Unique, Distinct, Identifiable Human Culture = Religion + Politics.

The Formula [Culture = Religion + Politics] is what makes a distinct, identifiable People a distinct and identifiable People.

http://www.CatholicAmericanThinker.com/

It's a simple matter of Nature, and Natural Law.

The Family, as the primal social unit of any society, has by nature rules of behavior aimed at the future success of the family, or, it will disintegrate into chaos and no longer be a family.  The larger society, comprises as it is of many families, has, by nature, rules of behavior aimed at the success of the society, or, it will disintegrate into chaos and no longer be an identifiable society.

Where do these rules of behavior come from?  They come from Morality.

Where does this morality come from?  It comes from Religion.

Here's what George Washington said about, first, religion, then, politics:

“Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens … Let it simply be asked, where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?” –George Washington.

“A primary object … should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing … than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?” –George Washington.

Note well that the father of our country was not speaking of just any old religion; he was speaking of the diverse, yet still unique, in most respects, religion of the then existing American society, emerged from the original thirteen Colonies, whose specific, officially and legally defined state religions were:

Rhode Island
Pennsylvania
Maryland
Connecticut
Georgia
Massachusetts
North Carolina
New Hampshire
South Carolina
Virginia
Florida

West Indies
New York
Delaware
New Jersey

Baptist
Quaker
Roman Catholic
Congregational
Church of England
Congregational
Church of England
Congregational
Church of England
Church of England
Catholic (Spanish era) Church of England (British era)
Church of England
Church of England
Undifferentiated Christian
Undifferentiated Protestant

See the Separation of Church and State page for how evil men in high Constitutional office sitting on the Supreme Court quite illegally invented that "Constitutional" Principle out of thin air.  The First Amendment Religion clause puts two restrictions on government, and none - no restrictions whatsoever - on any citizen or on any Church.  But that's getting away from the subject at hand.

It was Christianity, in the broad sense, and predominantly Protestant Christianity, that formed the consciences and social sensibilities of the Colonial Family, and that continues to overwhelmingly form the collective conscience of American Culture today, even despite all Marxocrat Party direct opposition to it.

No other religion on earth has the same strong morality or moral code.

Every other religion now recognizable as "moral" has adopted or merged with the moral precepts of the original Judao-Christian Ethos in order to become a more moral religion.

America was designed by and for Christians, and it is Christianity that forms our American national moral code.  This is the morality that forms and drives our representative law, by design.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” –John Adams.

“It can not be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation of ours was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians … not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ.” –Patrick Henry.

Adherence to the spirit and intent of our Constitution was so important to our Founding Fathers that one of the first acts of the First Congress was to pass the verbiage for the Oath or Affirmation of office in compliance with Article VI of our Constitution. George Washington was the first President administered the Oath or Affirmation as prescribed by Article II Section 1 on April 29th 1789, to which he added the words “So help me God.” He then said the following:

“I shall take my present leave; but not without resorting once more to the benign Parent of the human race, in humble supplication, that since He has been pleased to favor the American people with the opportunities for deliberating in perfect tranquility, and dispositions for deciding with unparalleled unanimity on a form of Government for the security of their union, and the advancement of their happiness, so His divine blessing may be equally conspicuous in the enlarged views, the temperate consultations and the wise measures, on which the success of this government must depend.” –George Washington.

“[The adoption of the Constitution] will demonstrate as visibly the finger of Providence as any possible event in the course of human affairs can ever designate it.” –George Washington.

“I regard it [the Constitution] as the work of the purest patriots and the wisest states men that ever existed, aided by the smiles of a benignant [gracious] Providence … it almost appears a Divine interposition in our behalf … “ –Daniel Webster.

“I have so much faith in the general government of the world by Providence that I can hardly conceive a transaction of such momentous importance [as the framing of the Constitution] … should be suffered to pass without being in some degree influenced, guided, and governed by that … beneficent Ruler in Whom all inferior spirits live and move and have their being.” –Benjamin Franklin.

“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” –Benjamin Franklin.

