There I was, driving my routes, making my pickups and deliveries, minding my own business and listening to talk-radio in the car. And four different times, on four different topics, something on talk-radio lit my fire and got me all exacerbated over something "conservatives" said. Over once contentious issues that are no longer contentious, but they should be contentious, and that's the problem.
It's the slow, steady, incremental general social acceptance of nonsense. Things that never should have been socially accepted in the first place, but have now become part of the common social view.
First, Clay and Buck refer to "believing" that the 2020 election was corrupted by cheating is a "Self-Defeating belief"
I listen to Clay Travis and Buck Sexton mostly, now that Rush is gone. But I find them more and more aggravating the more Never-Trumper they go, and that is indeed where they are going.
They pretend, and they want us to also pretend, that either there was no cheating in the 2020 election, or, that there couldn't have been enough cheating to change the election results. And I see no compelling reason to believe either of those two things. The cheating was recorded on security cameras for all to see. It was right there in front of our eyes, and we are not supposed to "believe" our own eyes.
Clay, yesterday, opined that, if the 2020 election was indeed stolen, then what's to stop the 2024 election from being stolen?
And the answer is, of course, nothing.
Yet he refers to that answer as a self-defeating belief. Why?
Why would denying all cheating not be the self-defeating position?
The fact that they don't want to believe that elections are ever stolen does not mean that elections are not ever stolen; only that they don't want to believe it, or even look into it in any serious way. They worry more about the appearance of stolen American elections than they do about the ramifications of stolen elections, which America is experiencing in spades right now, thanks to an election with gross cheating recorded on video still being allowed to stand.
Promote faith in the election process; pretend it didn't happen.
An incredibly and dangerously stupid position.
Then, Gregg Jarrett touts his book lionizing Clarence Darrow for his victory in the Scopes Monkey Trial
But the Scopes trial wasn't even a real trial; it was a test case. It was more like a bar-bet than a court trial. Here's what we wrote about it back in the old Darwinism page:

The controversy between creationism and evolution points out perhaps more clearly than any other single issue the deep bias and close-minded bigotry of modern American liberalism and academia in general, and Darwinism in particular. Liberals don’t even care to discuss it, believing that it’s been settled once and for all, and anyone who would question it today obviously didn’t go to the same schools that they went to.
The 1920s Scopes Monkey Trial settled it for them; over the decades it has changed from a court case to a legend, with movies and books describing the case, which the historical record shows was quite complex, as a very simple open and shut case. In point of fact the case for the “fact” of evolution was not settled, or even discussed much. The trial became a media circus due to the colorful attorneys William Jennings Bryan, for the prosecution, and Clarence Darrow, for the defense. Bryan was a self-described “non-literalist” Christian, meaning that he held that the six days of creation described in Genesis did not necessarily represent six modern days, or any other precise amount of time, clocks and calendars not as yet having been invented. Self-descriptions aside, he was a Fundamentalist with a quite literal interpretation of most Scripture. Bryan allowed himself to be maneuvered into taking the stand as an “expert” witness, and grilled, not on Darwinism, not on evolution, but on the Bible, and was humiliated in an absolutely devastating cross examination. The test case trial ended, however, in conviction and a $100 fine; evolution had lost. Bet you didn’t know that.
On appeal a higher court threw out the $100 fine, but still held the anti-evolution teaching law to be constitutional. But due to media coverage including popular presentation to the public by sarcastic journalist H. L. Mencken and then later by Broadway and Hollywood renditions, this trial was an absolute triumph for Darwinism.
Two points: 1) evolution was not discussed as the main point of the trial, religion was; and 2) Bryan was no theologian; he was a lawyer, and not an appropriate spokesman or expert witness to represent the Bible on the witness stand against the likes of Clarence Darrow.
Bryan may have been an able attorney and a capable politician, and in some respects, perhaps, brilliant; but when it came to Christian theology, apologetics and sound Bible scholarship, he was not exactly any great Jesuit scholar.
And he wasn’t half the lawyer Darrow was or he wouldn’t have allowed himself to be tricked into personally defending the Bible, from the stand, instead of prosecuting a misdemeanor, which is what he was supposed to be doing.
In point of fact, the case itself was a test case, with a volunteer teacher, who probably had never even taught evolution, to go on trial; nevertheless, the media created legend involves a bunch of loony tune religious fanatics invading a classroom to persecute a poor, decent, inoffensive science teacher, who is rescued by a the truly heroic efforts of a world renowned anti-superstition attorney.
Rent the Spencer Tracy movie Inherit The Wind some night for this viewpoint. But correct science is not determined in the American courts, or on any other stage.
Where was the "science" in any of this?
At question was not the banning of any book, but the teaching of evolution in schools as if it were proved science, which it was not, and still is not. In fact, it is disproved, in multiple ways. But evolution itself was hardly even addressed in the court case. The Bible was, and it was defended by a non-expert who couldn't even answer even the simplest questions about what it said.
None of that matters any more, and that's the problem. A falsified theory is now commonly held to be scientifically true, and belief in God and in Scripture are thus reduced if not eliminated in many minds, and that was and remains the goal of the religious-cleansing secularists.
That's how Clarence Darrow did science. And that's how Gregg Jarrett does Science, and apparently, that's how he does law, too.

