Middle Eastern Moslems just don't get it. Their insipid fixation and obsession with the supposed unfairness of the results of past wars that they started and lost has turned them into, primarily, ineffective whiners and crybabies on the public world stage, and ineffective, sneaky, minor military terrorists behind the scenes. All that they have ever gained in their ongoing quarrel with Israel they have gained through negotiation, diplomacy, the good offices of third and fourth parties, and applied pressure from outside sources. They always broke their word. All that they have ever lost in their ongoing quarrel with Israel they have lost militarily.
As a military force, they are nothing. Collectively. All they have ever accomplished is to infuriate whole peoples and cultures and nations by using sneaky tactics to murder masses of innocent noncombatants. That's it. That's all they can do. And as time goes on, and the rest of the world is increasingly on to them, their ability even to do that diminishes, day by day. Until and unless they actually get a nuclear bomb of some kind, along with someone smart enough to tell them what to do with it, they are quite unlikely to even have the wherewithal to do another September Eleven.
They aren't even smart enough to know that their terrorism won't work, and in fact will induce the opposite of terror, which is, fury. The rest of the world learned it in World War II, but apparently the Moslems still can't figure it out. Hitler thought he could break the will of the English by the Blitz, but he didn't break it; he only strengthened it. The strategy, on both sides, was to "destroy the will of the people to resist", but in every case, it only filled the people with a terrible resolve. We learned, too late, that we won the war not by carpet-bombing German cities, but by systematically destroying the German war machine.
Since then, the West has concentrated, at enormous cost, on smart bomb and missile technology for the purpose of reducing collateral damage and harm to innocent bystanders, while Islam has concentrated on technologies that increase it. That's what they want. To kill just as many innocents at one time as is possible. That's what they are about.
In the Islam and the Jews page I talked about how Israel came to be, and, ultimately, the right of the Jews to stay there. It's the same principle by which Britain is British, and America is American, which is to say, by right of conquest. There was a war, and several more, all of which Israel won, which settled it. It doesn't matter whether anyone likes it or not, that's the way it is. Get over it.
And, in the Israel goes to war again blog I talked about what precipitated this new war, Israel's predicament, and the sources of some of the anti-Israel viewpoints from within America, and the rest of the West. Everybody, including the UN, says, cease fire, back up, negotiate, and so forth. But none of them have Israel's best interests, the safety of her citizens, the integrity of her borders, or even her very right to continue to exist at heart. Look at what Islam wants. Death to Israel is the clarion call. That's the position "The World" wants Israel to be willing to negotiate and compromise with? Excuse me?
Whether the Lebanese government cannot or will not occupy South Lebanon, displace and disarm Hizballah is irrelevant. The fact that they have not done so is relevant. Israel, in her own best interest, ought to occupy and annex South Lebanon as a new part of Israel. Then they will be able to systematically go after Hizballah there, and no one will be violating Israeli borders from there again.
Israel ought to occupy and annex Gaza as a new part of Israel. Then they will be able to systematically go after Hamas there, and no one will be violating Israeli borders from there again. These two actions would serve notice on all other neighbors that if they provide shelter and a launching pad for illegal attacks on Israel that they are potentially subjecting themselves to the next Israeli annexation.
Terrorists should have no shelter. What needs to be widely recognized is the fact that terrorists already have no legitimate shelter. Nations that shelter them should know that they place their own sovereignty at risk by doing so. In a similar light, we should be looking very closely at Pakistan, and how Al Qaeda still finds shelter in the so called autonomous regions there. If the government of Pakistan cannot or will not do the job, then, we ought to do it, whether they like it or not. Only when someone in the world becomes absolutely relentless in their pursuit of terrorists will Islamic nations begin to get the point.
American support for Israel should not even be in question. We should increase it, and even provide military support, up and until Israel becomes an unprovoked aggressor, like her neighbors.
In the meantime, somewhere in the world, some indoctrinated Moslem kid is strapping on a suicide vest and looking forward to a murderous martyrdom, collecting his 72 virgins, and screwing his brains out for all eternity in Moslem Heaven.
Now, how's that for a deeply profound religious beatific vision?
Pray for Israel.
Pray for our troops.
Pray for President Bush.

The point that you seem to miss is that liberty and sovereignty is important to every nation, not just Israel and America. Look at the current standoff in Iran. Nuclear ambitions of Iran are perfectly justifiable because they are surrounded by hostile nuclear weapon armed nations, most notably Israel. Nuclear weapons provide the kind of security that no other weapon does. Look how North Korea is condemned as being "the axis of evil", but no one, including America, wants a piece of them, precisely because they have nukes and they are perfectly willing and crazy enough to use it. It is a powerful deterrent against foreign aggression. Blab too much about violating sovereign borders, and then other nations would be forced to intervene. At the end of all the saber rattling, Iran has now won the support of both Russia and China, with Russia stating flat out that they will prevent American and Israeli aggression in the Middle East. The Iranian military might be negligible, but Russia and China most certainly are not. It is not all Muslim kids with bomb strapped to the waist.

America now has a President who will not militarily defend America’s interest, let alone Israel’s interest, or any other ally of America. In my opinion, he is hoping for some disastrous occurrence so that the American voters will rally round and put him and his Party in for a second term, so he can finish the job ob destroying America.
Apart from that, Iran has publicly and repeatedly stated that it intends to destroy Israel. Apparently you do not take them at their word; I do. If they build a bomb, they will use it. And that will not be the end of it. See the recently completed Definition of Islam page, and the Refuting Mohammed page, and recognized the temporary alliance between Marxism and Islam for what it is.
And prepare for the worst that will come from that. Wherever you live in the world, you will not be unaffected.

These are the pages that explore the dichotomy between what Benjamin Franklin called "our American religion," which is General Christianity, and waging war.
Necessity of War pages
Whether man wants war or not, it is best to be prepared for war so long as evil exists, and evil will exist until Christ comes again. Even Heaven itself was not free of war.
Unavoidable existence of evil and the periodic Necessary War. So long as evil exists, necessary war will be fought, lest the Church and "Good" be extinguished on earth.
The Necessity of War: Is there such a thing? Do we ever need war? The Thinking Catholic looks at the seemingly perpetual argument over the very Necessity of War.
America's Limited War Doctrine: A Fatal Flaw. Since Korea, top-level American war strategy has been terribly flawed. (Note well that the Korean "war" is not even over with, and we are still there, at this late date.)

How Cronkite and the SLIMC lost the Vietnam War for America. With the whole SLIMC overwhelmingly Marxist, the Reds couldn't possibly loose politically and publicly that which they couldn't posssibly win militarily in the Vietnam war.
The End Game; Marxism & Islam join hands beneath the smoke of world chaos. This could be the end game, it could be the beginning of World War Three, or, just another global depression.
World Revolution returns with a vengeance: the rebirth of Marxism. Marxist world revolution returns, and faces far less opposition than in 1848 or the period between the Great Wars.
Again, it's Israel up against what appears to be the whole pea-picking world. Weak lip-service and pretty speeches aside, America is Israel's only real ally. And, as war is imposed upon her again, even many Americans are lukewarm in their support. Why?
The latest Israeli conflict is little different from all the previous ones. The first Israeli conflict with her neighbors, and every one since then, has been a simple matter of self defense.
From 1768 through 1776 the Brits vainly attempted gun control in the Colonies. The British feared that, absent "gun control", the militias in the colonies could become as "regulated" and fearsome as the British "Regulars" themselves.

Thoughts in remembrance of 09/11/2001, five years later. The changing shape of the war, the changing shape of the enemy.
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
