It began innocently enough. It began with tolerating a little crudity, a little irreverence, a little ill-mannered behavior. Especially if it were tolerated (if not manifested) by someone a little older, thought to be a little wiser, or of higher authority. But, you see, that sort of thing grows. It modifies culture, if we tolerate it. It modifies you, if you allow it. If you look around, you don't have to look too far to see behaviors and public displays that were once upon a time anathema, and even illegal.
It has even invaded the Church; or, perhaps, it was always there, but more hidden, and at least a little ashamed of itself. Now, it's out in the open. We have Priests, Bishops, Archbishops and even Cardinals promoting the welcoming into full sacramental life of everything from active adulterers, to active homosexuals, to active practitioners of artificial contraception, to active opponents of Magisterial Authority.
That's what it comes to when you begin tolerating the intolerable.
America was first colonized by Christian people determined to establish colonies with freedom of religious worship, in contrast to the legally and brutally imposed Protestant religions of the theocratic governments of Europe, which they had all fled. After the American Revolution, the ratified American Constitution protected, in particular, our foundational Christian faith, and the right to worship in our diverse denominations. The Constitution was designed to protect citizen rights from their own government - an absolute first in all of world history.
Listed first, among all citizen rights, was freedom of religious worship and religious exercise, not to be interfered with even by our own government. Religious exercise means practical application, in the living of day to day life. Our religious life is part of that protected private sphere of citizen activities beyond the legal scope and legal authority of our own government. Here, the government is restricted and the citizen freed, within reason.
But then, we had two radically crudifying American historical "moments" that caused or accelerated the American cultural crudification process.
The first of these major crudification periods was during what I call the Woodrow Wilson Moment. This American historical "moment" was when the foundational ideology of Marxism, antagonistic of and antithetical to the American Constitution, was introduced into American political process and the federal government, despite the original intent of the Constitution itself. Under his administration, Wilson was able to:
Beginning with Hoover, and continuing through FDR's administration, the Democrat Party caused and fed the Great Depression, and used it to great effect.
This was the beginning. Wilson began overriding the Constitution and putting government in charge of the citizenry, and FDR began the process of making the people like it and depend upon it.
The Wilson Moment's actual Marxifying affect was radically augmented by the Hoover - FDR administration's "herding" of the citizens into becoming more dependent upon the government and less independent, or less dependent only upon themselves and their families. American citizens began to willingly get in line for government benefits, and to depend upon them. And to vote for candidates who promised more benefits, including Senators, who had degenerated from being state government representatives into being mere populist politicians, more interested in their own votes than the unique interests of their separate popularly elected state governments.
Citizens were being transformed from human capital into mouths to feed.
Growing population was being transformed from a blessing to a problem.
The Second of these major crudification periods began (and continues) with the bogus establishment of the Separation of Church and State unconstitutional "Constitutional Principle" established by the Supreme Court in the 1947 Everson v Board of Education decision. Go to the link for the details. Here we will just say that it was completely out of Constitutional scope and the high Court should never have even heard the case. Justice Black, who wrote the majority decision, fabricated false intentions of the framers of the First Amendment, especially Jefferson, that never existed. (Jefferson, as President, had done the very things the Black decision said he could not Constitutionally do.)
The Court was way out of bounds in this decision, which had the effect of making new law, and new law is, Constitutionally, the exclusive domain of the Congress, per Article One Section One. But they got away with it, because President Truman did nothing about it, and the sitting Congress did nothing about it. So it stands.
Unconstitutional actions, like other crimes, when left unopposed, stand. The President or the Congress, or both, could have and should have acted to set the decision aside as unconstitutional, null and no legal precedent, just as the Court had done in 1803 Marbury v Madison, in which the Court declared a law to be unconstitutional, null and no law. There is nothing in the Constitution granting any such power exclusively to any one of the three co-equal branches of government. They all have the exact same power. They all should be using it.
It can still be done, by a President or a Congress willing to do it.
