On Truth and Falsehood: Defining Good, and Defining Evil.
Truth (i.e., God) is at the center of all creation (i.e., reality). Whatsoever opposes any part of existence (i.e., reality) thereby opposes Truth, and thus, is evil.
Whatever is real is good. God said so.

Back in the Reason Versus Materialism argument, we challenged the logic and the science behind the whole "material comes from material" theory, pointing back to the causality question, which inevitably points man to the primal cause, or first cause of all other causes question.
The unavoidable and inevitable answer is the One God Profundity.
Both material science and theological science, objectively applied, wind up right there. You can't get around it. That is, you can't get around it without lying about it, or without being fooled. Because it is real.
This unavoidable conclusion leads us to the One Important Principle by which we are all called to order our lives. We said, in that article, that once you recognized and applied that One Important Principle, everything else would begin to take care of itself, and the whole world would make more sense. That is the one principle that finally delivers good order and orderliness to the mind that will accept it, and to the human culture that will accept it.
Recognizing the one-and-only-one-God profundity points man to the one-and-only-one-true-religion profundity. If there is one God, then there can only be one true Church. Not multiples. Only one can be real.
Remember, we're talking reality here; there is only one reality.
No one can say "what's true for you isn't true for me", for whatever you are talking about, it is either true or it is false, for everyone, always. That is the nature of reality, and there is only one reality.
So, with this knowledge of one God, one Church and one physical reality, how are we to order our lives, individually, and as a human culture?
The question for the Godly boils down to this:
- How are we to rule ourselves,
- and how is our distinct Godly culture to be ruled?
By the permanent laws of God, or, by the variable rule of fallen man?
Orthodox Icon of Samuel, Judge and ProphetIn The Way, The Truth and The Life, we addressed the history surrounding the movement from rule of law to rule of kings. There we quoted 1 Samuel 8:1-22, the story of how the people of Israel insisted on having a king appointed over them. God was opposed to it, but respecting the free-will He had given them, He allowed it, through His judge, Samuel.
It was after some of the judges themselves were corrupted and violated the law that the people began to clamor for a king.
Until that time, Israel was under the law, and not under any king. The judges, like our courts today, adjudicated the law; they did not rule. Each man ruled himself. Not perfectly; that's why they had judges, for when any went astray of the law. Children were raised up in the faith and taught the law from early childhood. This is what is meant by the "properly formed conscience". The honest, God fearing man of good conscience does not need any king or ruler to tell him what to do. It is only the outlaw who needs to be controlled or restrained, or expelled.

