The problem with our war on ISIS is the same as our war on Al Queda, which is the same as our war on Taliban. Once the ISIS Caliphate was destroyed, it stopped being a territorial war, and went back to being an ideological war.
You can't win an ideological war territorially.
There's nothing tough about this. Ideologies cross territorial lines. All the "experts" criticizing President Trump for getting us out of Afghanistan are still thinking territorially when the enemy is an ideology. You cannot militarily just rub out an ideology like you can a country.
The military "elephant in the room" that nobody wants to look at is the fact that the ideology that is out to destroy us is not the ideology of ISIS, or of Al Queda, or of Taliban.
It is Islam itself.
What no one wants to recognize or publicize or say out loud is that ISIS, like Al Queda, like Taliban, and like so many other Jihadist groups, are the ones who are most correctly interpreting and practicing Islam. They are not "radical" and they are not "usurpers" and they are not "hijackers" of Islam; they are the most proper practitioners of it in the world today. Other than the sneaky Civil Jihadists who are all over the place.
Allah is a false god, Mohammed was a false prophet, and Islam, like Marxism, is nothing more than an evil, purely political strategy, aimed at global conquest and which outlived its own author. It's "Useful Idiots" who carry out that strategy today are religious zealots and fanatics. Believers in falsehood. Pretty much like Marxism's silly Utopian Idealists. They are raised in it; they are educated in it; they believe it.
Mohammed very specifically called for the application of terrorism, torture and murder to be applied in the advancement of Islam, right there in the Koran. The "Secular" governments of Islamic lands are violating Islam by being secular governments. They are the only ones we may align with and deal with peaceably, but they, not the active Jihadist groups, are the real "radicals" within the "religion" of Islam.
Islam insists upon one god, one religion, one jurisprudence and one government, all contained in Islam. It is popularly called Sharia, but it is actually Islam.
Western and American "experts" insist that Islamic governments keep "Sharia" under control, which is to insist that Islamic governments violate Islamic law. An eventually untenable situation, if the nation being governed remains predominantly Islamic.
Most people likely do not realize the difficult position the current ruler of Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is in, in trying to "weed" the fiercer strains of Wahhabism out of the government. He is walking a tightrope, as Western "experts" condemn him for not being perfectly Western in an Eastern world that is totally foreign to Western "experts". They seem to want him to go "poof!" and become an English Gentleman or something. Perfection, in their eyes, or nothing.
They don't see that they are being just as intractable as the Jihadists.
Nor do they see (or want to publicly admit) that Islam and Jihad are inseparable; they are one and the same thing. Jihad comes out of Islam; Islam insists upon Jihad; Jihad is the proper way of practicing Islam.
Once again, this time in Afghanistan, Trump is right, and the "experts" are wrong.
The only way to end the global threat of Islam is to get Moslems to both disbelieve and disavow Islam, under threat of death from within Islam for disbelieving and disavowing Islam. The best way to reduce global threat of Islam is to convert Moslems to Christianity; the next best way is to convert them to anything else, including even atheism.
There are plenty of disbelieving Moslems already in the world, just as there are plenty of disbelieving Catholics. But they go along to get along; it is their culture, and it runs life in the Islamic Ummah. For the most part, they cooperate with it, which means that they cooperate with Jihad against unbelievers too. While hiding their own disbelief.
It must be asked, if they disbelieve Islam, why are they still Islamic?
Especially here in America, where all are guaranteed freedom of religion, and where all murder, including religious murder, is against the law. That fact alone, among many others, makes Constitutional America the implacable mortal enemy of Islam, and Islam the implacable mortal enemy of Constitutional America.
Islam and freedom of religion are diametrically opposed to each other.
As are Islam and freedom of speech, Islam and freedom of the press, Islam and freedom of association, Islam and the right to Equality, Islam and the right to Life, Islam and the right to Liberty, and Islam and the right to Property.
The reason President Trump was able to pull together an alliance of such Islamic nations as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, with Israel, against Iran, was that the governments of such nations as Saudi Arabia and Egypt were Secular governments, and not strictly Islamic. That is to say that these governments, to whatever degree that they did not enforce Islamic law, were operating in direct violation of Islamic law.