The most damaging effect of the Everson case decision was to radically advance the cause of Secularism, bring it above ground and transform it into a major revolutionary movement, opposing the American foundational religion of General Christianity. Secularism, or, social religious cleansing, and Marxism go together and compliment each other.
The real effect of all of this was to put the process of the Secularizing of America on steroids. And, the background attack on natural economics, i.e., natural law Capitalism (which is nothing more than the liberated free market accompanied by the liberated citizen's right to private property) was aimed at the root of liberty itself. Because ...
And therefore ...
What does all that have to do with our national crudification - our becoming a crude, rude and vulgar people?
Everything. Marxification insists upon Secularization, and Secularization always brings on Crudification. The farther anyone moves away from God, the more crude and vulgar he will become. God and Marxism are just as incompatible as any form of Marxism and national prosperity. It's a double-whammy. Actually a triple-whammy, because our Marxist-trending government is making us dependent, crude and impoverished, all at the same time. And a whole lot of us are smiling at it and cooperating with it. We have been dumbed-down.
You cannot show me the Marxist nation that raised anyone out of poverty. It cannot be shown, because it has never happened, and it cannot be done. But I can show you the Capitalist nation that raised millions out of poverty, automatically - it is right here under our feet. And it is being systematically destroyed, on our watch. With our cooperation.
Here's what Prof. Wessel said about "Cultural Marxism" on the Refuting Free Love page.
Marxism, and Marxists, do not give a damn about you, other than to get in control of you, one way or another. The more depraved you become, the more government control will be required. The more government control is supplied, the bigger and more powerful government becomes, and the less independent you become. All they want is power; that's it. Not prosperity for you. Prosperity and power is only for them. That's all they really care about. Because they are godless and ungodly.
So they frighten little old ladies and youth too inexperienced and too mal-educated to know any better by fabricating horror stories about their bogus Climate Change and Sustainability and other fraudulent catastrophic problems that only government can solve, if you would only get rid of your light bulbs and SUVs and air conditioners and gas furnaces and stop breathing and farting carbon dioxide. The shear stupidity is staggering, and what is more staggering is that it is believed.
When Comrade Obama, peace be upon him, looks the camera in the eye and says that "Climate Change is Settled Science", he is lying, big, bold and blatant. On purpose. He cannot produce one single shred of actual scientific evidence supporting that stupid notion, because not one single shred of actual scientific evidence proving it exists. It is untrue, and therefore it cannot be proved, and all who claim otherwise are lying about it. It's a purely political move to grab global power, and to hell with the people.
Modern Marxism depends on frightening frauds and hoaxes to properly herd the people. And the first such frightening fraud and hoax is the one that insists that there is no God, with absolutely no scientific evidence to back it up. Because there is none.
And that's why "Scientists" such as Richard Dawkins can look you in the eye and say that "Evolution of Species is Settled Science", and lie, big, bold and blatant. The Scientific Method has never even been applied to it. Ask him to show you any empirical scientific evidence proving the evolution of any species at all, and watch his face and listen carefully. He will give you lots and lots of words, but no evidences, because there aren't any in existence. No such evolutionary event has ever been observed, or recorded in the fossil record, or produced in the laboratory with short-lived species. And not for want of trying. Failed experiments, in the new Marxified science, do not prove failure of a theory; failed experiments only prove the failure to prove the faithfully believed theory. See? They don't publish their failures, only their successes. But they haven't ever had a success.
Richard Dawkins is no scientist; he is a Marxified nincompoop. He is a tool of Secularism and of Marxism, and nothing more. Evolution of species merely covers his bigger lie, that God does not exist; yet, even assuming his stupid evolution of species theory might be true, it says nothing about the origination of the very first living being, from which microbes, narwhals, zebras and man all theoretically "evolved". So, that first living being "evolved" from nothing?
Well, ya gotcher basic, fundamental primordial ooze, see, and ...