“The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy the gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve and enjoy it. While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious and debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves.” –Samuel Adams.

Only a highly moral people, sustained by a commonly held sense of virtue, decency and honor, imbued with the same moral code, can reliably maintain and sustain a form of government in which the Law, rather than any man or group of men, is supreme.  Only a highly moral citizenry can govern itself, recognizing a common law that governs them all.

Americans are supposed to be a Self-Governing People.

America was founded and Constituted to be a nation of Laws rather than just another nation governed by mere men, among the many.  Even the President of the USA is really nothing more than a temporary elected Representative who Presides - the guy who holds the gavel - at any particular moment in time.  He stands equal to you and to me before the Constitution, which is the Supreme Law of the Land.  So it is with the Senate, and the House, and the Supreme Court.  All of them have their unique responsibilities, outlined in the Constitution, but none of them, individually or collectively, stand above you or me before the law.  That's what it means to be a Nation of Laws.

“ … I am committed against every thing which, in my judgment, may weaken, endanger, or destroy [the Constitution] … and especially against all extension of Executive power; and I am committed against any attempt to rule the free people of this country by the power and the patronage of the Government itself … “ –Daniel Webster.

"It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." –Daniel Webster.

“In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” –Thomas Jefferson.

“A well-instructed people alone can be permanently a free people.” –James Madison.

“I know of no safe depositor of the ultimate powers of [a] society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. The is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power.” –Thomas Jefferson.

“Say … whether peace is best preserved by giving energy to the government, or information to the people. This last is the most certain and the most legitimate engine of government. Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. Enable them to see that it is in their interest to preserve peace and order, and they will preserve them. And it requires no very high degree of education to convince them of this. They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.” –Thomas Jefferson.

“The good sense of the people will always be found to be the best army. They may be led astray for a moment, but will soon correct themselves.” –Thomas Jefferson.

At question, at this vital point in American history, is how many of the American citizenry even know that they are the sovereigns in this land.  How much has been "educated" out of them through Frankfurt-School and Cultural-Marxism infected formative education and academia.  If any citizen has never even read his own Constitution, and he doesn't even know his own Constitutional Rights of Citizenship, does he really have those rights?  If you don't even know you have a legal right, you do not have it, by simple default.  You would never know when it was violated, and you would never defend it, for you have been purposely made completely ignorant of it and oblivious to it.  By evil design.

America as designed, Declared and Constituted is Capitalist

Looking back again at the American national foundational building blocks - the Natural Law rights to:

  1. Equality of all men before the law;
  2. Life; the prohibition of the unwarranted taking of human life;
  3. Liberty; the freedom to move and travel about, reside or live wherever one chooses, pursue one's own interests, education, profession, business, occupation, etc., without government interference;
  4. Pursuit of Happiness; the freedom to prosper by the sweat of one's own brow and from the work of one's own hands; the ability to legally and legitimately earn, possess, accumulate, barter and bargain with and for one's own Private Property
(Private Property = Income = Wealth)

This American Foundation Stone forms a perfect nutshell description of the Free Market (= Capitalism).  The Free Market, or the Most Free Market, only comes into being when men have equal rights, Life itself is protected, they have Liberty and the right to the Pursuit of Happiness.  Take any of those four American Foundational Rights away and the Free Market is no longer a Free Market.

That's all Capitalism is; it is the ability of free men of equal rights doing commercial transactions with each other.  Prices for raw materials, labor, finished goods and services, even interest rates - the price of money - are automatically set by the Natural Laws of Supply and Demand.  It's all natural and quite automatic.  To whatever extent the free market is in any way controlled or restricted, to that same extent is is no longer a free market.

