Here, the authors of the American Declaration of Independence established four, unalienable, God-given, Natural Law human rights, as a purpose-for-being, and the very foundation stone, of a new form of government.
What did the authors mean by "equal"?
What they meant was the Christian understanding of equality, relying on Scripture:
That meant, of course, that slavery had to end. Benjamin Franklin had already instituted the Abolition movement, to which Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and others among the Founders subscribed, but the writing and arguing and negotiating of the Declaration brought the issue to a head.
To keep the Abolition Colonies in unity with the slave Colonies, with unity desperately needed against the common enemy, English Rule, and to temporarily mollify both arguments, the unalienable, Natural Law right to "Property" had to be reworded to be "pursuit of Happiness" in the Declaration.
The argument was between the unalienable right to "equality" and the unalienable right to "property", when, by English law and local custom, slaves were property. Slavery and slave trade were by then so solidly established as to have become a near absolute economic necessity for vast segments of American culture, mostly in the South. Abolition could mean economic catastrophe for many members of the newly established pre-Revolutionary first Continental Congress. If they walked out, the Revolution was doomed.
This terrible situation was imposed upon the Colonies, by England. Many Northern Colonies had already legislated laws abolishing slavery, only to have them overturned by the Crown. England wanted to keep her slave trade to the Colonies going, and she did.
So, what does "Equality" mean, as a foundation stone for the American Government?
This American concept stands opposed to the Marxist interpretation of equality, which is, in a nutshell:
The Russian or Marxist view of equality always includes equal pay, equal shelter, equal food, equal medicine, equal jobs, equal savings, etc., etc., etc. Which means, men are not free to "get ahead" or to improve their own condition in any way. That would be unequal.
Marxist equality is, of course, quite impossible on any large scale.
Marxism is an ideology of Revolution with global ambitions. Marxism seeks to overturn all existing human institutions, whether by infiltration and inciting of "popular" revolution, a la Machiavelli, or, by slowly but steadily inciting a crisis-by-crisis "progression" toward economic and societal collapse, a la Hegel.
My personal opinion is that Marx developed his "philosophy" and even wrote his Manifesto in reaction to and in opposition to America; the first and only nation of laws, and not of men, in which the supreme law - the Constitution - is the only sovereign, and all men stand equal in its sight. Including even Presidents.
The American concept also stands opposed to the Islamic interpretation of equality, which is, in a nutshell:
The closest thing to equality in Islam may be found among Islamic men who are devout Moslems; but even they are subject to Imams and various war-lords and Caliphs that arise from time to time.
Women are inferior to men in rights and in all respects. Islam is a religion or ideology that seeks conquest, with global ambitions; trades in slaves; commits acts of piracy against all non-Islamic peoples; exacts tribute and ransom from non-Islamic peoples, and in general acts as an exact opposite force to the American principle of equality.
American equality is the only equality that is real; if it is imperfect, it is the most perfect example that may be found to exist.
It's very simple, really. Nothing to it. It's equal justice.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.
Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life; please God, and live forever.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
The Purpose of this grouping of articles is to highlight the absolutely unique political organization and therefore unique politics of the United States of America.
Christian American Politics Pages
American Politics differ from the politics of all other nations because the USA is designed to have no sovereign ruler, and no sovereign government, in the most accepted meaning of the word "Sovereign". The American Constitution itself is the only Sovereign. It provides the supreme law of the land, and the full operating instructions for the government. The representative and temporary government acts in unison with the People to make the Constitution work.
The Darkness and Depression that always accompany rejection of God. "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."-John 15:11. Departing from Jesus always brings on darkness and depression.
On the Inspired, Brilliant Republic of the Unique and Incomparable USA. The inspired, ingenuous and seemingly miraculously conceived concept and design of the word's first anti-tyrannical-government government.
God, Nature and the USA. The unique relationship between God, the Author of Nature, and the "Natural" political organization of the USA, as Declared and as Constituted.
Anti-God, Anti-Nature and Anti-USA. Breaking America's relationship with God and perverting man's view of Nature, first, in the Anti-USA Agenda of the Left.
Restoring USA: The simple (but difficult) task before our new President. Generations of unresisted Leftist damage and culture-rot cloud the simple task of restoring the original idea of the USA.
Ecumenical America: Christian Ecumenism's Last Best Hope. The Reformation split us apart; the Sons of Liberty and the Continental Congress sought to bring us back together.
Equality: The American versus the Marxist and Islamic Interpretations. The Equality of our Declaration is not the same as Socialist Equality, and it stands opposed to Islamic Domination.
Life: The American versus the Marxist and Islamic Interpretations. The "Life" in our Declaration is opposed to the pure utilitarianism of Socialism and the murderous domination of Islam.
Liberty: The American versus the Marxist and Islamic Interpretations. The "Liberty" in our Declaration is opposed to the pure social-sameness of Socialism and the absolute domination of Islam.
Pursuit Of Happiness: As in America, versus under Marxism or under Islam. The "Pursuit Of Happiness" in our Declaration as compared to the "Happiness" of the Socialist Collective, and the "Happy Sadistic Domination" of Islam.
Returning to American Ecumenism: the First Step in National Salvation. American Ecumenism, among the citizenry, may be the last "Big" hope the world has for Christian Ecumenism.
Reform Islam? How, exactly? Can you rewrite the Koran? Seeking out "Moderate Moslems" who will "Reform Islam" is a fool's errand. Islam is irreformable.
Reform Marxism? No way. No part of Marxism is useful to America. Trying to Reform Marxism is a fool's errand. Marxist ideology of Revolution assumes a priori that whatever institution exists needs to be destroyed.
Creating Pre-Revolutionary Chaos: Disorder masked as a "New Order". Revolutionaries must upset the existing order, while convincing the victim population that all the chaos they see is not of their doing.
On the hidden Marxist Injustice in "Social Justice" and "Democracy". And the Injustice in the sneaky, underhanded psychological blending of Communism with Christianity.
Failure to Anathematize anyone always leads to being Anathematized ourselves. We ought to just say "Let us be Anathema" the minute we stop shutting out mortal enemies of the Church and mortal enemies of the Nation.
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
Truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.—Winston Churchill
The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.—Ayn Rand
