The Principle of The Political Thirds explains why there is rarely if ever any really huge or "overwhelming" majority agreement on anything at all within any large population. If you don't know what I'm talking about refer to The Three Sociological Divisions for a detailed treatment of the subject. There are everywhere evident and there have always been these "Thirds", in all human societies. Only the percentages of the whole population in each of the Thirds are subject to periodic change. In all likelihood, no human society is "pure" in its goodness, its evil, or its inattentiveness or blase indifference toward important matters.
