(Refuting Perverted Catholicism is another right-column gathering of material, this time refuting false and misleading teaching that “officially” violates what the Catechism, the Councils and the Popes teach us. Look to the article links in the right column on this webpage for the nitty-gritty details.)
This site began life as a place to write about Catholic religion and American politics, from a viewpoint that comes from within Catholic American culture. Over time it grew to encompass broader topics covering other religions and other political disciplines. When it started, the main objective was to try to keep Truth at the center, regardless of the directions various discourses, submissions or arguments might lead. We hope that will always remain the case.
So the reason for this particular page, and the collection of the right-column linked articles, stems from the fact that the Catholic Church is and must be recognized as the center of all Truth on earth. If the Catholic Church is shaken, then Truth itself – or how men recognize it – is jeopardized.
As this website developed, it seems to have become our lot to attack untruth more than to defend Truth; maybe because that turned out to be the easier path. Once you know a true doctrine, for instance, via the Catechism, or a Council document, or a formal papal statement on it, and you see something opposing it, it becomes quite easy to go after it and disprove it, frequently in many ways and on multiple grounds.
The line between Church and state keeps getting crossed in this website, because Truth and untruth cross and re-cross that line.Marxism figures prominently among the topics on this site; Marxism has a political aspect and a theological aspect, in that Marxism opposes and seeks to destroy all religion. That means Marxism opposes Catholicism. Marxism also opposes and seeks to destroy Capitalism, free markets, the family and private property. That means Marxism opposes America.
We can say the same thing about Islam, which, as a theocracy, is more than a mere religion. Islam has a political aspect and a theological aspect, in that Islam opposes and seeks to eliminate all religions other than Islam. That means Islam opposes Catholicism. Islam also opposes and seeks to destroy all forms of civil government other than government by Islamic law. That means Islam opposes America.
Now, we have had some rather heated discussions with fellow Catholics and with fellow Americans, on theological grounds and on Constitutional grounds, about our recommendation to Outlaw Marxism and our recommendation to Outlaw Islam in America.
The bottom line in our argument is that Marxism is a violent call to revolution to eliminate the both the civil and ecclesial order of existence, and the elimination of the Judeo-Christian Ethos upon which not only America, but all of Western Civilization is built. And Islam is a violent call to war, to accomplish the exact same thing, also on a global basis.
Here’s what Marxism says it wants to do to us:
The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a communist revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Proletarians of all countries, unite!
– Marx’s Communist Manifesto
Does any of that sound negotiable? And I submit that Islam is even more violently hostile than Marxism. Adherents are instructed to make war against us (meaning all who stand outside of the religion of Islam) until no religion exists except Islam, in Koran verses 2:193, 8:39 and 9:29.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like revolution, and I don’t like war. However, I do not intend to give up my religion, and I do not intend to give up my country or my Constitution.
Nevertheless, Marxism and Islam both advance against us under false banners. Decent society is parasitized by the smoothness of the Marxist lie and the smoothness of the Islamic lie. Marxism is seen as just another political viewpoint, among the many, and no real threat to our religion or our form of government. Islam is a religion of peace, full of decent friendly people, and again no threat to our religion or to our form of government.
But Marxist thought creeps into our thought processes, and it infects and anesthetizes our ability to identify it as an enemy. Hence our own political process has incorporated such things as a graduated income tax, public education, support of national and even international unions, a central bank, and more; ideas that came not from our founding documents, but from the Communist Manifesto. And now we seem to be addicted to them.
And Islam forms larger and larger enclaves of Moslems who will not assimilate into the larger host culture, and who become more fiercely protective of territory and less peaceful to their neighbors as their enclaves grow. They eventually claim sovereign territory of their host nation as their own, they control it, and they seek to expand it. It has happened all over Europe, and there is no reason to believe it is not happening here.
Marxism and Islam, once powerful conquering forces in the world, have morphed into parasitic social infections that nibble away at liberty everywhere, always ready to rise up and resort to violence when they sense they are strong enough and the host nation is weakened enough. Marxism and Islam are both false and fraudulent systems. Even at the highest points of their successes in their histories, they were not what they advertised themselves to be. See the Refuting Marx page and the Refuting Mohammed page to see them for the hoaxes that they are, and were from the beginning.
Defending Truth is what this site is about, and we have learned that the best way to defend is to relentlessly attack the enemy and give him no rest. Ronald Reagan said “If we lose freedom here there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth.” To take it a step farther, the Catholic Church, established by Christ Himself, is the ultimate steward and protector of the Gospel, and thus the center of all Truth to be handed on to man. If that stewardship is compromised, if that teaching is corrupted, then, all is lost, for there is nowhere else on earth for man to turn for ultimate Truth.
Yet today we see the attack on Catholic catechesis in almost every area the Church touches on. Promotion of a feminine priesthood, a non-celibate priesthood, acceptance of contraception, a softened teaching on abortion, corruption of the liturgy, corruption even of the language used in Scripture, corruption of papal and council teachings, corrupted forms of ecumenism and inclusiveness, and everywhere, a softening of the message. From the sacredness and Divinity of the Eucharist, to a lessening of importance of confession, to even the design of holy places, Catholicism seems to be being blended into an unrecognizable denomination among the many, all seen to be somehow equal. It is the slow Democratization of His Church.
We have experienced flagrantly false “Catholic” teaching up close and personal, as you can see in many of the linked articles in the right column of this page. We hope that others who are currently in the same teaching programs might submit their updated input here after they finish their studies, so we can see the current teaching situation in our archdiocese and others.
The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is and must remain the center of all Truth on earth, until He comes again. To that end, we will continue to attack falsehood wherever we see it.
Seek the Truth; find the Way; live the Life. Please God, and live forever.

