Proselytizing v Evangelizing: What's the difference? Is there a difference?

It's a very thin line between between Proselytizing and Evangelizing, so why is the one condemned and the other commended?

In most dictionaries, they are near synonyms. If you look up the one, you will find the other describing it. The only real difference, in most dictionaries, is that Evangelizing seems to always refer to promoting Christian faith, solely. But both involve the process of convincing someone to join a religion they do not yet believe in or belong to.
