Yesterday being Veteran's Day, there were all sorts of rehashes of wars and battles, and of course, on Veteran's Day, the commentariat could hardly be expected to not mention Vietnam a number of times, on radio, on TV and in print. And all the old pro-Communist anti-American lies about the whole history of it were repeated. Smoothly; easily; without the slightest hint of objection to any of it. A flagrant lie would be just glibly and hastily repeated, as if it were common knowledge (which they have made it to be) and the commentator would just move on to other topics.
Four news media lies in particular really bugged me.
1: The Americans were a largely conscripted military force who hated military service didn't really want to be there.
For the record, I am a Vietnam veteran who was never drafted; I enlisted, and I am certainly not the only one. If the true figures were known, it might be that there were more enlistees there than draftees, particularly among those who aggressively went after the enemy and did most of the fighting. The media would have you believe that all those Marines who went to Vietnam were drafted.
Only in Hollywood movies do unwilling disgruntled draftees somehow wind up in the Marines, or Airborne, or Rangers, or Special Forces.
2: The Vietnam War was unpopular because it was the wrong war fought for the wrong reasons.
It was unpopular, sure enough, but the media doesn't tell you why, because the media doesn't want to incriminate itself. The media was on the Communist side, with Walter Cronkite (the deep-state master Communist propagandist operating under cover as a news reporter) in the lead and showing the rest of them how to do it. Cronkite and the media got the students out in the streets of America, burning and rioting on campus and off, and he even took down the Presidency of Lyndon B. Johnson.
Johnson had been a typical racist Democrat, was morphing into a modern day race-bating Marxocrat, but his unpardonable sin was in actually trying to win the Vietnam War against the Communists, although he was using the fatally flawed Limited War strategy to do it. But that was a sin Cronkite and the rest of the Marxist media could not abide. Solely because of the Marxist media, the war was lost, not on the battlefield, but on the burning streets of America and in the halls of Congress.
3: The Vietnam War was actually a civil war and we had no business interfering in it.
Nonsense. Ho Chi Minh wasn't even Vietnamese, he was Russian. He was Vietnamese only by ethnicity, not by nationality. It was a typical Communist infiltration and invasive takeover masquerading as an internal "popular revolution". The media consistently portrayed Poppa Ho as a warm, wonderful human being who loved puppy dogs and small children, and consistently portrayed President Johnson as some kind of war crazed maniac, and American fighting men as baby killers and war criminals.
4: The Tet Offensive was a massive political victory for the Viet Cong.
The Tet Offensive was one of the most lopsided military victories for the American side ever recorded in the annals of war. The Viet Cong (Vietnamese Communists) initiated coordinated attacks all over South Vietnam against American and South Vietnamese controlled areas and bases. When it was over, North Vietnamese regulars had to be used to prosecute any and every part of the war, because there weren't enough Viet Cong left alive to carry on the fight. It was an enormous slaughter.
What the media won't tell you is why this monumental military victory for America was made into a huge political victory for Communism.
Because they did it.
They reported it as a major Viet Cong victory over American forces. They lied about it. They hammered the lie. Cronkite got all choked up over it on the air, and nearly sobbed over it. The lie was never effectively resisted, and it was largely believed.
Here's a quote about it from the Vietnam War page:
So, how do you know when a typical American journalist is lying?
It is only when his mouth is open and words are coming out.
So, the media lit my fire again yesterday, and I had to get this off my chest. I feel better now. Just writing about it is cathartic. But it still bugs me to no end that such monstrous lies persist through history.
They are repeated in history books, student text books, documentaries about the war, everywhere you look; you can hardly get away from it, and every Veteran's Day, sure as hell, you will hear them repeated again.
The anti-American news media will always be dishonored in my sight.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