The only governments of Islamic lands that the West may ever deal with in peace and align with in war are lands that are not strictly governed by Islamic law.
And it isn't solely the Sunni-Shia split that sets Iran at odds with Arabia; there is also the matter of personalities among the rulers. None of them want to be unseated; all of them seek more and more power; that sets them against each other.
In pre and actual World War II, it wasn't the ideological or political differences between the Bolshevik and the Nazi-Facist strains of Marxism that caused them to go to war with each other. It was the determination of both Hitler and Stalin eventually rule the world. They got along fine with each other, until Hitler broke his secretly sworn non-aggression pact with Stalin and invaded Russia.
It's the same in Islam. Sunni and Shia read the same Koran; both practice Jihad. But no ruler wants to be unseated by any other ruler, and that's what made ISIS the enemy of all sitting Islamic rulers, including wannabe rulers, like the Taliban. Everybody wants to be the ruler, but everybody can't be the ruler.
Most Islamic rulers both fear a Caliphate, and want to be the Caliph, at the same time.
Islam and America are incompatible; no Islamic believer should even be within our borders, let alone in our military ranks, or in any position of authority or law, or in government office. Here is the Constitutional Amendment we recommended in The Case For Banishment:
Very simple; nothing to it.
All that's required is for Congress to write it up, the President to sign it, and send it out to the 50 States for ratification. If the evil Marxocrat Woodrow Wilson was able to pass two such major Constitutional Amendments, both of which were destructive of Constitutional Principles, ratifying each one within a one year time frame, then a Trump-supporting Congress could do the same thing with this one.
We all know how deeply the Marxocrat Party and the Marxocrat Media despise American patriots and patriotism, and how they support everything that is anti-American. It is time they learned that American patriots reciprocate that sentiment, and are not particularly fond of all the other anti-Americans they've purposely brought into America either.
For those anti-Americans who couldn't think of any country they'd rather be deported to, we could give them a boat, compass and map, give them a nice, happy bon voyage celebration with music and flowers, and gently push them out to sea.
Or, leave them here, but devoid of citizenship and all Constitutional rights, as an inducement to eventually self-deport to anywhere.
As far as Afghanistan is concerned, and other Islamic nations with an American military presence, American interests might be better served by secret "black-ops" intelligence-gathering infiltration of Islamic governments and of actual Jihadist groups, like ISIS, Taliban, Al Queda, etc., than by keeping American military boots on the ground.
If another 9/11 type plot is uncovered in any Islamic land, Americans should not be averse to serious strikes against that land. Nor should we be averse to the tactical use of low yield nuclear weapons to take out rulers or even whole governments, and/or to take out nuclear and missile capabilities.
If they can't respect us, they should damned well be made to fear us.
Just as one example, Iran would most likely become a more peaceable nation if her sitting government and her nuclear and missile capabilities were destroyed. It would be up to the Iranian people what kind of government they would form, and what kind of people they would be.
Meanwhile, Americans need to get back to who we were Constituted to be.
To remain that way, we must discriminate against all that would change us from what we were Founded, Declared and Constituted to be.
"Abandon hope, all ye who enter here" is the inscription on the gates of hell in Dante's Divine Comedy.
"Abandon All Anti-American Ideas, all ye who would enter America" should be the inscription at the top of all applications for entry into America and all applications to become American.
The only thing Truth has going for Him in this world is us.
The restoration of Truth = Reality in the hearts and minds of men is now totally dependent upon you and me; if we don't do it, it won't get done.

Never be lukewarm.
Life itself demands passion.
He who is indifferent to God has already forfeited his soul.
He who is indifferent to politics has already forfeited his liberty.
In America, religion is not mere window dressing and citizenship is not a spectator sport.
Do not allow our common destiny as a whole people to just happen without your input.
Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life; please God, and live forever.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and
broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in
thereat. How narrow is the gate, and strait is the way that leadeth to life:
and few there are that find it! Beware of false prophets, who come to you in
the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Jesus Christ; Matt 7:13-15
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
