See how quickly they can turn.
Rancher Cliven Bundy got everyone's attention in a one-man stand-off against the extra-Constitutional BLM, which should not even exist in the first place. The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) is just another administrative Soviet (i.e., Bureaucracy) established by government to "administer" us into ever increasingly narrow areas of human behavior, ostensibly for our own good. Or maybe for the good of the planet.
Or maybe, more likely, for the increase of government power over the people. To get the citizenry more used to being herded and told what to do. To keep them calm as they are herded along.
Across multiple centuries Bundy's family has free-ranged cattle in that area, as the nation grew up. Laws charging fees for free-range usage during the territorial era were superseded by Statehood, and with Statehood, sovereignty of the land changed.
I'm not going to get into the weeds of what laws are valid, invalid or superseded by history, because I don't really understand it nearly as well as Cliven Bundy does, and he is not exactly the most articulate or well spoken man. I am willing to leave it to him and his neighbors. Others will have to figure the standing legalities out.
The instant Racial Prejudice entered the picture, everybody, to a man, turned on Cliven Bundy. Suddenly, nothing else mattered. Among Liberal whites, and even among cowed and brow-beaten, guilt-ridden Conservative whites, the one and only unforgivable sin is racial prejudice. In a heartbeat, they all turned on him. Instantly. Without looking into it any further. This quite sudden and seemingly universal turn is what inspired these words.
On Prejudice. I submit that prejudicial preferences are so common among all peoples as to be considered natural. That goes for religious preferences, ideological preferences, philosophical preferences, racial preferences, sexual preferences, national preferences, city-versus-country preferences, literary preferences, and the list goes on and on.
If you prefer the company of like-appearing people, or like-minded people, or classic-music loving people, etc., there nothing particularly bad about that. It is a natural thing. It is your nature.
There is a point at which racial preference crosses a line and becomes racism. Racism is here defined as animosity toward another race, or a sense of racial superiority over another race. As such, racism is nonsensical, since it cannot empirically be shown that any whole race is superior to any other.
What the Marxocrat Party sponsored Political Correctness Movement has done with that is blur the line between prejudicial preference - i.e., simple prejudice - and racism. Today, to call someone prejudiced is equivalent to calling them racist. Prejudice itself is made illegal in many jurisdictions. Many have been successfully sued for displaying simple prejudicial preference, as if they had actually done something involving racial animus, or causing injury of some sort.
It's all part of getting us all used to being herded.
As in nearly all other forms of prejudicial personal preference, racial prejudice is particularly demonized among Caucasians, and even more particularly among American Caucasians. This is one of the greatest success stories of the whole Political Correctness Movement. Remember, all of this is sponsored by the Marxocrat Party. You cannot fully demonize "the American system" and virtually all of American history without demonizing the American white man.
Perfection is not of this world, but the next. You've probably heard that about a million times. However, today, the same Journalists, Pundits and Commentators who are telling the Cliven Bundy story on the air, on the internet and in print, would have us (and themselves) believe that they have personally achieved perfection, in that there is not one shred of prejudice in them. Unlike so many of all those lesser white Americans, they are, or they would have us believe they are, absolutely color-blind.
Note well that, in their view, exhibiting racial prejudice is a lesser sin for any non-white race, as it is for any non-American white. (The real Marxocrat goal here is to demonize America herself, as the greatest historical success story of unfettered free market capitalism.) However, for any white American, displaying any kind of preference for your own race, in any way, is today a mortal sin in the new national religion of Political Correctness. It is unforgivable, unpardonable and intolerable, everywhere you look.
But only for white Americans, who are now supposed to be perfect. As the Journalists, Pundits and Commentators all view themselves.
You have probably heard, a million times, phrases like "We have (or we are supposed to have) risen above racial prejudice today", or, "We used to be a racist people, but no more", or, "Once racism was prevalent here, but we have pushed it into the extremist corners of society", and others like them.
Well, if you say things like that, please leave me out of your "we".
America was never a totally racist nation, and American whites were not and are not any more racist than any other race in any other land in any other era.
The first Dutch slave ship to land in the Colonies sparked the abolition movement in the hearts of white American men. Shocked and disgusted Colonists acted to pass laws against any forced or involuntary servitude right up front, only to have them overturned by the Crown. We have talked about this in more detail all over this site. The legality of forced slavery imposed upon the Colonies by England began an economic war, between the slavers and the ordinary employers, with the slavers taking grand advantage of not having to pay for labor.
This economic war gave rise to the Plantation, and to a new rich class of Americans called the Planters, many of whom became super rich. Remember, America was founded, and later Constituted, as the first "classless" nation, where all men stood equal before the law. Now, we had two entirely new classes of men: Planters and Slaves. It all culminated in the Civil War, which was waged by white men against their own white brothers to free black men from bondage. No other people ever did such a thing, ever in history.
The American Civil War was clearly the act of an anti-racist nation.