Those who say that Capitalism is controlled "system" of man are liars.  It is only direct opposition to the natural free market that is and can only be a controlled system of man, and most certainly is not natural.  Anything that hinders or interferes with natural supply and demand of anything interferes with the free market and operates to oppose Capitalism.  Minimum Wages, Maximum Profits, Limits on Wealth, Wage Controls, Price Controls, Commodity Controls, Interest Controls, Currency Controls, Business Regulations, Behavior Controls, Monopoly, Subsidies, Tariffs, Crony-Capitalism and Oligarchy, Fascism, Socialism, etc., all operate against the Free Market and thus against the natural origination of new Wealth and the growth of Wealth for Individuals, for Families, for Cultures, in any Nation and in the larger World.

The American government has now been so thoroughly corrupted that it operates almost entirely outside the Constitution, is now overwhelmingly Socialist, and is not Capitalist at all.  Our government now openly opposes the Free Market, and operates to ever increasingly control it, and to ever increasingly control the formerly free citizenry.  That is why America is in economic decline, and will remain in decline, so long as unconstitutional Political Parties, their Money, their Backers and their Agendas hold sway and rule over the Constitution.

Our Holy Father Pope Francis reveals his complete ignorance of the natural Free Market in his multiple denunciations of "Unfettered Capitalism", which is, of course, a misnomer in and of itself.  Unfettered Capitalism does not and cannot even exist.  If you "Fetter" the Free Market, it is no longer the Free Market; it is a "Fettered" Market, whatever that is.  It most certainly isn't Capitalism.  Most recently he attacked the pursuit of money, calling it the "dung of the Devil".  Well, once the pursuit of anything becomes compulsive or obsessive, or addictive and controlling, that's true enough; but we cannot outlaw currency.  Pope Francis may be a holy man, I don't know about that; but he is certainly an impractical man in worldly affairs.  And that's putting it mildly.  He clearly believes, embraces and promotes all of the Anti-Capitalism lies and falsehoods of Marxism.  He is, at the very least, a typical convinced "Useful Idiot" Marxist, ripe for exploitation by evil Revolutionaries.

Culture = Religion + Politics

How does that apply in America?

So what makes America tick; or, more appropriately, what is supposed to make America tick, in accordance with our founding document, the Declaration of Independence, and our Constituting document, the Constitution of the United States.  Meaning, if we wanted to get back under the Constitution and actually obey the law for a change.

Well, our Religion is Christian

Our Politics are Constitutional

Very simple; nothing to it.  We just went over it again up above, and not for the first time.

How does Culture = Religion + Politics apply in Marxist Theory?

Well, as far as Religion and Politics under anti-Liberty, anti-Capitalism, Marxism, etc., let's look at what the expert witnesses had to say ...

Cujus region, ejus rligio (Whoever’s reign, his religion) ... He who owns the country owns the Church, and he that makes your laws for you has the right to make your religion for you. --Martin Luther.

The Pope? How many divisions has he got? --Joseph Stalin.

I believe in one thing only, the power of human will. --Joseph Stalin.

For the bureaucrat, the world is a mere object to be manipulated by him. --Karl Marx.

In fact, if Christ himself stood in my way, I, like Nietzsche, would not hesitate to squish him like a worm. --Che Guevara.

Nothing can have value without being an object of utility. --Karl Marx.

Religion is the impotence of the human mind to deal with occurrences it cannot understand. --Karl Marx.

Religion is the opium of the masses. --Karl Marx.

Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. --Karl Marx.

The first requisite for the happiness of the people is the abolition of religion. --Karl Marx.

The theory of Communism may be summed up in one sentence: Abolish all private property. --Karl Marx.

It is true that liberty is precious; so precious that it must be carefully rationed. --Vladimir I Lenin.

It was under Wilson, of course, that the first huge parts of the Marxist program, such as the progressive income tax, were incorporated into the American system. --Robert Welch.

And what does reward virtue? You think the communist commissar rewards virtue? You think a Hitler rewards virtue? You think, excuse me, if you'll pardon me, American presidents reward virtue? Do they choose their appointees on the basis of the virtue of the people appointed or on the basis of their political clout? --Milton Friedman.

I have here in my hand a list of two hundred and five people that were known to the Secretary of State as being members of the Communist Party and who nevertheless are still working and shaping the policy of the State Department. --Joseph R. McCarthy.

