The error persists, on the Left and on the Right, that the Constitution has changed over time, and that those changes indicate the genius of the original authors, because they left us the amendment process by which to change it over time and make it suit new needs of new times.

That's bull crap. None of the Constitutional changes anyone is talking about came about through the amendment process. They came about through violations of the Constitution, which means that they came about through violations of solemnly sworn oaths of office.
