Broken communion with God ultimately broke the human community

All across North Africa, the Middle East and Europe, what raised man out of barbarity, i.e., false-god centered and/or man centered tribalism, and into what came to be known as Western Civilization was the Eucharistic Meal. This was and is Communion with God; a sharing in Divinity, however temporary, and a sharing of the very special Grace of God in community with all at the table. A firm knowledge that all who ate worthily of the bread of life might never die.