The non-existence of God fraud is an imposition of intellectual terrorism. It turns common sense upside down, and acts to destroy our natural sense of the true nature of things, including our own nature. All about us we see things, and ourselves, as functioning complex "systems" that fulfill purposes. Obvious design. A wing flies; a hand grasps; a lung breaths; a fish swims; an atom hangs together; an electron orbits a nucleus; the moon orbits the earth; the earth orbits the sun; gravity works; electromagnetism works; the strong force and the weak force work; etc., etc., etc.
Things have purposes, and they fulfill their purposes. Simple common sense tells us that. All the beauty we see about us is, obviously, art; yet the godless and the ungodly would have us believe there is no artist. All the working systems we see all about us are, quite obviously, designed; yet the godless and ungodly would have us believe there is no designer. That everything is random; everything is accident; every obviously planned thing is, we are to believe, somehow unplanned.
The mind tries to grasp the purposelessness and pointlessness of existence pushed by the "Scientists" and it cannot. The mind cannot properly conceive of no purpose for being. And so the mind stops properly functioning as designed; we stop thinking properly. Critical thinking takes a hit. We stop concentrating on how things naturally are, and begin concentrating on how we can take control of everything and direct it for our purposes. Like the climate. Like the cosmos. Like ourselves. Like the economy. Like the population. Man, who now conceives himself to have found a new purpose, begins to try to control the entire cosmos for his own purposes. Everything gets a new imagined into being purpose.
But here's the problem: Objective Truth exists. Reality is what it is, and you cannot think it out of existence. Objective reality never changes, no matter what you think of it or what you try to do to it. You cannot fool nature; you can only fool yourself.
When man abandons objective truth he abandons all proper sense of right versus wrong. He no longer recognizes any differences between good and evil. He no longer believes that they even exist. There is only pleasant and unpleasant; desirable and undesirable; everything is judged subjectively, not objectively. Right and wrong change with the situation, or with the mood of the moment.
That's why no one calls the majority sitting on our Supreme Court morally depraved, or degenerate, even when they illegally act to "Constitutionalize" homosexual "marriage" in a formerly Christian nation. After all, the only way these Justices could be considered to be morally depraved is if there existed a fixed, recognizable, culturally identifying social moral code that condemned their behavior as being morally depraved.
But our original national Judaeo-Christian moral code is purposely being done in, right under our noses, and we are allowing it to continue.
Have you heard anyone question the sense of decency, propriety and the basic, fundamental morality of the Supreme Court lately? That's funny, neither have I. No one questions why they even entertain cases that have nothing whatsoever to do with anything within the Constitutional scope of the federal government to begin with. And no one acts to oppose their illegal and unconstitutional decisions, let alone to impeach any of them from office. They act outside Constitutional bounds, they violate their oaths of office, and no one even notices.
After all, look at what the President has done and gotten away with. What the Court has done and keeps doing is small potatoes. Another flagrant violation of the Constitution? Well, ho hum, heavy sigh and here we go again.
But, you see ...
It began with toleration of a little crudity, a little irreverence, a little ill-mannered behavior. However, it should not need to be pointed out that crudity is intolerable, ill manners are intolerable, and there is no such thing as a little irreverence. One is either reverent, or one is not. There is no such thing as the "slightly" irreverent.
Putting up with off-color jokes, sexual innuendo, double-meaning cute language, or even immodesty, either in speech, attire or behavior. If you want to know what it always leads to, look around.
Tolerating things that should be intolerable break down culture. It has gotten so bad in America that a mortal enemy ideology - Marxism - is in absolute control of one major political Party and has made serious inroads into the other one. An enemy ideology of Christianity, Judaism, the American Constitution, the Founding Principles in the Declaration, and even belief in God. It is now, through an unconstitutional Ruling Class that owns the Parties, mostly in control of all three branches of federal government, and actually running the government.
Against the Constitution, and against the will of the people.
And, in a seemingly not so hidden alliance with another enemy ideology with global intentions, American Marxist ideologues are welcoming, legally and illegally, the growing and metastasizing Islamic enclaves all over America.
