First, on the matter of terminology: what we are talking about here is illegal aliens in our country. Not “undocumented workers” and not even “illegal immigrants,” but plain and simple illegal aliens. They have filled out no immigration papers; they have applied for no work visas or permits; they are aliens, and they are here illegally. They broke the laws of at least two countries to get here, and they violate our law every day that they stay here. We know nothing about who they are or what they are doing here; all we know is that they are aliens and they are here illegally.
OK? With that out of the way, we may proceed.
I'm so tired of hearing, again and again, the current Ding-Bat argument that calls us to imagine life in America if Mexico didn't exist. The silly twits who call us to this thought experiment tell us, our wine and produce expenses would rocket beyond our income, we would no longer have nannies and gardeners and servants, and so forth. Causing a major, major change in our American lifestyle.
QUESTION: Do you have a nanny, or a gardener, or any servants, and do you drink lots of wine as a major part of your normal diet?
ANSWER: That's funny, neither do we.It seems to be a question better put to the Oprah's and the Cosby's of the world, and those who live in the rarified atmosphere of places like Beverly Hills, or maybe Capital Hill, or who work in the SLIMC1 . These are the ones who, if they don't employ illegals, probably hobnob with people who do.
It might be interesting to see our Southern neighbors try the thought experiment entailing imagining how life in Mexico would be if there were no such thing as the United States of America right on their Northern border. There would be no one outside of their own country to point an imbecilic finger at, and to blame for the economic impoverishment of so many Mexicans. The question is whether they would look for internal causes, or look at some other outside scapegoat, such as, all those richer people in Brazil, or somewhere. All the crapola we see and hear and read coming out of the SLIMC1 points out how we consume more (without mention of how we produce more, and export more) of stuff than the Third World, and that's why they're poor, and we are relatively rich. Well, no poop. That's what free people do when allowed to operate in a free marketplace.
QUESTION: What have we done to make the people of any Third World country less free, or to make their own marketplace less open?
ANSWER: Nothing whatsoever.
I pretty well laid out how to get the illegals to leave America in an earlier illegal alien blog on the subject. Go there to see the details; I'm not going to rehash the whole thing here. Suffice it to say that it shouldn't cost us anything to get them to go home, or to some other place to make money. The actual labor market for them would be a relatively easy thing to kill. Or, at least, temporarily kill, allowing eventual replacement with a legal labor market, doing the same work. Now, the SLIMC1 would have us believe that we couldn't survive if the price of so much of our fruit and vegetables and other foods, and some other items, rocket as they predict, if all the illegals leave our shores.
Horse patooties. Free markets have a self settling mechanism that rides on eventually averaging waves of supply and demand, with all sorts of spikes in prices. The market itself takes care of these problems. If the price of American fruit temporarily goes through the roof, two things will happen: demand will go down, and, imports from somewhere else will go up. Both of these reactions will operate to bring prices right back down. Major price hikes putting tomatoes, for instance, completely out of our price range would be so temporary as to nearly be unnoticed. Many of us, even in cities, still grow our own.
And, as I said in the earlier illegal alien blog, the longer-range plan is to replace the illegal job market with a legal one. Which the Dems, of course, will oppose, with all their might. I think a lot of them like having someone under their thumb, who they can order around, and who will not complain too loudly about any miss-treatment.
Of course, that's just an opinion.
The only people who might suffer real loss by the legal closing of the illegal job market are those businesses who totally depend on it for their business. The time it might take to replace the numbers of illegal workers with legal ones might be long enough to put some such businesses out of business. If so, well, good. They shouldn't have been involved in an illegal business to begin with. Perhaps it's time for them to try another business, preferably a legal one.
One other point involves how, we are assured by all supporters of illegal alien workers in America, all these illegal alien's pay taxes here. Oh, really? I wonder whose social security numbers they, and their employers, use?
I ain't buying it.
Our Constitution is written for us, not for the world; we pay taxes to support our national defense and infrastructure, not everybody else's. This is not a so-called Global Village, at least not yet. So long as we remain a sovereign nation, and so long as the ordinary American citizen is the real sovereign in this land, and so long as we still enjoy Lincoln's government of the people, by the people, for the people, then we have just as much right and just as much responsibility to govern our own borders and our own immigration laws as does any other nation on Earth.
May God continue to bless the USA.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

There is nothing wrong with our current border law except for the fact that the government is criminally not enforcing it, as the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, insists. There is nothing wrong with our current immigration law except for the fact that the government is criminally not enforcing it, as the Constitution, the supreme law of the land, insists. By not enforcing Constitutional law, in violation of their oaths of office, our government is engaging in criminal activity.

How is it that opposing amnesty for millions of illegal aliens is "arrogant"? If my pro-Catholic, pro-American, anti-alternative-ethos position is "arrogant," then, exactly what is the position of those who claim superiority or even equality with it?

"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction.
