Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to the Galatians
Gal 5:25-26; 6:1-10
Brethren: If we live by the Spirit, by the Spirit let us also walk. Let us not become desirous of vainglory, provoking one another, envying one another. Brethren, even if a person is caught doing something wrong, you who are spiritual instruct such a one in a spirit of meekness, considering yourself, lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, whereas he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let everyone test his own work, and so he will have glory in himself only, and not in comparison with another. For each one will bear his own burden. And let him who is instructed in the word share all good things with his teacher. Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For what a man sows in the flesh, from the flesh also will reap corruption. But he who sows in the spirit, from the spirit will reap life everlasting. And in doing good let us not grow tired; for in due time we shall reap if we do not relax. Therefore, while we have time, let us do good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of faith.
R. Thanks be to God.
Continuation ✠ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke
R. Glory be to Thee, O Lord.
At that time, Jesus went to a town called Naim; and His disciples and a large crowd went with Him. And as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was with her. And the Lord, seeing her, had compassion on her, and said to her, Do not weep. And He went up and touched the stretcher; and the bearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise. And he who was dead, sat up, and began to speak. And He gave him to his mother. But fear seized upon all, and they began to glorify God, saying, A great prophet has risen among us, and God has visited His people.
R. Praise be to Thee, O Christ.
S. By the words of the Gospel may our sins be blotted out.
The Fifteenth Sunday After Pentecost
In today’s epistle, Gal 5:25– 6:10, St Paul tells us: “God
will not be mocked. For what a man sows, that he will also
reap. For he who sows in the flesh from the flesh he will
also reap corruption.” How timely is this epistle as revelations of Cardinal McCarrick are being presented in court
about this defrocked, former prelate. Perhaps he thought
he would get away with the evil he has done. Let us pray
that there will be a cleansing of the Church, the Mystical
Bride of Christ, from the top down to each and every
member. Let us start with the man in the mirror. We do
not wish to be a blemish on the wedding gown of the
Bride of Christ! Let us pray for the Holy Father. Remember
that although he is infallible when speaking of faith and
morals from the Chair of St. Peter, this does not make him
impeccable, unable to sin or to make a mistake.. The Holy
Father goes to confession once a week– not because he is
a terrible sinner but because he knows he needs to strive
to be perfect as our Heavenly father is perfect. Let us pray
for him, all the cardinals, bishops and priests, that the
good shepherds —the vast majority—would be protected
but the bad wolves would be cleansed from the magisterium of the Church. God permits evil only that a greater
good might come from it! How great it would be to have
a purified Hierarchy in the Mystical Body of Christ!
We must never forget that we too are members of the
Mystical Body of Christ. What have we done to strengthen that Body? Are we praying for one another? Are we
willing to do our part to build up the Church? Some will
use the present scandals to criticize the Church and even
to stop going to Mass. Are we spending too much time on
the internet and with Googlegossip bashing the Church
and its ministers without knowing the facts? We must remind them DO NOT LEAVE ST.PETER BECAUSE OF JUDAS!
There have always been saints and sinners in the Church.
The devil always seeks to destroy unity in the Church any
way he can. But in the end She will be spotless! The gates
of hell shall NOT prevail against her! And Jesus will be
with His Church until the consummation of the world!
At the root of all of this is the corruptible, devolving cosmos, slowly cruising toward it's own inevitable end, versus the incorruptible and everlasting spirit, which has no end.
It is the flesh versus the spirit, always.
The more we value creation at the expense of valuing the Creator, the more we sink into the idolatry of created things, and the more we see ourselves as responsible for keeping creation in existence, and even perfecting it, as if we were its creators. Replacing God with - us.
Creation is not holy; the Creator is holy. Everything created is not only corruptible, but is in the act of corrupting; of wasting away. Every living thing is not only susceptible to extinction, but is already cruising into its own extinction, right now, as we said in Devolving Man, the Devolution of Life and the Degradation of Matter.
That's not an opinion; it is an actual scientific statement. Take religion out of it, and it still stands, on pure science alone.
The undeniable reality is, that reality is in crash and burn mode. It was designed that way by its Creator. Everything real has a life span; that is the nature of creation and of every creature within it.
If you wonder how man got so far off track, and so full of himself as to forget or deny his own origin, it all begins with God Denial = Nature Denial = Science Denial = Nonsense.
It was on my mind when I wrote Do American Indians (and India-Indians) Practice Earth Idolatry?
It should be on all of our minds when "scientists" insist that
These ideas are not backed by real science, but by real lunacy.
Creation is not ours to do with as we please.
We all had better take a good hard look at creation, and then get down on our knees before our Creator, while we still can.
Seeing ourselves as the saviors of creation could be the destruction of us.
All of "scientific" reality is passing. Life in the Spirit is everlasting.
It is your and each of our own most important free will choice.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
