While I am no lettered theologian or cleric of any kind, I can read, I can do critical thinking and I can reach logical conclusions as I have been designed and created to do, just like you. I try to do it properly.
The iVoteCatholic Initiative, on first impression, set off all kinds of soft little alarms in this reading/thinking/conclusion process, because parts of it smack of the kind of soft-peddling of Modernism dressed up as Catholicism that I have increasingly encountered elsewhere emanating from inside the Church. And we can see what it has produced all around us in America and in the larger world today.
The iVoteCatholic program is aligned with the "Forming Consciences For Faithful Citizenship" document of the USCCB. That should tell you something, since we all now know that the USCCB, as a body, is a lot more Left-leaning political than it is Catholic. (See The USCCB Pages.) And Modern, in the heretical sense of that word.
The most visible American examples of the "Modern Catholic" today would be Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Traitor John Kerry. All of them profess to be Catholics in good standing; all of them politically champion, sponsor and defend unconstitutional-yet-legal "rights" to commit abortion, sodomy, sodomic marriage and the revolutionary drive to "Transform" America from a Constitutional Republic into a Democratic Socialist Republic, i.e., a typical Communist one-party ruled dictatorship.
And we have the USCCB, and we have a multitude of "Catholic" clerics, including the highest ranking Bishops and Cardinals in America, who support the Marxocrat Party agenda and who will vote for Biden in the upcoming election.
Is anyone surprised?
The iVoteCatholic announcement publicizes itself to be a shorthand or cliff-notes cultural guide, pulled out of Paul VI's Gaudium et Spes, the Statement on Capital Punishment, Called to Compassion and Responsibility and other foundational documents of modern Catholicism.
But these "modern" Catholicism cliff-notes all seem to point Catholicism in the direction of promoting one universal community of man, which I see as an increasing embracing of the world at the expense of the spirit. Modern Catholicism unites, but, Truth Divides. And we are again reminded of the Unreferenced Communism in Vatican II, and our red concern lights begin to blink.
Because Christ divides, Christianity is divisive. Yet modern Catholicism seeks to "perfect" mankind over time and eventually unify world culture into one perfect culture, which seems to me to be no different than the original false promise of Communism. Socialism, i.e., Marx's "dictatorship of the proletariat", is the supposed Marxist stepping-stone on the path to the perfection of man, so that the Utopian state would just go poof and pop into being, and all world culture would be in one big happy ungoverned, government-less state of statelessness.
But Communism is a lie. The real goal of Communism is dictatorship.
The "new" Catholicism holds "brothers" and "neighbors" in Scripture to be universally and globally inclusive, rather than referring to members of the contextual group. The Christian call goes out to all men, true enough, and Christ died to redeem all men everywhere. But all will not come to Christ and all will not accept the redemption. Evil exists in the world, and rules the world, and Satan will have his due. The cannibal, the head-hunter, the Communist, the Socialist, the Fascist, the Nazi, the Moslem, the Satanist, the Marxocrat, etc., is not your "brother" and not your "neighbor" in the Scriptural sense of those words.
Your closest neighbor or brother is your family member; then, your Church member; then, your nation member. The farthest anyone could be from being your neighbor or your brother is the one who seeks to dominate, sublimate or destroy your faith, your religion, your family, your nation or even your life.
Man cannot perfect man. Only God can do that. He did it once, and that's it. We will accept the redemptive act and embrace the faith, or we will not. It is our individual - not collective - our individual choice. And it must be an individual free will choice, and involve an individual commitment and dedication.
Then, the faithful individual joins the brotherhood of Christianity, and becomes the one the Scriptural words "brother" and "neighbor" most frequently referred to.
The iVoteCatholic initiative outlines seven "themes" to be examined over the seven Sundays preceding 2020 election day, as follows:
Being rolled out to all Parishes in the Archdiocese, one of these seven subjects is to be concentrated on by the whole Parish each Sunday and that whole week.
The problem is that this is all modern Catholic social teaching, which is steeped in the Marxist sense of "Social Justice", which encompasses the Marxist rather than the Christian (and Constitutional) interpretation of the human right to Equality. In the Marxian (and modern Catholic) interpretation, it is equality of material possessions, necessitating redistributionism, which necessitates the violation of the 7th and 10th Commandments.
And the newer and more Marxian Catholicism prefers the more innocent sounding word "migrant" to refer to criminals who violate immigration laws, and encourages them, and encourages us to not see the crime but rather embrace the criminals, and reward the crime, at the expense of ourselves and of our true brothers and neighbors.
Similarly, the newer and more Marxian Catholicism embraces Scientism, which denies true science, to strengthen its more Marxist "Social Justice" themes regarding the earth, the environment, the population, and general arguments against Capitalism. Thus, at the very least, the new "Catholic" Social Justice builds the numbers of American voters who call themselves "Fiscally Conseravtive but Socially Liberal".
Note this well: Every single "Socially Liberal" issue in American politics today is unconstitutional on its face. None of them are even listed among the limited and enumerated powers of the federal government to address in law. They are all state issues, out-of-scope for the federal government to even address, in the legislation, execution or adjudication of federal law.
Of course, that doesn't matter to those politicians and justices who are Marxist. Nor does it matter to those Catholic Bishops who are Marxist.
The problem of the "overpopulated" and the "undeveloped" and the "impoverished" and the "migrating" lands is not the population and not the climate change or anything other than the form of government. It's the government, not the environment, and certainly not the population. In Capitalism, population is a blessing, because people make wealth. In Socialism, population is a curse, because people consume wealth. Very simple; nothing to it. The more people a free nation has the wealthier they will be and the wealthier their nation will be.The more corrupt and/or Marxist the government is the more the people will suffer.
Whosoever denies this fact is a science denier.
So, we're just not too impressed with the iVoteCatholic initiative.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