No member of our generation who wasn't a Communist or a dropout in the thirties is worth a damn. --Lyndon B. Johnson.

The revolutionary is the man who has emancipated himself from ties of blood and soil, from his mother and his father, from special loyalties to state, class, race, party, or religion. --Eric Fromm and Abraham Maslow.

A lie told often enough becomes the truth" --Vladimir I Lenin.

It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything. --Joseph Stalin.

Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas? --Joseph Stalin.

We must practice coexistence with other nations, until we are strong enough to take over by means of world revolution ... We are not pacifists. Conflict is inevitable. Great political questions can be solved only through violence ... It is inconceivable that Communism and capitalism can exist side by side. Inevitably one must perish. --Vladimir I Lenin.

Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands and at whom it is aimed. --Joseph Stalin.

Print is the sharpest and the strongest weapon of our party. --Joseph Stalin.

The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall. --Che Guevara.

One of the major principles is that Soviet literature must be inseverably linked with the policy of the Communist party. --Nikita Khrushchev.

The press is our chief ideological weapon. --Nikita Khrushchev.

The writer is the engineer of the human soul. --Joseph Stalin.

In a higher phase of communist society ... only then can the narrow horizon of bourgeois right be fully left behind and society inscribe on its banners: from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs. --Karl Marx.

Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted" --Vladimir I Lenin.

"Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever" ---Vladimir I Lenin.

And what did men like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Khrushchev, Castro, etc., actually participate in, in their respective Marxist "governments"?  Dictatorship.  They called it other names, they had proxy bureaucratic governments obeying their commands and play-acting at government, but they were all pure dictatorships.  Whether achieved through some variation of Machiavelli's plan of sudden violent revolution, or some variation of Hegel's plan of long, drawn-out crisis after crisis building to ultimate violent revolution, it was never popular, always deceiving of the population, always lying, never honest and above-board about anything.

None of them ever raised up the lower class, or fed the hungry or created wealth for anyone other than the privileged few in the government itself, or Crony-Capitalist Oligarchs in bed with Fascistic government.  No "Socialism" ever raised up any lower class or expanded any middle class, ever, in all of history.  Yet the lies continue, and expand, and grow.  Look at the Pigeonholes in American religion and politics to see where today's Marxocrat Party is leading America, with the aiding and abetting of the Republicrat Party, who are in full bipartisan cooperation with the advance of Marxist falsehood and evil.

If you simply read Marx's Manifesto, you will see that Marxism aims at the violent overthrow of all existing social institutions, ostensibly - for all of Marxism's stupidly convinced Useful Idiot self-sacrificial agent provocateurs, supporters and fellow travelers - to achieve a perfect, unnatural, man-made, utopian worker's paradise.  But really, in actual practice, a dictatorship, pure and simple.

How does Culture = Religion + Politics apply in Islam?

Well, there's only one religion allowed, that being, Islam.  And, there's only one political arrangement allowed, that being, Islam.  Islam is a radical theocracy - a radical combination of Church and State.  It is both religion and government, and it will have no other religion, and it will have no other form of government.  It is a war strategy aimed at the whole of the world.  It makes Jihad, or Holy War, against all unbelievers, until:

  1. Unbelievers convert to Islam, or,
  2. Unbelievers totally submit to Islamic law and all Islamic rules, and pay a Jisya tax, the amount dependent upon how much you have and the mood of the ones demanding the tax each and every time the tax is demanded, or,
  3. Unbelievers are dead.

When all the world is in submission to Islam, Jihad will end.  At least that's the theory.  Islam cannot coexist indefinitely with unbelievers in Islam.  That's the way it is.  I'm not making this up.  Read the Koran yourself.  Jihad against unbelievers is preached in every Mosque on earth.

When Religion and/or Politics are Barbaric.

The anti-religion of Marxism, and the violent revolutionary intent toward all existing social institutions makes Marxism Barbaric.  Marxism opposes both religion and civilized government, in favor of dictatorship.