Before it became the Marxocrat Party, the Democrat Party was the Party of the Planters, the Slavers, the Klan, the Segregationists and the opposition to black and other minority civil rights. Now, as the Marxocrat Party, it has morphed into the white sugar-daddy Santa Clause Party for black America, falsely and successfully demonizing Lincoln's and Martin Luther King Jr.'s Republican Party as being racist, among other evils.
Cliven Bundy's remarks on "the negro" and how they were instantly interpreted revealed a severe language barrier between Cliven Bundy and the Journalists, Pundits and Commentators who all gasped in horror at the very first words. As far as the language he speaks, to them, he might as well be from Mars. They can't come close to understanding him on this topic, particularly after their many years of super-saturation in false American history, white guilt and anti-prejudice indoctrination. Why?
Cliven Bundy lives close to the earth. Today, you might not be able to get closer to the earth than he lives. Ranchers and Farmers of almost all kinds differ from other kinds of workers or businessmen in that they are the originators of food. Every other kind of work is removed from originating food. The more removed someone is from it - from the land, from the livestock, from the constant attention required - the less someone will fully understand it. It's a way of living and a way of communicating that are understood by other ranchers and farmers, almost exclusively. Whether they all agree with Bundy's remarks or not, at least they properly understand them.
The Journalists, Pundits and Commentators who are horrified by Bundy's words live so far from the earth that many of them may seldom if ever see it. They travel in elite circles of sophisticates and sophists in the rarefied atmosphere of high society. They are paid megabucks to look nice and speak well on camera while reading the "news" from a teleprompter, and do it all with the highest levels of political correctness. It's a whole other language, to people like Cliven Bundy. They will likely never fully understand each other.
Let's look at what Bundy said.
Of course, "the negro" got instant, automatic painting of Bundy as a racist. Why, who else but a racist would imply that it is possible to make any blanket statement whatsoever about a whole race?
Well, how about an anthropologist? Would you agree that a blanket statement regarding skin pigmentation could be made about the negro race, with empirical evidence to back it up? Are we all now supposed to pretend that races don't exist, and never refer to a race by name again?
But it could be argued that Bundy was talking about the Negros he saw while driving past some inner city housing project. Not quite a whole race, but possibly or even probably representative of most of the nation's inner-city black neighborhoods, and the ninety-something percent of the guaranteed black Marxocrat vote. Never mind; he had said "the negro" and that is unforgivable by today's politically correct standards, and no Journalist , Pundit or Commentator, whether they call themselves Liberal or Conservative, will ever let something like that go by. Why, they were all appalled. Right on queue.
(Hint: they've been taught to be appalled. Git along, little doggies.)
Were cotton-picking slaves better off? When Bundy wondered aloud if some of these people were better off picking cotton as slaves than the way they are now, the elitist Journalists, Pundits and Commentators went into apoplectic shock. Why, the horror of it. In their view, Bundy was so ignorant that he had no idea how horrible conditions were for slaves on the cotton plantations, universally. He thought they were happier as slaves than now as totally dependent social leaches. But more than the language barrier came into play here, because he never said happier; what he said was better off. The elites don't know the difference; to them, you are only better off when you are happier.
What did it mean when he said "they never learned how to pick cotton" ?
The slaves lived close to the earth, like Cliven Bundy and many of the farmers and the ranchers of today. They knew how to make the earth produce, and they knew how to work. Among other things, they produced food. The slaves didn't just pick cotton; they planted it, irrigated it, fertilized it and watched over it. They prepared and maintained the ground, and did everything necessary to bring forth a good crop.
The slavers learned early on that they didn't even have to feed their slaves, because their slaves were perfectly capable of feeding themselves. Given their own plots of land, some chickens, goats, pigs and milk cows, they took care of feeding themselves. "Share Cropping" by slaves and by free men of color began long before slavery ended. Even where that wasn't done, a share of the produce of the land went to feed the slaves, and the slaves were the ones who produced the produce in the first place. They knew how to do it. And there are American black farmers out there today who produce cotton, among other crops.
Could they have been happier? Remember, Bundy said "better off", and it was the Journalists, Pundits and Commentators who said "happier". They have been indoctrinated into a one-size-fits-all image of the horrors of living life as a slave. But I would venture to guess that Blessed Pierre Toussaint lived a happy life as a slave, and it might be a good guess that George Washington's slave and dear friend Will Lee was a happy man.
How happy are the inner city ghetto blacks? Is it an ignorance-is-bliss happiness, or a genuine happiness?
As far as "better off" goes - beginning with the Lyndon Johnson administration, American blacks have been converted from human capital producing wealth, into dependent mouths-to-feed consuming wealth, even as the previously strong black family disintegrated into virtual non-existence. By plan.
And there were strong black families in the slavery days, some with stronger family bonds than white families. Even the earliest slaves, brought over on ships, often came with stronger taboos than Christianity against such things as incest and other sexual crimes. If a slave abused his or another child, his owner might have had to sell him far away, before his fellow slaves killed him for it.
