All government, whether ecclesial or temporal, may be seen to be morphing into Government by Social Experiment.

Reality is fixed. So is morality. Morality is the social form of reality.
Objective Truth, i.e., Reality, is completely independent of the human mind. Reality cannot be changed; it may only be thought of differently, and erroneously. "Discoveries", if they be true, involve new realities previously unknown. They do not and cannot involve changes to fixed reality, or proper recognition of any change, in the absence of incontrovertible scientific proof. Man is not the master of reality.
Much of Objective Truth is naturally known; it is "written on the heart" of man, as Natural Law; it is generally instinctively known, and widely recognized as "Common Sense". In absolute agreement with this Natural Law is the Revealed Truth of Judaeo-Christian Religion, revealed to man by God, which, historically, formed the solid foundation of Western Civilization. And Western Civilization must be historically recognized as the most moral, civil, advanced and prosperous form of human civilization, except for whenever and wherever it went off the Judaeo-Christian religious rails.
Abandoning God necessarily means abandoning Reality.
The birth and development of the United States of America, thus far in history, has exemplified the very best example of a Western Civilization culture, certainly the most successful and advanced, and the most moral, at least for her first hundred years or so. Even in spite of her most glaring imperfections, the USA out-shined every other historical nation in citizen liberty and prosperity, economic wealth, charity and good neighborliness.
Examination of her founding Declaration of Independence shows that she was carefully founded upon Natural Law citizen rights, and that her Constitutional government was carefully formed to reinforce, strengthen and not restrict the citizenry's free worship, practice and exercise of any of her many preexisting Colonial Christian denominations which were already fixed in Colonial law, or any other denominations that might appear.
That was the Judaeo-Christian foundation that made America great.
But, of course, that was then, and this is now. Today, the American government, all three branches, quite consistently opposes the ancient morality of Western Civilization, and opposes even to the point of suppressing Judaeo-Christian morality. Other religions are tolerated, but Christianity is openly opposed; the only religion strongly defended by the American government today is Islam, possibly the only "religion" on earth irrevocably sworn to either dominate or destroy America and everything she stands for. That, they protect.
Today, our Marxocrat Party champions everything from artificial contraception to aborting people to advancing sodomite culture to transgenderism to pornography to significant-otherhood to promiscuity to every imaginable and unimaginable form of sexual licentiousness. They are obsessed with it. So are the courts. All of these "items" now have strong legal standing here. In America.
Under aggressive action of the Marxocrat Party, the American government, all three branches, are putting in super-human efforts to legislate the weather, stop farmers from using fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides, stop miners and drillers from producing fossil fuels, stop all nuclear power development, subsidize unworkable and/or unprofitable wind and solar power development, switch farmers from producing food to producing inefficient fuels, restrict free market products to plug the ozone holes, and on, and on, and on.
All based on untruth. Unreality. "Scientific Consensus" on nothing but scientific conjecture. And, incidentally, all unconstitutional. None of these items are to be found in Article One Section Eight, and thus they are "out of scope" and not to be legally addressed by any of the three branches of the federal government. Opinions only; no legislation, no executive action, no adjudication. Very simple; nothing to it.
Our sitting American government doesn't give a damn about that.
And these items are not all that are being rammed down our throats against our will; not by a long shot. Our Party-hijacked, now completely unconstitutional government is involving itself deeper and deeper into social engineering, in an obvious effort to "change" the citizenry. Every unconstitutional behavior-modifying law or tax or regulation is another social experiment. The goal is to change us from what we are to something else; the government, in its infinite wisdom, knows better than we what kind of people we should be.
I'm not going to waste a lot of time rehashing the glaringly obvious one of turning the independent citizenry into dependents of the state, through Marxist "redistribution" pretended to be done through taxing the rich to pay for "benefits" for the poor. The poor get nothing out of this old scam, other than ever increasing dependence upon the ever increasingly Marxist state, and an ever increasingly larger population of the poor.
The gas pump tax may be more than the actual pumped gas may cost, because the intent of raising prices through taxes on fuel is to train the citizenry to buy less of it. Of course, that means training the poor to buy less of it; the wealthier, including all government employees, hardly even notice the price changes.

You should see the pattern here. Taxes, and other regulations, are used to modify citizen behavior. Despite the fact that market produced goods such as motor fuel, tobacco, liquor, etc., are not listed in Article One Section Eight. Nothing is out of bounds for these people. Sugar. Salt. Kinds of light bulbs.
Whether something may be good for us or bad for us is not a federal case. It's our business, not theirs. Our own common sense and our own national religious morality should be the driving force in making such personal decisions, one citizen at a time. But, guess what, our national religious morality is under direct attack by the exact same government that is trying to herd us all into the behaviors they and they alone prefer. They seek to make themselves into a replacement for our religion.
In imitation of God, they make for us an entirely new reality.
All of this is just a reflection of the morally depraved culture of the Washington - New York elitist mentality that looks down on all the rest of us. New York "values" are highlighted by their Communist Mayor, their hatred of their own police, their embracing of Only Black Lives Matter, their love of abortion and sodomy, and an Archbishop who leads the sodomite parade. This is the new pseudo reality that infects our federal government.
And if you think this is only due to the destructive work of the Marxocrats, the Obamunists and the Marxified Media and Academia, the Republicrat Party, too, is in it up to their necks. As Rush Limbaugh recently pointed out, quoting a newly revealed Republicrat Party Political Strategy document that went along the same lines. Among the unconstitutional programs it recommended was to "embrace" the sodomite community vote. And the abortion vote. And the criminal alien vote. And the diversity vote. To attract everyone other than constitutional conservative voters, who were to be abandoned.
The Republicrat Party wants a new voter base. They now oppose us.
If you have wondered why the Republicrat Party does not resist any part of the Marxocrat Party agenda, other than with pre-election words, this is why. They are cooperating in America's decline, for the sake of remaining above it all, in the ruling class. That's the real reason. The Public reason, for Our consumption?
They're trying to make things better for us all. No, really.
It's a planet-saving, well intended, grand social experiment. See?

This is about power, money and greed. These people cannot get enough of either. The rest of us slobs must return to serfdom. When their own kin are effected by their policies we will see a different response, but in the meantime they will have done so much damage that it will be impossible to repair except through Divine Intervention. This will be the globe of the czars.
