We have noted elsewhere how it seems that the younger the priests and the more recently ordained, the more true to doctrine and the more honest and open in presentation they seem to be. And the more attentive they seem to be to the finer details of proper Liturgy. Whether this is youthful rebellion against the largely disgraceful conditions permeating the Church in America today, or the result of some really good teachers in seminaries is indeterminate. But it is a welcome blessing, and overdue. I pray that it may be a bottom-up peaceful revolution within the Church.
At Mass yesterday, the young priest laid an honest and open description of Islam on the line for all to see. Here I shall try to summarize his major points.
Islam means Submission. The relationship of Allah to man is that of Master to Slave. Disciples are slaves of Allah, in total submission to him. If you go into an Islamic land and say that you are a child of God, or refer to God as your Father, you might be killed for uttering a blasphemy. No one - no mere human - can be that closely related to Allah the Master. To us, God is Love; to Moslems, God is not Love, but All Powerful, demanding total submission.
Good, evil and free will. We cooperate, or not, with the redemptive grace we are given, of our own free will. Liberty - the ability to choose between options - is part of our human nature, in the natural law, which is written on our hearts. Once redeemed, our salvation is ours to keep or lose, depending on our own free will choices in this life. God allows us to make those choices.
Islam denies this free will, and demands blind submission. Good and evil do not exist in the same context in which we view them. There is only submission, or failure to submit. That's it.
Evangelization versus World Conquest. In our world-view, God made man to love Him; man cannot truly love God unless he has free will, i.e., the ability to choose not to love Him. Absent that free will ability, what is given is not true love, but mere programmed robotics. Not true love. Not a decision. Our evangelists preach the Gospel message, and hearers are free to take it or leave it.
Islam does not evangelize, as such; it conquers. It brings into submission. Islam demands of its disciples that it bring the whole world into submission to Allah by force, using Jihad, or Holy War. Eventually, there is to be no religion other than Islam in all the world.
The pagan world will be given two choices: convert to Islam, or die. Christians and Jews get a third option: they can keep their current religion, but, they must submit totally to Islamic Law and government, and they must pay a special penalty tax, in order to continue staying alive and unconverted to Islam. And, they must live as "second class" citizens, unprotected by law. If anyone injures or kills them, they have no legal recourse or opportunity for redress.
That's it, in a nutshell. It was refreshing to hear it from a Catholic pulpit, for the first time. None of our politicians say it as well, none of our episcopate, that I'm aware of, say it as well, and none of our journalists or commentators say it as well. In fact, most all of them say something nearly the opposite, seemingly covering up the true murderous nature of Islam. But it's been that way from the beginning. The true unvarnished nature of Islam came right out of the mouth of Mohammed himself.
Thomas Jefferson warned us about the menace of Islam to civilization way back at the birth of the nation. Our first war, after Independence, was against Islam. Jefferson even published an English translation of the Koran so that Western Civilization could read it an be forewarned of the evil of Islam. And yet, here we are, mesmerized into believing the lie that Islam is a religion of peace.
This, the real truth about Islam, of course, flies in the face of our official American government policy. Comrade President Obama, peace be upon him, declared our official national policy toward Islam before the United Nations, when he declared "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." This is our official American government policy, which automatically blesses the Islamic Jihadists who committed the murders at Charlie Hebdo in Paris.
The victims - or blasphemers, depending on your point of view - now have no earthly future, for they are dead. And good riddance, in accordance with the only declared Obama regime policy toward Islam. If anyone has heard any other official policy from this regime, let's hear it. This is the only one that seems definite; everything else is vague, indeterminate and subject to broad interpretation.
It goes along with the earlier official Obama proclamation, in Turkey, in which he announced to all the world that the United States was no longer a Christian nation.
With this blatantly lying and propagandizing regime, all crimes and all such acts of terrorism, conquest and butchery coming out of Islam are fiercely, but falsely, disassociated from the Koran and from true Islam. If the Obamunists, the Marxocrats (and, probably, the Republicrats) and their agent provocateurs in the Mainstream News Media could somehow tie all these barbarities to the Tea Party, they would do it. In a heartbeat.
It is quite clear: they favor Islam, they favor Marxism, they oppose natural freedom, and they oppose the American Constitution as written.
But here, finally, we have heard the real truth about Islam, from the pulpit, no less, and we know that it cannot be hidden forever. Truth has a life all His own.
There are two major areas in which the Catholic Episcopate in America is, predominantly, falling down on the job and failing the Catholic Flock:
Mustn't be judgmental; heavens no. Not even in the Confessional. Never at the Communion Rail. Never speak the brutal truth when it might make someone angry, or hurt anyone's feelings. Why, after all, who are they to judge?
Lift up our newest generations of Priests in prayer; they're going to need it. Their battle has just begun. Support them in every way you can.
Pray for the Church.

