How many Americans - indeed, how many American Catholics - don't think about their soul at all. Can't even define what it is. Are too busy with life to dwell on anything as ephemeral and other-worldly as the very idea of a soul and an afterlife for any length of time. It's a Sunday only thing; something to be reminded of now and then, and to try to not lose track of, but ... but ... we live in this physical world, and we've got to go back to work, and pay the bills, and take care of the kid's needs. And we need our recreation and our entertainment and our just relax time, too.
Everything in this world is a detraction from the importance of the soul.
The human brain is a remarkable engine that drives all the other parts of the human body, and, more importantly, it drives our thinking. And that, thought itself, is separate from the physical brain. It is immaterial, yet much of it is not ephemeral; memory, for instance, is long lasting, and unique, from individual to individual. But it is still immaterial. It is not part of the brain.
Atheistic materialists dispute that, and hold that human thought is indeed material, and can be scientifically examined, a notion we refuted in the Reason Versus Materialism treatment. But they still cling to it, insisting that all there is is matter. "Naturalists" know all about matter, which is natural, and they hold that there is no such thing as the supernatural. The very idea upsets their "natural" view of everything.
They are wrong.
So, what part of thinking is the soul? The soul is three interacting parts:
It is the Spirit part of man; it is what separates us from all other animals. No other animal has intellect, reason and will. This is the most important part of the human mind, and it has the power to control all the actions of the human body and all of its parts.
The one thing the atheistic materialists (Naturalists) will never understand is the very natural, pre-ordained, created, beginning state of the human soul. The human being, as yet unaltered by the world, instinctively knows that he is created, he has a Creator, and that his will must be aligned as perfectly as possible with the will of his Creator God.
Catholics know, or should know, a great deal about the will of God; it is in their very Catholic sensus fidei, their unique Catholic way of thinking. It is backed up by the whole sacred deposit of faith, the Revelation of God to man, which permanently closed with the death of the last original Apostle.
The will of God is found in the original Gospel, which cannot be added to, subtracted from or changed in any way. No mere created man can dare preach another gospel and escape the ultimate will of God, as Paul said in his letter to the Galatians:
Strong words. He said if "we", meaning, including him, Paul - or even an angel from heaven - preached another gospel, let him be anathema. There's no getting around it. We are supposed to separate from those who are anathematized.
But we haven't even anathematized them.
We are called to know the Gospel, and therefore, we are called to know the will of God.
In Weaponizing Everything, we identified the proper Catholic American priorities as being, first, God, then family, and then country.
Aligning our will with the will of God is good for:
You cannot name the way in which personal alignment of your will with the will of God will harm your soul.
You cannot name the way in which personal alignment of your will with the will of God will harm your family.
You cannot name the way in which personal alignment of your will with the will of God will harm your country.
Getting our priorities straight will not only get us into heaven, but go a long ways toward getting our families into heaven, and saving the soul of our nation.
Even the various Protestants, who's intellect has been deformed by heretical education and upbringing, still have the residue of the original natural soul, in that they instinctively know that,
They can be loved and honored as our American brothers-in-arms, and loved and respected as honorable neighbors, even if they cannot be welcomed into full communion with us in the Catholic Church.
Don't look now, but,
Still, the true meaning of peace is the natural instinct to align your will with the will of God. If other Christians and Jews do that imperfectly or incorrectly, they still do it.
Real peace has nothing to do with war, or safety. What real peace consists of three things: knowing that our all-powerful creator God is real, properly fearing our God, and knowing that God loves us. That, and only that, is real peace.
We need today to pay more attention to our souls because the soul is the conduit, the pipeline, the communication line between not only our animal side and our spirit side; it is our antenna by which the Holy Ghost can activate our wills, enliven them, and aline them with His will.
And whatever the Holy Gost says to any of us is of far, far greater importance than whatever the world has to say.
That is your true nature. Your soul yearns for the comfort of God. To align your will with the will of God is to find true freedom. The better your do that, the better it will be for your own eternal life, for your family and for your country.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport. Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
Broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matthew 7:13–15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator's supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights." --Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others." --St. Francis of Assisi
