News turns me off. It used to make me sick, until I stopped reading it and watching it. Now, predominantly, I only hear about it, from other sources like the internet and Talk Radio, and now it just turns me off. I knew it was beyond Liberal, beyond Leftist, and committed, dedicated Marxist way back during Vietnam. And that is to say, the News is anti-American. See the Mainstream Media Pages if you don't believe me.
Mornings and evenings, before and after work, I have time for this website, and to keep up on news via the internet. I drive for a living, so I listen to talk radio during the day. The best of talk radio, in this area, means either Glenn Beck or Herman Cain, followed by Rush Limbaugh, followed by Sean Hannity.
And there is Ave Maria Radio, but the reception is poor around here, especially in downtown areas. My company phone doesn't hold a charge for a whole day, so I have to periodically plug it in to charge it, to keep in contact with Dispatch. For reasons I cannot explain, when the company phone is charging it produces static on AM radio, but not so much, or not at all, on the FM stations. It only affects Glenn Beck and Ave Maria.
Another problem is that I am in and out of the vehicle doing pickups and deliveries, as a courier, being paid a flat commission on each delivery. That means I don't hear everything said on Talk Radio, and I miss a lot. I especially dislike such interruptions during really good monologues by one of the hosts; but that's life. I'm not paid to sit and listen to talk radio.
All that being said, as much as I hate mainstream Leftist journalism, I am now beginning to get tired of some of the best Talk Radio, too. Maybe I'm getting fussy in my old age, or, just maybe, I'm recognizing the fact that good conservatives can be fooled by evil, too. All through the Winnowing Pages, and elsewhere, I have talked about the need to recognize those you need to gather with, those you need to evangelize, and those you need to separate from.
Evil still exists.
Nothing has changed in that regard, except that evil keeps advancing. The way that evil advances among conservatives is by not being recognized as evil. Evil is going to win its allotted number of souls. That's the way it is. Once you have determined that someone has gone over to the evil side, and is obstinate about it, and determined to remain there, you need to separate from them, lest you become evil, or a tool of evil, too. Satan has his Useful Idiots the same as Marx.
You become evil's fool by being fooled by any softened version of evil.
Ask yourself this simple question: If you know that your friend or your relative or your favored celebrity is homosexual, exactly how did you come to know that fact? I will bet you dollars to doughnuts that, before you knew, you never asked, and you didn't care. So how did you come to know it? I've already answered that question for you, in another page, Right Here. See if that doesn't hit the nail on the head for you. How else would you know, unless you were homosexual too.
The point? Homosexuality, consistently damned throughout all of Scripture, is no longer seen as evil. Even though it is still evil. It is no longer seen as unnatural. Even thought it is still unnatural. "It's OK for you, but it's not OK for me" just doesn't get it. It is evil. Once we, in our majority, collectively say that sodomy is not evil, what has our culture become, and what kind of a people have we become?
What has happened to civilization? Are we still civilized?
Evil advances best in the area of morality and moral norms, but it is not standing still in any other area of human thought. It advances against civilized culture by taking best advantage of good and decent Principle. The Principle of unlimited freedom of thought, speech, print, press, etc., provides a perfect avenue for the intrusion of evil into civilized culture.
That famous quote, most frequently attributed to Voltaire, provided a huge avenue for evil to enter into the world of political ideology, even among the best of previously civilized nations. Today, the two greatest absolutely evil forces in the geopolitical world - Islam and Marxism - are gaining ground less by force than by infiltration, deceit, treachery and internal treason. All due to Freedom of Speech, and all that is associated with that seemingly unlimited principle.
That's the problem: it is deemed to be unlimited. It should not be.
What is the overall goal, and the very purpose for being, of Islam? To militarily crush all other religions and belief systems, with particular emphasis on Judaism and Christianity, and to forcibly bring the entire world and all humanity into total submission to Islam. To dominate the world.
Having met with military disaster after military disaster, Islam, beaten back into isolated enclaves, morphed into a more insidious, parasitic strategy, pretending to be a "Religion Of Peace" until it could infiltrate and overcome more powerful nations from within.
Unlimited freedom of speech allows it to advance here.
What is the overall goal, and the very purpose for being, of Marxism? To cause violent revolutions to crush all other government systems, with particular emphasis on the most economically successful, and to forcibly bring the entire world and all humanity into total submission to Marxism. To dominate the world.
Having met with revolutionary failure after revolutionary failure, Marxism morphed into a more insidious, parasitic strategy, pretending to be a "Just Another Political Opinion" until it could infiltrate and overcome more powerful national organizations from within.
Unlimited freedom of speech allows it to advance here.
It's like inviting a tribe of hungry cannibals to your house for dinner.
The advance of Marxism in America got a gigantic boost, with the already ideologically Marxist-dominated press in the lead, with the systematic destruction of Joe McCarthy and the crushing of the McCarthy Hearings looking into the depth of ongoing Communist infiltration into government and throughout American society.
The last anti-Marxist crusader was destroyed by Marxists already here.
The result, of all of this infiltration of mortal enemies, allowed through unlimited freedom of speech?
The current Marxocrat Party. Obamunism. The insidious Moslem Brotherhood, who gave birth to Al Queda and other Jihadists, in our government, acting as the Moslem Advisors to the President.
So, frequently these days, I listen to Glenn Beck, and when he starts going on about bringing us all together, I change the station. When Jesus told us to love one another, He was talking about us. The way others would know that we were His disciples was by how we loved one another. Your neighbor is not your conqueror or your murderer. He was not talking about loving your murderers, or the determined destroyers of His Church on earth. The historical point Glenn missed in Gandhi's non-violence was that it broke India into three, creating West Pakistan and East Pakistan (Bangladesh). That was not a success. And they (Moslems and Hindus) are still killing each other.
So, I listen to Herman Cain, and, seemingly, every time someone asks "What can we the people do about all of this?" his answer is, elect conservative candidates again, and, this time, really, really hold their feet to the fire. And the Republicrat leadership laughs up their sleeve, while I shake my head and change the station again.
So, I listen to Sean Hannity, and, sooner or later, I am disgusted by the open Cafeteria Catholicism of this Lip Service Catholic, who picks and chooses among the Catholic doctrines he will follow and those he will reject, and still proudly calls himself Catholic.
The only one I listen to for the whole three hours these days is Rush Limbaugh. There, I find the least that I disagree with. Almost nothing. My gut tells me that he knows the mortal danger to America and the civilized world posed by Marxism and by Islam, even though he doesn't come right out and say it. He goes right up to it, and comes closer than anyone else with as big a microphone as his.
Much of the rest of the time, I listen to my CDs; Catholic Latin classics, Gregorian Chant, and American patriotic music. All of the Latin stuff is, essentially, prayer. As background sound, it is soothing; certainly less distracting than talk radio at lunch time, when I eat my lunch and pray my rosary in the vehicle.
And I find it less upsetting and aggravating than someone talking about how their good friend is a homosexual, or uses filthy language but that's OK, or is a Moslem, or is a professed Communist.
What are we becoming?

I have found that Michael Savage has his finger on the pulse of the nation more often than not. You can listen to his radio podcast on You Tube, The Savage Nation. He is passionate, opinionated, and at times a bit pompous, but he is always entertaining as well as informative.
Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.

"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