I thought that to be fair I would include the Obama quote you cited above in more of its context. The quote is part of a speech, but the meaning of the sentence "The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam" in its context remains a bit unclear to me. Perhaps this is purposeful. The rhetorical style that surrounds to make the paragraph is difficult to penetrate. I read it multiple times and am still not certain. Perhaps it is deliberate. What is fairly clear is that Obama seems to glibly lump various types sin into a sort of venial stew. But the problem I had was assigning specific responsibility to those who are allegedly doing the sinning. Obama slips seamlessly from "those who" to "we see" to "let us condemn". Yet it seems to me that the same group that he claims is condemning the "slander of the prophet" is the same group that is burning the churches, desecrating the image of Christ, and denying the Holocaust. It also seems to be the same group that he then chides for fighting among themselves. Am I reading this wrong? Here is the paragraph. Please let me know your thinking on this.
"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam. Yet to be credible, those who condemn that slander must also condemn the hate we see when the image of Jesus Christ is desecrated, churches are destroyed, or the Holocaust is denied. Let us condemn incitement against Sufi Muslims, and Shiite pilgrims. It is time to heed the words of Gandhi: “Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit.” Together, we must work towards a world where we are strengthened by our differences, and not defined by them. That is what America embodies, and that is the vision we will support."

In the current forms of both Marxism and Islam, obfuscation, deep deception and treachery are the main weapons of use against a powerful nation. Both Marxism and Islam raise up ends-justify-the-means liars to be revolutionary agents for the cause. If a land cannot be conquered from the outside it must be first be weakened from the inside, with the aid of all those millions duped by the lies of the agents of treachery.
Comrade Obama, peace be upon him, has revealed his true colors a number of times. His deep, profound bow to King Saud was a big one. King Saud was the keeper and protector of both Mecca and Medina, and that made of him the current central figure for all of Islam. All pilgrimages go through him. Obama's deep bow to King Saud was a clearly visible sign to all the world of Islam that Obama was submissive to Islam.
But that ain't all. See the Obama the Moslem page. When was the last time you heard him say anything positive about Christianity or Judaism?
That's funny, neither have I.
Gandhi was wrong about the possibility of indefinitely living in peace with Islam, in the interest of tolerance. Such tolerance is against the religion of Islam. Islam is not and can never be tolerant of any religion or any government other than Islam. Islam cannot be changed.
And Comrade Obama, peace be upon him, knows that.
PS: Re your question on contextual vagaries in Obama's pronouncement to the UN:
Only the first sentence in that whole paragraph contains one complete thought that is direct, pointed, very concise and not in any way vague. That's why I identify it as a clear "policy" statement. All the rest of that paragraph, which appears to be offering weak counter-points to that first clear sentence, is so vague, weak, and subject to such broad interpretation as to be very nearly meaningless.

It is true that one's actions speak louder than words, that by one's fruits you will know him. This should be obvious to voters in this country, yet we seem to be more focused upon a politician's words while we downplay and even ignore his deeds.
Perhaps this is because our culture now uses words mainly to obfuscate truth, and not to reveal it. Two ready examples are "tolerance" which has been arbitrarily narrowed to mean "intolerance of all but that which those in power deem acceptable" and "marriage" that has been arbitrarily broadened to mean "the relationship that exists between a husband and a wife, and a similar relationship between members of the same sex." The concern here is that no one knows when the narrowing or broadening will stop or what new definitions are on the horizon.
I don't know if we have become the society of 1984 or of Brave new World or a mix of both, but we are living in strange days.

I have said multiple times, multiple ways, in multiple places in this site, that if you ever let Satan on the cultural bus, he will eventually wind up driving the cultural bus.
If you ever fail to anathematize and shun obstinate unrepentant sinners, obstinate unrepentant sinners will eventually wind up anathematizing and shunning you.
Examples abound. You bring up a good one.
Today, it's not enough that a homosexual merely be a homosexual; homosexuals insist that you know that they are homosexuals. And it's not enough that you know they are homosexuals; you must not in any way oppose their homosexuality or speak one word against it. And it's not enough that you not speak one word against homosexuality, but you must publicly bless it and approve of it and tolerate it.
If you do not do these things, you will be condemned as homophobic - suffering from a mental illness - and as an intolerant bigot. Anathematized and sunned by your own culture.
So who's driving the cultural bus now?
