Farewell Billy Boone; may your life have pleased the Lord.

It's hard to part with an old friend, but parting comes, and time waits for no man.

Billy Boone, 1937-2017, was a builder, and a supervisor of major building projects. His knowledge of and experience with tools, big and small, and of the whole process of building and completing huge projects, was organized, vast, broad, deep and detailed.

But, beneath all of that, Billy was a carpenter, pure and simple. He made beautiful things with his hands. We have some of them in our home. And when you look at them and touch them, and when you examine the exquisite detail, the joinery, the fit and final finish, you recognize the simple fact that Billy loved his work. He loved what he did. Through this simple love of wood and woodworking he raised carpentry to an art form.