Everyone in talk radio jumped on this one. Everyone today seems to accept if not celebrate sodomy in American society, but the Bud-Light, Target, etc. adds promoting transsexual lifestyles or bathing suits is seen as too much.
Why? How, exactly, is sodomy compatible in Christianity or Judaism?
What the hell is wrong with a nation, or a religion, or a corporation, or a school, or an institution, or a family that has made itself complacent if not celebratory about sodomic relationships within its borders?
Where, exactly, did anyone think the blessing of sodomy would lead?
They look at Tranny-ism and think that is the slippery slope; but the slippery slope was past long ago. This is the cliff.
It's the homosexuality, stupid.
Complex Volunteer/Assigned "Armed Guard" Approaches To End Mass School Shootings
Again, everyone has an idea for getting armed deterrence into schools to put an end to school shootings. The variations are unlimited. Retired old fart veteran volunteers. Assigned and paid off-duty cops. Trained carrying teachers or other employees. Special door locks, single-entry and exit schools, bullet-proof glass, etc., etc., etc.
Everything other than locking up loony tunes and criminals, and other than abolishing all unconstitutional gun control laws.
"Red Flag" laws, if enacted, ought to lock up people, not their guns.
Every single gun control law, at every single level, is unconstitutional. Gun registration is unconstitutional. Gun dealer licensing is unconstitutional. Interstate gun sale laws are unconstitutional. All local, city, county, state and federal gun control laws are unconstitutional.
The second amendment grants the citizenry the unlimited absolute right to keep and bear arms, and forbids any level of government from infringing on that right.
- To keep means to possess;
- to bear means to carry;
- arms means weapons of war.
Those are the meanings the authors intended, and those are the meanings the ratifiers ratified.
As the chief law enforcement officer of America who is sworn in his oath of office to uphold, obey and protect the constitution, any President with the balls to do it could declare all gun registration and gun control laws of any kind to be null and void by simple declaration, and let any opponents try to get a constitutional amendment ratified to restore their ability to infringe on that absolute right.
If we just went back to the way it was the day after the Constitution was ratified mass shootings would soon come to a screeching halt. Crime will always be with us, but when the criminals are the only ones allowed to be armed, crime rises. And when the law abiding citizenry are armed, crime lowers. That's the way it is.
I'm tired of arguing that the lunatics never should have been turned out of the asylums and the convicts never should have been turned out of the prisons. And I'm tired of all the government (Marxocrat?) advertisements trying to "de-stigmatize" lunatics, dopers and criminals. They are supposed to be stigmatized, and the law abiding citizenry have every right to know who and what they are.
Outlaw gun control laws and watch crime go down. Watch even New York subways become safe again. Watch the BLM, Antifa, anarchist and flash-mob looters suddenly disappear from the scene. It's a bit harder to loot or burn or rob a business when a majority of the former victim business owners, employees and clientele suddenly turn and become a serious threat to life and limb.

Vic, no matter how you feel about it and no matter what you believe about it, campaigning on the stolen 2020 stolen election is a losing campaign, just like campaigning for 100% ban on abortions is a losing campaign. Politics is the art of getting the most votes, and you can't win an election by treating contentious issues as if there were no shades of gray and no grounds for compromise.

So, in other words, pretending the 2020 election was perfectly valid and never mentioning it ever again is a winning strategy, and not an American nation ending strategy? I ain't buying it. Election cheating is the most dangerous issue facing Constitutional America in at least a century, if not in the whole history of the nation. I will never pretend it didn't happen and isn't still happening.
As far as the national argument over abortion goes, it shouldn't even exist. Abortion is not among the limited and enumerated legislative powers of the federal government. That means it is not open for discussion at the federal level. The whole reason for making America a constitutional republic rather than a simple democracy was to prevent that very sort of argument. The federal government is prohibited from imposing religion (i.e., morality) on the sovereign states and the sovereign citizenry. The states and the citizens make up their own minds about such things.
If it can't be legislated one way or the other at the federal level, that means that the original establishment of federal "abortion rights" was done unconstitutionally, which is to say, illegally, which is to say, criminally. In direct violation of the supreme law of the land.
The whole reason we are a constitutional republic and not a democracy is because people change their minds all the time, but right and wrong do not ever change.
Ever.
If the whole nation voted for abortion, it would still be wrong.