We are tolerating our future murderers and en-slavers.
We are tolerating ourselves right out of existence.
In Culture=Religion+Politics, Chapter 13, titled "Death of the Ruling Class, or, of Constitutional America", we talked about how to undo all of this, and it cannot be undone without inflicting pain. It took well over a century for all this damage to be done to us as a nation, but it cannot be undone as it was done, slowly, piecemeal, one step at a time. It has to be done quickly and mercilessly, with a serious price to pay. It ain't gonna be pretty.
But if we don't break the Party system, and the Crony-Capitalist link between the gazillionaires and the officeholders, and the big-money requirement to run a political campaign, Constitutional America will die. Soon. It's that simple.
We cannot "fix" the public education system; it needs to be destroyed. We cannot "fix" the federal government's health care system or health care insurance system; they need to be destroyed. We cannot "fix" any of the Soviets (administrative bureaucracies) such as the EPA; they need to be taken out of existence. None of these things have a Constitutional reason for existing, and they are operating to our national destruction.
And we don't even see it. That's what warped toleration has done to us.
But before we do any of that, we need to turn ourselves around. That comes first.
If we just do that, everything will again begin to make sense.

I whole heartedly agree with every word that you have written. Experience and a recognition of current events with simple critical thinking taken in the context of current events and recent history verifies every word. For the sake of expediency, doing what might first be construed as convenient, appears to have usurped both law and common sense and in some instances, the truth of the natural order.
The current and sorry economic conditions can be laid to the premise of what you have described as the crudification. Anyone with a modicum of economic good sense knows that fiat currencies never work, however through expediency, carelessness, and an aversion to reality, we are now about to pay the price of a severe economic sacrifice for our foolishness. This is to say nothing of the current state of affairs specifically involving Catholicism and the entire realm of Christianity itself.
Again, I wholeheartedly agree with your every word, if I might, I contend that the first broaches of Constitutional Law occurred under the Lincoln Administration. His avid support of European Communism permeated both the military and government under his administration. I highly recommend Lincoln's Marxists by Al Benson Jr. an interesting read in this era of declining economic and cultural values.
I urge you to continue to write and publish your work, the good that you do might not be quickly recognized however the virtue of truth expressed eloquently possesses a value that will prevail in the minds of many. This in itself might prompt the recognition to enable a resurgence of the value of the exercise of the recognition of reality and the truth of a matter in our daily lives. Thank you for having the courage to contest conventional wisdom.

The Purpose of this grouping of articles is to highlight the three incompatible geopolitical movements in global contention: American Constitutionalism, Marxism and Islam. And to give evidence to the insidious infiltration of Marxist and Islamic thought, and corrosive evil, into American Culture.
A fixed social moral code, born of religion, is what makes a unique, identifiable People, distinct from other Peoples. Distinct People of a common moral code make civil laws representing and reinforcing their common moral code, via Politics. When a distinctly moral People live within a distinct Political organization they form a distinct and identifiable Human Culture.
Truth is the only thing we can Unite on. Yet Real Truth Divides.
Truth Divides, because Truth Hurts. Any "Truth" that indiscriminately Unites is a False Truth.
Broken Communion with God ultimately causes the broken human community. Man is a social being, in need of community with others. Broken Communion is an unnatural disorder for man.

On entering (or avoiding) the Catholic American Discomfort Zone. Let's not talk about Religion or Politics today; it's confrontational and uncomfortable. Let's avoid the Discomfort Zone.
Unique, Distinct, Identifiable Human Culture = Religion + Politics. The Formula [Culture = Religion + Politics] is what makes a distinct, identifiable People a distinct and identifiable People.
The Formula [Culture=Religion+Politics] is Inviolate. Politics merely organize Human Culture around the predominant Religious beliefs of a distinct and identifiable People.

Crony-Catholicism? Really? The USCCB is advancing Obamunism? Say it ain't so, Joe! It's bad enough that we now have so many Marxified Bishops, but now they actually act against the faith?
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