Both the religion and the politics of Islam are not only anti-American, and not only anti-Christian, but violently opposed to every other religion and every other form of government on earth.  Islam is, exactly and precisely, utter barbarity.  It, too, like Marxism, seeks ultimate dictatorship, under the name of Caliphate.

See The Last Barbarians.  Marxism and Islam, both, oppose all that is civilized, and even civilization itself.  And, guess what, they both find favor in high places.  Many of the world's highest recognized scholars and academics, scientists, philosophers, theologians and intellectuals embrace one or the other, if not both, and praise them, and recommend them, and consider them to be superior to whatever is.

The most glaring stupidities today always seem to come from the top of society, seldom from the bottom.  Perhaps being aloof and removed from real world practical reality has something to do with it.

Pray for America, and pray for the Church.  God help us all.

Afterthoughts, Monday July 13 2015.

A word should be said about the false American history we have been and are being increasingly subjected to through Marxified indoctrination under the guise of education and Marxified propaganda under the guise of news reporting.  It is a false history portraying perhaps world history's greatest champions of human liberty as vicious slave drivers unworthy of honor, and the world's most liberated and liberating nation portrayed as evil.  America, Jefferson and Washington come immediately to mind.  It is a false slander.

An anti-slavery clause was narrowly deleted from the Declaration of Independence, at the hands of the mostly Southern Planters, slave market operators and immoral dealers in human traffic.  They who were to become the original Democrat Party.  They, and they alone, stopped the abolition movement in its tracks, every time men like Jefferson and Washington tried to advance it.

It was they who fought to keep black slaves out of recognition as human beings and citizens in the ratification of the Constitution process.  It was a political fight with them that resulted in the 3/5 of a human being the black man represented in the Constitution, so that blacks could have at least some representation in Congress.  The Planters (future Democrats) did not want them represented at all.  We talked about the details of this in Political Battle Lines and in the Confederate Flag treatment, among other places.  The entire history of the Confederacy is just one small part of the ongoing history of the Democrat Party, which is now the Marxocrat Party.

The Founding Fathers and the Framing Fathers compromised with these evil men to keep the Union intact as one nation, hoping that in time they would see the light and convert to become true lovers of liberty; but no, it was not to be.  The slavers positions only hardened; they opposed the four American Principles: Equality, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.  For them, those rights were for white men only, and black men were mere private property to be traded in and used as mere commodities and labor.  As cold-hearted as Karl Marx himself.

After defeat, they morphed into today's Marxocrat Party, steeped in anti-Americanism, vengefulness and hatred, and adopting the most anti-American politics visible, which was, of course Marxism.  And the anti-American lies began.  You can thank the Frankfurt-School, and Gramsci's Cultural-Marxism, for how this thinking took over formal education, entertainment, academia, news reporting and even politics.  See the Pigeonhole page for how complete this intellectual invasion has been and continues to be.  You can thank the Marxocrat Party for the defeat and ongoing humiliation of Joe McCarthy when he tried to inform America about the advancing Communist threat to Liberty.

When your grandchild tells you about how horrible Thomas Jefferson was because he owned slaves, you will know where that came from.

But the Truth is available to you.

Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life.  Please God and live forever.

The Purpose of this grouping of articles is to highlight the three incompatible geopolitical movements in global contention: American Constitutionalism, Marxism and Islam.  And to give evidence to the insidious infiltration of Marxist and Islamic thought, and corrosive evil, into American Culture.

Culture=Religion+Politics
A fixed social moral code, born of religion, is what makes a unique, identifiable People, distinct from other Peoples.  Distinct People of a common moral code make civil laws representing and reinforcing their common moral code, via Politics.  When a distinctly moral People live within a distinct Political organization they form a distinct and identifiable Human Culture.

Unique, Distinct, Identifiable Human Culture = Religion + Politics.  The Formula [Culture = Religion + Politics] is what makes a distinct, identifiable People a distinct and identifiable People.

The Formula [Culture=Religion+Politics] is Inviolate.  Politics merely organize Human Culture around the predominant Religious beliefs of a distinct and identifiable People.
