Taking the Thanksgiving Day Missal Readings to Heart
It's More than a Day of Thanksgiving; It's a Day of Reflection, Re-Dedication And Commitment to Eternal Truth

Thanksgiving Day in America is a day to once again re-read President Washington's Thanksgiving Proclaimation and take the words to heart. That's what our national Thanksgiving is supposed to be about.
The Roman Catholic Daily Missal readings, Latin Rite, for 11/24/22, today, are the readings that are Common Of The Saints.
They who would be Saints are required to stand in and for Truth; as Paul puts it, they are required to preach, entreat and rebuke, in season and out.
Lesson
Lesson from the second letter of St Paul the Apostle to Timothy
2 Tim 4:1-8
Dearly beloved: I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom: Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine. For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables. But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober. For I am even now ready to be sacrificed: and the time of my dissolution is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming.

And they who would would be Saints are called by Matthew "salt of the earth", but warned not to lose their flavor.

Cleanse my heart and my lips, O almighty God, who didst cleanse the lips of the prophet Isaias with a burning coal, and vouchsafe, through Thy gracious mercy, so to purify me, that I may worthily announce Thy holy Gospel. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Give me Thy blessing, O Lord. The Lord be in my heart and on my lips, that I may worthily and in a becoming manner, proclaim His holy Gospel. Amen.

Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

S. By the words of the Gospel may our sins be blotted out.
Be thankful for what we have; but do not lose sight of what we have lost, as a Christian people. We are called to be, as President Reagan put it, a shining city on a hill, and example of success for other nations to follow of their own free will.
What have we allowed ourselves to become?
What have we allowed non-Christians and anti-Christians to turn us into?
Are we still a Christian nation, or are we an ungodly nation.
Give thanks this day for life, for existence, for matter, for space and time. In other words, give thanks to Jesus Christ for all of creation, while you still can. For life, existence, matter, space and time are all passing away, but His Kingdom is eternal.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made. [John 1:1-3]
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. [John 1:10-11]
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. [John 1:14]
I and the Father are one. [John 10:30]
Jesus saith to him: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me. If you had known me, you would without doubt have known my Father also: and from henceforth you shall know him, and you have seen him. Philip saith to him: Lord, shew us the Father, and it is enough for us. Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. How sayest thou, shew us the Father? Do you not believe, that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak to you, I speak not of myself. But the Father who abideth in me, he doth the works. [John 14:6-10]
Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you, before Abraham was made, I am. [John 8:58]
But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said to him: Art thou the Christ the Son of the blessed God? And Jesus said to him: I am. And you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God, and coming with the clouds of heaven. [Mark 14:61-62] and ["I Am" is the name of God which all Jews were forbidden to ever speak]
There are more, but these are sufficient to know that Jesus is God, the Creator of all creation and all creatures, the central figure in the One God Profundity and the One Church Profundity.
If you would become saints you must stand in truth and proclaim it in season and out of season.
This Thanksgiving everyone is tired of the tumult, longing for calm and peace, and insisting that no one speak of religion or politics.
But those are the most important topics of man, and we are called to be saints, and saints proclaim the truth, especially in religion and in politics.
Speak the truth; if any are offended, let them leave.
Perhaps they will return; perhaps not; but truth must prevail, always.
We are supposed to be a Christian people, not a godless, ungodly people.
To be a Christian nation means that our ethics and our secular laws are founded on the rock of the Commandments, the Creeds, the Eucharist, the Precepts and the unchanged Sacred Depositum Fidei.
Not on "fables", like climate-change, the effectiveness of Covid masks and vaccines, the existence of non-binary genders, the "normalcy" and acceptability of all forms of sexual perversion, the non-sacredness of the normative family, the "blessedness" of anti-Christian religions and political ideologies, and everything that is false and opposed to truth.
That includes the increasingly common "ethos" and "morality" common to BMDFP10 , Clintons, Obamas, Bidens, their Party, their bipartisan supporters and the rest of their filthy Swamp.Do not welcome such as those to the feast, but let them go elsewhere.
Let your light shine, and be thankful that it is still lit.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.
