Whenever your mouse passes over or pauses on the sarcastic-editorial abbreviation TRMITM18 , anywhere in the Catholic American Thinker website, the words The Reason Man's In This Mess should appear in a little pop-up text box, so you don't need to actually click on it every time just to see what it means. Just put your mouse on it without clicking, and look at the text box. (Use your browser's Back button to return.)
When you strip it all away and try to get to the heart of it, "The Reason" is the result of an ancient, very simple and very fundamental error. It involved, first, a turning from God, and ended with an imitation of God.
To "Be Like God" is the ultimate temptation.
Truth is Truth regardless of what anyone believes about it or how anyone "reasons" themselves around it. People who pick and choose religious tenets they happen to agree with while rejecting other tenets they happen to disagree with are really saying something about themselves. They shape God to suit themselves rather than shape themselves to suit God. This of course is "The Reason".
You don't have to look to far around yourself today to see glaring examples of men trying hard to be like the God they have abandoned, as they seek to control the weather, climate, etc., through legislation, taxes, "Carbon Credits", growing government or other government action. Now, some of these are devious men who really seek to gain more control over other men; however, most of them really believe that man can eventually take control of the universe.
To be like God.

The words should look familiar, since they are taken almost verbatim from your comment after the Social Justice page. Thank you so much!
Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.

"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