Thus it came to be that the rule of law began to be replaced by the rule of man. Because God gave man free will, and intended for man to make use of his free will, out of respect for man and his free will, God allowed man to make such decisions and suffer such consequences. There followed Saul, and David, and Solomon. There was good in each, and there was bad in each, but the important thing is this: it was a very significant turning point. From the appointment of the first king, there began a growing emphasis on worldly attentions, and a lessening of emphasis on the will of God.
From that day on, until the founding of America, the entire history of the world ever increasingly involved conquest, rule by might, cruelty, injustice, slavery, and a rigid, fixed, permanent class division between nobility and serf, and the increasing ability of the few to use the many to their own advantage. All of this was in opposition to the way the truth and the life. It was all predicted in 1 Samuel 8 above.
In Western Civilization - the growing human culture that recognized, however imperfectly, the One Important Thing, all of this changed for the worse with Luther's revolt, the fracturing of Christianity and the Reformation Wars. Beginning with the Peace of Augsburg and ending with the Peace of Westphalia, Cuius Regio, eius religio (whose realm, their religion) became the law all across Europe. Kings, Princes and Nobles declared, and enforced, the "religion" in their realms, to the condemnation and suppression of all other religions.
Protestantism had invented the radical combination of Church and state.
So there was the one and only one true Church, there was the church of Luther, the church of Calvin, the church of Zwingly, etc., and your state government determined your religion for you, and you had nothing whatsoever to say about it.
In Western, "Christian" lands, kings, princes and nobles chose (or invented, in the case of Henry VIII) a "denomination" and began to rule in a new way, outside of the one and only one Church of the one and only one God.
They made new "realities" for themselves, of benefit to themselves.
If the Creator is the center of reality, then evil opposes reality.
I cannot "see" Satan, and I don't want to see him. But I can see his tracks. I can see what he has done. I know what he intends to do, because he is the opposite of God, Who is the Truth.
Opposition to Truth, i.e., opposition to Reality, is the definition of Evil.
Evil = Falsehood. Falsehood is the unmistakable signature of Satan.
The original colonizing, founding and constituting of the USA presented to the Catholic Church the best opportunity to "evangelize" Protestants and others into the one true faith since the Reformation, and perhaps since 1 Samuel 8.
Because it was a return to rule by law and not by fallen man.
First, the early colonies came to be avoid the religious persecution of the European kings and nobles. Each original colony was a declared theocracy, but each did not force all inhabitants to worship and tithe to the official religion of the colony. That sort of thing was what they came here to avoid. The Constitution, which could not be ratified without the Bill Of Rights being included, forbade the establishment of a state religion for the nation, as the very first statement in the First Amendment. In short order, all of the states (colonies) adopted the same principle in their own state constitutions and eliminated their own official religions from their law.
The American constitution established the principle of citizen sovereignty. It eliminated rule by man, and established rule by law. The constitution declared itself to be the supreme law of the land.
America's supreme ruler is a piece of paper.
We are ruled by the constitution, and not by the government.
We are governed by the temporary constitutional government, but the constitution rules them, too. We all stand equal before the law. The temporary government is supposed to be comprise of - us.
We the people. Any of us can run for office. And, office is temporary.
The constitution is the owner-operator manual for the running of America. It defines the three coequal branches, provides their full operating instructions, their limitations and their powers.
American government is temporary; the constitution is permanent.
The Islamo-Commie-Homo movement, now dominating the Roman Catholic hierarchy, the American Unicratic Party (and all political parties) and the global "Reset", opposes the whole notion of rule by law, the principle of the sovereign citizen, morality, property, the family and everything that is true = real = of God.
The CDC is a good example of what we're talking about here.
If you look at Article 1 Section 1, and at Article 1 Section 8, you see that the CDC is an unconstitutional and therefore illegal entity to begin with. And yet, it issues "regulations" with full force of law behind them, which may be likened to an Islamic Fatwah or a Marxian Diktat. Issued by nameless, faceless, unelected, unrepresentative, unaccountable, swamp creatures, or publicity-hungry liars such as "Doctors" Fauci and Birx.
I submit that if you were able to put a condom over your head you could not breath. And yet, a condom provides no protection against any virus. Nevertheless, according to CDC diktats, you must wear a cloth mask, through which you can still breath, as protection against the current communist plandemic.
Everything about the CDC is false. The CDC lies. It is just one of many, many unconstitutional, illegal federal bureaucracies. Not only does the CDC lie, but the CDC itself is a lie. A falsehood. As is the Dept. of Education, and so many more unconstitutional bureaucracies comprising the Washington Swamp.
The unmistakable signature of Satan is all over them.
In the recent He who lives by the lie, dies by the lie, we said, again, that the lie is having it's day. Those who keep the faith will survive the lies, but that is not to say that Constitutional America will survive the now legalized election and judiciary lies now being made permanent. Truth always survives everything; not so with nations.
In the recent What Is Evil? Linda Kimball concluded that the ultimate evil strategic lure of Marxism is the false promise of eliminating envy, which Marxism actually fulfills by making everyone equal in poverty. As we have said elsewhere herein, Marxism (which is to say, the Unicrat Party) seeks to make America into a two-class society, once the bourgeois middle class has been destroyed.
- The ruling class will be comprised of the government and all the millions and millions of government employees, who will "administer" the ruled class.
- The ruled class will be the whole non government employed population. As for where they will be and what they will be doing, see the Pillars Of Communism.
The ruled class will be better off than the ruled class; but, on the bright side, the ruled class will all be equal in poverty, misery and suppression.
The reason that the Swamp hates Trump is that the Swamp hates America. Everything the Unicrat Party stands for is a false.
Abortion rights. Sodomic supremacy. Not only transgender existence, but transgender supremacy. Black supremacy. Feminist supremacy. Minority supremacy. Property redistribution. Reparations. The evil of nations, and of borders, and of sovereignty, and of the rule of law.
All while they shout "It's Scientific!" to quell the opposition.
They are strictly of the world; they are of Satan, the father of lies.
What is evil? In mathematical terms, evil = falsehood.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Hello Vic. Enjoy your commentary immensely and often share it among others. I’m also a fellow Vietnam vet. Your profoundness and profundity of ideas and effort is most admirable. That being said I have a quibble with a small thing in today’s article: Maryland was founded as a harbor for Catholics. During the English civil war the roundheads conquered Maryland after being kicked out of Cavalier Virginia. The first archdiocese in the United States was the archdiocese of Baltimore and the first Catholic priests ordained in this country were ordained in Maryland. Thanks.

Quite correct. It was founded, in 1632, as a safe haven for English Catholics fleeing anti-Catholic persecution, by Lord Baltimore, or Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, who also governed Newfoundland and Avalon.
All of the original American colonies were established as safe havens from Protestant religious persecution in Europe.
In 1649 Maryland passed the Maryland Toleration Act, the first law in the New World designed to encourage religious tolerance.