After the Civil War and Emancipation, there were many heart-rending epic tales of ex-slaves wandering the land searching for spouses, children, parents and other relatives, sometimes successfully, sometimes not, for a lifetime. To be sold apart from family was, for many slaves, worse than being flogged to death. Family was everything. It was all they had.
What is it today?
What happens when the system crashes? What do the inner city blacks do when the city runs out of money, lays everyone off, cuts the water off, the dollar is worthless, fuel is so expensive trucks cannot deliver, homes cannot be heated, there is no electricity and Kroger is out of food? Do any of them still know how to butcher a hog or slaughter a chicken? Do they even have a hog or a chicken? What happens after the last store is looted and burned down?
Well, they learn what the word famine means.
And what do the Journalists, Pundits and Commentators do when suddenly the pantry is empty and even their megabucks cannot get a loaf of bread delivered, because there is no more delivery possible, and there is no fuel for the Ferrari? Can any of them even imagine how to do a simple thing like slaughter a chicken, assuming they could even find one?
Since total economic collapse is just one obviously predictable end Obamunism and the Marxocrat Party is seeking to achieve, in their "fundamental transformation" of America, it would seem logical and reasonable that people should be preparing for it now. Unless they just can't believe it. Unless they have been so divorced from the good earth that they don't think they need it. Unless they have become so aloof and "sophisticated" that they now look down on the farmers, ranchers, cow boys and hill-billies as simple country bumpkins not worthy of much more than ridicule, mockery and contempt.
The Cliven Bundys - the ranchers and the farmers - have been through this before. They have had bad years, and multiple bad years back-to-back, and survived. If they cannot bring their food to market for whatever reason, they will eat and preserve much of it. Ranchers and farmers are heavily experienced in getting through hard times. It's what's called being better off. They know what to do.
They have wells and springs on their land, they have fire wood, they hunt and fish to supplement their tables, and they bide their time and tend their land and their livestock as best they can. Eventually, things will get better. Even during hard times, things are always a bit calmer for those who are close to the earth and who are the originators of food.
As for the inner city blacks, and as for the Journalists, Pundits and Commentators who are electronically crucifying Cliven Bundy in the news - well, they don't even see it coming. They don't even know that they are already being politically herded.
Git along, little doggies.

Is it just a matter of time when they declare that those who are deemed racist, are dangerous, and should therefore, be separated from normal society? I suppose the opposite is possible, that those who govern with a Marxist agenda could one day be deemed dangerous and guilty and be separated from normal society. If the Marxist could impose their will & vision upon others, then others could impose their will & vision upon them, all the same.
Is it true that Adolf Hitler despised Marxism? Is it true, that Adolph Hitler was most conscious of the importance of the food supply and the farmer? Is it true that he placed great importance on the family, especially the children? Is it also true, that "Mein Kampf" is the second most read book in the Middle East after the Koran? Why is that? Why is Vladimir Putin actively strengthening and promoting family, and Christianity? Why is Christianity being systematically dismembered here in America? Is it possible to live amongst your countrymen, while knowing that many of them are your enemy? Where do you go to in this world to find sanity and peace? Is there an island or country that could be better? If Our Lady of Fatima is ignored, could it be in our Godly interest to abandon this demise known as America and go to Russia and help promote what we know is good? Is it possible to say that the satanic stranglehold over America is so tight, we have no choice but to flee? Or do we just stay put, and talk it out some more, and hopefully somebody will do something.

Hitler demonized Communism as one of the enemies of the state to eliminate. Naziism / Fascism differed from Communism only in that they controlled the owners of industry and supplied slave labor for them, while Communism took direct state control of all industry and drafted industrial armies. Both were Marxist at the core.
You raise very serious questions, and the only logical answers point to a world upside down.

Same old U.S. propaganda machine at work. You know, I actually did a reality check as I wrote that sentence. We are almost completely through the Looking Glass. However, I was wondering if you identify the source for the section on how the American colonists passed laws against the slave trade and were overturned by the British Crown. I checked your reference section but was not successful. BTW it seems that we have read many of the same books.

Well, you may have stumped me here.
Going through the old, old material I used as I wrote and rewrote an early treatment of official Catholic teaching on forced slavery, and I have yet to find that particular source. It was all painstakingly put together around 1999 in response to "official" false teaching I received in the Cincinnati Archdioces's Athenaeum of Ohio Lay Pastoral Ministry Program courses. It was a response, or a counter-argument used against multiple Professors in that program.
A summarized version of that treatment of the subject would eventually morph into the Slavery page on this website, around 2005 or so. What I found among my original source material was this:
It may be that the reason the "outlaw" didn't appear in law was that it was overridden and never became law. A quick internet search came up dry.
I remember that I argued the points put forth in the slavery page strenuously against multiple professors, and none of them challenged that point.
Sorry, John; that's the best I can do on short notice. I'll keep looking.
