The history of the world is a bloody history of war, conquest, mass murder, enslavement and brutal domination of people by conquering and dominating rulers. That is not the natural order of things, but that is the undeniable history of human culture. Man naturally yearns to be free, to enjoy some modicum of autonomy and self-rule. Historically, every chance he got to achieve a little autonomy and self-rule, he grabbed it.
