Back in 2011, when we were still "Novus Ordo" Catholics, at a "New Order" Mass, I was so impressed with the homily of an unnamed Priest that I copied it herein, with permission, at Of Weeds and Wheat. Today, in the Latin Rite calendar, this is the fifth Sunday after Epiphany, which you can see at the Latin Missal Readings, select "Missale" at the top and then put in 11-12-2023 as the date. It's the same readings, different calendar.
And so this "revisit" of the readings, in light of today's social turmoil, war and world cultural revolution. America, and other Western nations, and Israel, too, are in danger of going near totally atheist, at least in their leadership and in their governments.
Because of the weeds grown up within.
An enemy has planted evil Islamo-Commie-Homo seeds in the hearts and minds of Christians and Jews.
Americanism, the declared heresy, was aimed at the thinking behind the French Revolution which was aping the American Revolution except that (1) it was militantly atheist and/or anti-Catholic, and (2) it was trying to be absolutely democratic; an impossibility. All of that is why it failed and wound up being ruled by Emperor Napoleon Boneparte, a pure selfist who crowned himself and got away with it.
After the first "democratic" terrorism that fed nuns through Madame Guillotine just because they were nuns, and aristocrats just because they were aristocrats, and nobility just because they were of noble birth.
The reason the American Revolution won and survives today is that it was not atheist, not rabidly anti-Catholic and certainly not democratic. While it was always threatening to go both atheist and anti-Catholic, and also purely democratic, it never did. Almost, but no cigar.
One original American colony was Catholic, just about all American government and private sector meetings began with Christian prayer, and the design of the new Constitutional Republic went way out of its way to not be a democracy, and to temper or tamp-down the power of the popular vote everywhere it could reasonably do so and still be representative of the people.
The majority can be fooled, and even when not fooled, the majority can be wrong, and often is. Democracy descends into mob-rule. Consider the infuriated lynch-mob. Consider the Pharisee-incited mob that cried out "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!". Consider how Marxism slyly induces democracy on populations as a stepping-stone into evil socialism:
Democracy, as a form of national government, simply does not work. That's why Marxists are always so anxious to promote it, because they know it will fail and they will be waiting to capitalize on the failure.
Moral absolutes are not up for a vote. They are permanent; fixed forever. Democracy cannot change that.
No majority can change right versus wrong by simple majority vote. That which is intrinsically wrong is wrong forever; no vote, no man and no majority can ever change that. It is wrong forever.
Narcissistic selfists and other evil people hate that, but it remains true.
All democracy can change is the way people think about or believe in right versus wrong; but democracy cannot change right versus wrong.
Like so many of Paul's letters, it addresses his fellow members of "the body of Christ", which is to say, the Church Militant. The "brothers" in Christ, and how they are to interact with each other and treat each other. Note well that the whole world population is not being addressed, but the Church; those who were members of the body of Christ.
He called them to admonish one another and to raise one another up. To forgive each other as Christ forgave them. To settle their grievances with each other between them, without going to court. This theme should sound familiar, for it is all over the New Testament.
Usery, for example, is forbidden to brotherly loans. If a brother, whether a sibling or a member of the Church, or a friend, or a neighbor, is in need, if you can do it, you lend to him what he needs, not only at no interest, but ready to forgive the loan entirely if it cannot be paid back. Brothers do not charge interest to brothers; brothers do not go to law against brothers.
Not so with bankers, who are in the business of using money to make money; that is how they make their living, by loaning money and charging interest, which in their case is not a sin. (Matt 25:14-30)
Furthermore, everyone on earth is not your brother.
I am only an imperfect layman, but that is how I see the Word.
This is the Parable of the wheat and the weeds. The owner (the Lord) sowed good wheat seed, but while he slept, the enemy (the devil) came and sowed evil cockle seed over the same ground.
The wheat and the cockles sprouted and grew together, and was seen. But if the weeds were pulled while the wheat was young, much or most of the wheat would come up with it. So, in the wisdom of the Lord, both were left to grow and strengthen until the time of harvest. Then the wheat was to be gathered into the barns, but the weeds would be separated to be thrown into the fire.
Again, in my mere layman's interpretation, God sowed the seeds of Truth into the hearts and minds of the brotherhood, but then Satan came in the dark of night and sowed the seeds of falsehood into the same hearts and minds of the brotherhood.
And the love of God and the hatred of God grew up together. As did the love of life and the hatred of life; the love of the family and the hatred of the family; the love of country and the hatred of country; the love of self and the hatred of self.
The love of brothers and the hatred of brothers.
And that is how the bogus "right" to the unwarranted taking of innocent human life from human babies still in the womb just became enshrined as part of the Ohio state constitution. Democratically, if not by election cheating. By majority vote. As if that could make a wrong into a right.
And the Marxocrat Party cheered.
I know, we're supposed to wait for the final harvest, to separate the wheat from the weeds. But I am frustrated in my human weakness. I expressed this frustration in the Election Cheating treatment.
And when I look at the murderous weeds that have grown and are still growing out of the evil, enemy Islamo-Commie-Homo seeds, patience begins to hit the breaking point. Take a good long look at the recently posted Fundamental Life Versus Technocratic Life treatment for the murderous, genocidal and enslaving intentions of the Islamists, Marxists, Globalists and Militant Hedonists who are right here among us, let alone those who are out there in the "axis of evil" nations.
Allowed to not be shunned and instead be allowed to become an unopposed part of the Christian-American brotherhood. Weeds like homosexuality, abortion, black supremacy, feminine supremacy, transsexualism, contraception, divorce and remarriage, fornication, pornography and every form of perversion under the sun grew ever increasingly proud, belligerent and antagonistic to normalcy, decency and the social norms of the entire human culture.
Sin went politically and psychologically activist, to the point of becoming extremely belligerent and antagonistic political movements, even to the point of violence.
Anti-Morality, Immorality, militant atheism, anti-Christianity, antisemitism, anti-white racism, anti-male, anti-fatherhood and anti-paternal family and even abortion, i.e., anti-motherhood, all now have quite strong political voices right here in America, in the population and in the political party driven government.
Mostly in the Marxocrat Party, but all of these evil movements have strong representation among the Republicrats too.
The parties themselves are unconstitutional weeds.
I am too weak for that. I am not strong enough. I admit it.
The final harvest cannot come too soon for me.
Until the Second Coming, I cannot stand by and let the revolutionaries, whether they be Marxist, Hamas, Palestinian, Islam, etc., etc., etc., have their way with my wife, my family or my country without a fight.
Again, in my perhaps poor layman's interpretation, the "judge not lest ye be judged" interpreters are the ones gone off the tracks, who took a lot of good people with them. John 7:24 tells us to judge not as the world judges, but to judge rightly.
The world is judging us, and I say, to hell with the world.
Good judgement is what used to separate decent adults from children, incompetents and criminals. And decency from indecency. It may be out of fashion around here today, but adult judgement ain't dead yet.
When this ongoing cultural revolution goes hot, and it will, let it be remembered that all of the enemies of America, the enemies of the family and the enemies of God are not foreigners.
Most of them are now our "brothers", right here in our nation, right here in our states, right here in our neighborhoods, and even right here in our own families and in our own homes.
They are the weeds we allowed to grow up within us.
It's getting close to lock and load time. Or, if you are stronger than me, it's time to pray, and wait patiently for the final judgment, and just take whatever comes.
I can't do that.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport. Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.
Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life; please God, and live forever.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
Broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matthew 7:13–15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator's supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights." --Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others." --St. Francis of Assisi
