Whenever your mouse passes over or pauses on the sarcastic-editorial abbreviation TRMITM18 , anywhere in the Catholic American Thinker website, the words The Reason Man's In This Mess should appear in a little pop-up text box, so you don't need to actually click on it every time just to see what it means. Just put your mouse on it without clicking, and look at the text box. (Use your browser's Back button to return.)
When you strip it all away and try to get to the heart of it, "The Reason" is the result of an ancient, very simple and very fundamental error. It involved, first, a turning from God, and ended with an imitation of God.
To "Be Like God" is the ultimate temptation.
Truth is Truth regardless of what anyone believes about it or how anyone "reasons" themselves around it. People who pick and choose religious tenets they happen to agree with while rejecting other tenets they happen to disagree with are really saying something about themselves. They shape God to suit themselves rather than shape themselves to suit God. This of course is "The Reason".
You don't have to look to far around yourself today to see glaring examples of men trying hard to be like the God they have abandoned, as they seek to control the weather, climate, etc., through legislation, taxes, "Carbon Credits", growing government or other government action. Now, some of these are devious men who really seek to gain more control over other men; however, most of them really believe that man can eventually take control of the universe.
To be like God.

I feel that I must mention that this is probably the finest and most succinct article that you have penned yet!

The words should look familiar, since they are taken almost verbatim from your comment after the Social Justice page. Thank you so much!

This was extremely informative. I have been awake to our true reality for about a year now. I've always believed before you can figure out a solution to a problem people have to realize and admit to each individual what the real problem is and who is behind it. How do you open the eys of the Americans who's fears have been exploited to have an open dialogue and convince them your not the boogey man. Then get them to unite for the one main issue we have in common, our fates if we can't get them to see we are Americans first and will give our life to defend our neighbors and our future family. As long as "We The People's are willing to pay the highest price to protect that piece of paper, they have already lost. As long as people are inspired and have hope they will never give up.
Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.
Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life; please God, and live forever.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
