Yesterday, in our treatment of the Coronavirus scare, we noted that the global number of infected people was then 146,314, the death count was 5,442, and that made the fatality rate 3.7%.
Today, current infections stand at 162,674 and deaths at 6,069.
6,069 / 162,674 = 0.037, so the world's fatality rate remains 3.7%
However, that's not America's fatality rate. In America, we see:
60 / 3,083 = 0.019, so America's fatality rate is only 1.9%
We'll see if that holds up over time, but there is no reason to think it will not. The reason our fatality rate for the Coronavirus pandemic is lower than the world's fatality rate is that we have a better health care system than the rest of the world, and the reason it is better is that more of it is private and not government run. Medical professionals are better at practicing their profession when they are free to do so, and unrestrained by bureaucratic administration, administrators, rules and regulations.
Note well that this is nowhere near either the infection rate or the death rate involved in the H1N1 (Swine) flue American global pandemic. In that 2009 event, some 60,800,000 Americans were infected, 274,304 were hospitalized and 12,469 died. Much bigger numbers all around. One in five Americans were infected, but the mortality rate was only about two tenths of one percent. Still, the numbers were much higher than we're seeing now with the Coronavirus.
Comrade President Obama, peace be upon him, did declare a national emergency after the first thousand Americans had died. But, again, note that nothing was shut down, and the world went about it's business as normal, in the face of this widespread disease, in which everybody knew somebody that had it.
President Trump was wise to shut down transportation from China, Europe and infected nations, and that should have been enough, along with the good advice regarding self-quarantining and practices safe-guarding against infection.
There was and is no reason to shut down major events and terrorize the population into a hoarding and hiding in the closet survival mentality.
I see it as just another attempt by Marxocrats, Globalists, Never-Trumpers and other general all around anti-Americans to wreck the economy for political purposes.
The Coronavirus is, after all, another common cold virus.
I said it in yesterday's Coronavirus treament, but it bears repeating:
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
Truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.—Winston Churchill
The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.—Ayn Rand
