazi/Fascism is nothing but a variant of Communism mixed well with Crony Capitalism is not even recognized by most committed Marxists today. Dictatorship by another name remains dictatorship.
During the Spanish Civil War - which was a Communist versus Fascist war - newly minted disciples of Marxism all over the world had to correspond with their professors to find out what they were. Such academic confusion. They didn't know whether they were Communists or Fascists. All they knew what that they hated the invented Marxist straw villain Capitalism. In point of fact, it didn't really matter which they were. Both were Marxist. Both were Revolutionary. Both opposed the status quo, whatever it was.
But when Hitler violated his non-aggression pact with Stalin, beginning World War II just days after signing it, but then invaded Russia - from that point on, in America and most of the West, Communism was the "Good Guy" and Fascism was the "Bad Guy". We were aligned against Germany, Italy and Japan in WWII, and allied with Russia. Joseph Stalin, one of history's worst mass murderers and most ruthless dictators, was portrayed in America as "Uncle Joe" right alongside Uncle Sam.
Charlie Chaplin, who was, coincidentally, a Communist and perhaps the funniest comedian who ever lived, made an anti-Fascist movie called The Great Dictator. In it, he lampooned Mussolini and Hitler, and delivered a spectacular speech attacking their Marxist ideology. But not that of Stalin. Although it was the same political ideology. Of course, America and Russia were allies at the time.
But nobody was looking at the true nature of Communist Russia. To this day, Marxists cover that nature up. They hide it from view. They dress it up and make it look nice. Even the planned and orchestrated Terror Famine perpetrated against the Ukraine was publicly hyped and falsified in history to be merely part of a lager Agrarian Reformation coupled with a purely coincidental crop failure.
Right.
The Last Voice of Reason against all this was Senator Joe McCarthy, who was virtually destroyed for his efforts in the now infamous McCarthy Hearings by an already Marxified Media. As it turns out, he was right in everything he said, and in everyone he accused. But it doesn't matter. The Marxist Media wrote the history of it, and nobody is going to change it. They have made McCarthy a laughing stock; a caricature of a blustering, Right Wing political wind bag, accusing everyone of being Communist.
The fact that he was right has been buried by the public caricature. They called it the "Red Scare" with the threat of "Black Lists" containing names of Communists in entertainment, in news media, in sensitive defense areas and even in government.
People who tried to warn of Communist infiltration were laughed at for "seeing a Communist under every bed". Why, there's nothing wrong with Communism. If you don't like a Communist, then don't vote for him. It was horrible, horrible to contemplate the possibility that a Communist might be denied a job in some area of work just because he was a Communist.
As a direct result of the Marxist destruction and lampooning of the McCarthy Hearings, we now have:
- An Entertainment Industry with a "second purpose" of indoctrinating the public with anti-Americanism and a favorable view of Marxism, through movies, music, comedy, etc.
- A News Media with a "second purpose" of propagandizing the public with anti-Americanism and a favorable view of Marxism, in slanted news reporting.
- An Education Establishment with a "second Purpose" of pure anti-American, pro-Marxist indoctrination.
- A whole Political Party dominated by anti-American Marxism.
- A government loaded down with anti-American Marxist ideologues in all areas of operation, including the legislative, executive and judicial branches.
- A lower court system infected with anti-American Marxist jurists.
- An anti-American Marxist President of the United States.
How's all that working out for us so far?
Political Party Animals. We referenced George Washington's warning against the formation of Political Parties in the Political Parties page. He was right. Political Parties become entities unto themselves, with a "purpose for being" morphing into the mere growth and expansion of the Party itself. Like a bureaucracy. It exists to exist, and to grow itself. That's why we still recommend a No Party America.
But, all nations have Political Parties, you say.
So what?
The last thing America needs is a focal point for K Street Lobbyists, Crony Capitalists and various Advocacy Groups vying for political favor and competing with each other for the purchase of politicians.
It may be seen that today's Marxocrat Party doesn't give a damn about the Constitution or the proper working of the federal government. What it gives a damn about is the advance of Marxism.
Obviously, the Republicrat Party doesn't give a damn about the Constitution either. It exists to schmooze Crony Capitalists and Special Interest Groups, be in with the in crowd, run contests and make megabucks for its own professional operatives, like Karl Rove. That's it.
As I've said elsewhere, judging by it's behavior, the current Republicrat Party leadership just about has to be Marxist. That's the only thing that would make sense. Even John Boehner and Mitch McConnell couldn't be so stupid as to be cooperating with Obamunism and Marxocrat Partyism in the purposeful systematic destruction of the Constitution, unknowingly.
So, Being American is what this page is supposed to be about. And that, simple as it is, was pretty much covered in the first eight or so paragraphs of this article. All the rest of it is covering that which is currently destroying us: Marxism.
Innocent, friendly, Marxism. Just another opinion among the many.
I hope this shows someone out there just what a pickle we are in.

If you doubt the Marxist thread that runs through everything that's happening today, the clues are everywhere to be seen. Alinkskyite groups have done their masterful work of grass-roots organizing for eventual revolution. But as time goes on, they become more bold in their endeavors, and more open in their actions, no longer afraid of being detected.
Remember the Guy Fawkes masks that seemingly came out of nowhere during the drugs, sex and revolution street parties of the Occupy Wall Street movement? This mask is an emblem of revenge; the wearer is supposed to be out for vengeance. It didn't take long for it to become a popular symbol of OWS, along with red flags of Communism and black flags of anarchy.
Well, guess what, it sort of miraculously appeared in the "Islamic Spring" revolutionary demonstrations in Egypt and the Middle East. What an amazing coinky-dinky.
And now, guess what, it again miraculously appears among all the "spontaneous" demonstrations theoretically spawned by the Michael Brown - Eric Garner shootings. Another amazing coinky-dinky.
Gee, you don't suppose these demonstrations have nothing to do with race, do you?
The people - including elected office holders and news anchors - who hold their hands up and say "Don't Shoot" or who say "I can't breath" are either too stupid to seek the truth, which is easy to find, or they are evil manipulative liars, in on the game.
When you point out the falseness of the charges, they respond that this is about a larger issue of police corruption toward blacks, which is yet another lie. When you point out that lie, they respond that the purpose of this demonstration is to change the whole corrupt system, which is yet another lie.
What they're out for is Marxist revolution against the whole of American society and the toppling of the Constitutional government. But they are either too dumb to know it or too evil to say it.
Whether all this will succeed or not depends upon how well they can maintain and grow the moron vote, who only pay attention to entertainment and the mainstream news media. The moron vote is the Marxocrat Party voter base. And with a President purposely holding the sovereign borders of the nation wide open and bringing more and more semi-literate dependent future voters in, the moron vote can only grow.
