The big difference between the USA and all other nations is that America, on paper, is not ruled by political parties. Of course, that's only true on paper, and the particular paper we're talking about is the American Constitution, which, on paper, is the sole ruler of the USA.
In truth, the USA is illegally and illegitimately ruled by political parties, just like almost all other nations, despite what her constitution says.
We are not a democracy, and we are not a democratic republic. We are a constitutional republic, unlike any other, and that is totally different than a democratic republic. The constitution takes legal precedence over our democracy. The people can be wrong; the voters can be tricked; pure democracy descends into mob-rule. The authors and ratifiers of the constitution took great pains to see that we were a constitutional republic, and not a democracy.
Every other nation on earth that is not tribal or ruled by dynastic royalty is really being run by one or more political parties. Nations that call themselves republics, or democracies, or democratic republics, or parliamentary democracies, or any kind of socialist, are really run by political parties. They are either dictatorships under one party rule, or they are ruled by coalitions of multiple political parties which, even while sharing ruling power, are still competing with each other in the never ending inter-party competition to ultimately achieve one party rule, which always winds up being dictatorship.
Nations like China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, Russia, Iran, Venzuela, etc., whom everyone thinks of as being ruled by a strong man dictator are all really ruled by one political party. Whoever manages to finagle his way into control of that party is the absolute dictator, as long as he can maintain control of the party against all party dictator wannabes.
Once one party rule is accomplished, the nation becomes a dictatorship and the government - the political party - begins eliminating all opposition. One party rule always goes even more ruthless than it was in the open competition to achieve one party rule. Opposing parties, organizations and people are then either executed, imprisoned or exiled. From that point on no opposition to one party rule will be tolerated.
Read retiring President George Washington's warning against the "Spirit Of Party" that he saw competing with the constitution for ruling power in his farewell address:
... In contemplating the causes which may disturb our Union, it occurs as matter of serious concern that any ground should have been furnished for characterizing parties by geographical discriminations, Northern and Southern, Atlantic and Western; whence designing men may endeavor to excite a belief that there is a real difference of local interests and views. One of the expedients of party to acquire influence within particular districts is to misrepresent the opinions and aims of other districts. You cannot shield yourselves too much against the jealousies and heartburnings which spring from these misrepresentations; they tend to render alien to each other those who ought to be bound together by fraternal affection. The inhabitants of our Western country have lately had a useful lesson on this head; they have seen, in the negotiation by the Executive, and in the unanimous ratification by the Senate, of the treaty with Spain, and in the universal satisfaction at that event, throughout the United States, a decisive proof how unfounded were the suspicions propagated among them of a policy in the General Government and in the Atlantic States unfriendly to their interests in regard to the Mississippi; they have been witnesses to the formation of two treaties, that with Great Britain, and that with Spain, which secure to them everything they could desire, in respect to our foreign relations, towards confirming their prosperity. Will it not be their wisdom to rely for the preservation of these advantages on the Union by which they were procured ? Will they not henceforth be deaf to those advisers, if such there are, who would sever them from their brethren and connect them with aliens? ...
... All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests. ...
... I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally.
This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy.
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume. ...
... In offering to you, my countrymen, these counsels of an old and affectionate friend, I dare not hope they will make the strong and lasting impression I could wish; that they will control the usual current of the passions, or prevent our nation from running the course which has hitherto marked the destiny of nations. But, if I may even flatter myself that they may be productive of some partial benefit, some occasional good; that they may now and then recur to moderate the fury of party spirit, to warn against the mischiefs of foreign intrigue, to guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism; this hope will be a full recompense for the solicitude for your welfare, by which they have been dictated. ...
But his warning was unheeded, and party rule came to be, almost immediately. Not by men who intended to do harm to constitutional America, but by men of good intention who did not heed Washington's warning. Political parties provided ways to combine, accumulate, centralize and focus political power, and, of course, power corrupts.
Today the Trump administration is meticulously uncovering evidence of how the Marxocrat Party invented the treasonous Russia Russia Russia hoax during the lame-duck period between President Obama leaving office and the inauguration of President Trump.
And everyone thinks that is something new, unique, never happened before, and it's the worst scandal of all time.
No one remembers the Presidential election of 1800, when Vice President Thomas Jefferson of the Democratic Republican Party beat the incumbent President John Adams of the Federalist Party. It was yet another and perhaps the very first American incident of a power-hungry political party secretly and illegally laying political traps for an incoming President during a lame-duck period between Presidencies. That lame duck session brought us our first "court stacking" dirty politics.
Go read the Judicial Review Page to see how "Court Stacking" by a political party first became a unique American dirty political trick in the leadup to and fraudulent adjudication of the Marbury v Madison case.
As far as we know, no other nation on earth has a lame duck period between administrations. All other new national administrations just naturally assume all governing authority upon winning elections.
Do you begin to see why we recommend the elimination of lame duck sessions between Presidencies? The day the Presidential election is settled should be the day the incumbent leaves office and the elected President takes the oath and assumes office, regardless of when any inauguration celebration takes place.
No outgoing President, during a lame duck period, should be able to,
- Pardon anyone he would not have pardoned before the election;
- Lay any dirty political traps for an incoming President.
The downright treasonous lame duck session between the Obama and Trump Presidencies proves the case.
We worried about the lame-duck session between the Biden and Trump 47 elections, and we wanted to end all lame-duck sessions back in 2018.
Political parties should not be ruling either house of congress, the Presidency, the courts or any agency of the federal government.
Once again, as we have said over and over again, constitutionally speaking, the sole national ruler of America, the American citizenry, the American states, the American Presidency, the American Congress and the American Judiciary is the Constitution.
It needs to be restated. It needs to be educated. it needs to be enforced.
The constitution, again, is a legal document, written in English, that says very specific legal things. It is the supreme law of the land. It gives the federal government its full operating instructions and its limitations and scope of operation. It make no mention of pollical parties.
It is the owner-operator manual for,
- the house of representatives
- the senate
- the presidency
- the judiciary
It is self-interpreting; it is plain English.
America will not be great again unless and until,
- Political Parties are outlawed;
- Lame-duck periods are eliminated;
- Woodrow Wilson's national poisons are eliminated.