Make up your mind!
Is this about Catholicism, or is it about politics?!!!
What do Marxism and Islam have to do with Catholicism?
I thought this was going to be about Catholicism. You need to change the title.

It’s about our culture, and culture is a combination of religion and politics.
We do not properly leave our religion behind when we step out into the larger world; we take it with us. I am catholic at home, in Church, at work and out and about in public, and I am Catholic in the voting booth, the jury box, or wherever I am. That never, ever changes.
Right now, the two biggest threats to my religion (and my freedom) are Marxism and Islam, and I therefore attack them, at every opportunity. Marxism and Islam are threats to all religion, and to all freedom. They each have a goal of global conquest that involves the crushing of all other religions and all other forms of authority, government and civil law. And they are both utterly ruthless in how they seek to accomplish that goal.
Catholicism is something to be lived, not something to just claim. Culture is not a spectator sport. You are supposed to engage culture, not just observe it. Culture challenges and engages us all, and that engagement takes place on a two-way street. I also challenge and engage culture. So should you.
If we don’t do it, who will?

I like the passion of your articles and the courteous tone of your comments.
However what you dislike politically is not Marxism (which is committed to revolution), but liberalism, the creed which as economic liberalism puts the individual first (eg Thatcherism: 'There is no such thing as society') and as social liberalism rejects community standards in favour of the social "rights" of minorities (eg gay marriage).
Im the Uk, the latter group are taking an increasingly aggressively secularist stance and are particularly hostile to Catholicism. They increasingly make common cause with the new atheists, such as Dawkins.
At one time, the Labour Party in the UK, like the Democrats in the USA, sought to better the lives of the working poor, the unemployed, the sick and disabled (as in Matt 25) and most Catholics, who were largely immigrants and poor, voted Labour. Now the link is dissolving because the LP is dominated by social liberals who put their at best irrelevant agenda (abortion, gay marriage, secularism) ahead of improving life for the majority (health, schools, taxes on the poor going up as bankers get massive bonuses).
Catholics no longer feel at home or welcome in the Labour Party and those who did not leave over the attack on Iraq, supported by many "social imperialists" who knew what was best for the iraqis (our resolve was strengthened by Pope JP II'S statement that it did not meet the criteria for a just war) are leaving now. But where can we go politically?
Incidentally, it's the same
sort of people with similar priorities who have messed up the Church in the
last 50 years.

There may be nuances and differences between American political alignments and English ones, but what I oppose politically (and religiously) in America definitely stems from the ideology of Marx. Here, Liberalism and Conservatism virtually switched places during the FDR New Deal years, when Liberalism morphed into a softer, gentler form of Marxism. While the outside facade changed significantly, the ultimate goal remained the same.
Here, Liberalism, Progressivism, Moderatism, etc., all, provide just another smooth, more conciliatory, "let's all get along" path to the same old collectivism, social sameness and dependency upon government. The unseen danger is that it works to centralize power, and centralized power is more easily seized by someone ruthless enough to seize it. All of the smiling, friendly Liberals are not necessarily so gentle; among them are Alinskyite revolutionaries in deceptive disguise.
The new deceptive Marxism concentrates on establishing nice-sounding social engineering programs in law, and nice-sounding environmental engineering programs into law, while weakening our moral standing, and weakening even our common sense.
They first teach, and then legislate or regulate, notions such as the goodness and social acceptability of sodomy, and then they make it illegal to speak against it.
The first teach, and then legislate or regulate, the weather and the climate, and then they make it illegal to use a light bulb or start up an internal combustion engine.
They destroy our moral sense of right versus wrong even as they destroy our simple common sense, and every such move involves a migration of political power from the people to the government. Exactly the opposite of what they claim to be doing, which is, empowering the people, and creating a more pure Democracy.
They especially encourage and promote envy, in direct opposition to a Commandment of God, in getting people like you envious and jealous of the Banker (or anyone else) who gets a bonus while someone somewhere is hungry. This, too, is bogus. What they hope to eventually take from the banker will not be used to feed the hungry person.
It's all a lie.

Refuting Perverted Catholicism
Opposing "soft" Catholicism, I'm OK - You're OK Catholicism, Cafeteria-Catholicism of the pick-and-choose variety, and the pure evil that seeks to pervert Catholicism from within, while wearing the mask of piety.
On going back to the Original Bible, after all these Revisions. The Douay-Rheims is the English translation of the original Vulgate, the world's first one-book Bible, put together by St. Jerome around 400 A.D. From now on, this is my Bible of reference.
The Institutional Church, Institutional Nations and Institutional Man. The Institutional Church, like any instituted nation, is a solid, fixed, objective thing. You can point to it and say "there it is". Institutional Man is "Institutional" by Natural Law.
Refuting Perverted Catholicism: defending the Church as the Center of all Truth. Refuting Perverted Catholicism at the Layman Level. If proper Catholic catechesis dies, all is lost.
Is the Novus Ordo Mass already a mostly Protestant Mass? A Protestant Mass? Excuse me? Was that really somebody's plan from the beginning?
Has the USCCB morphed into the Catholicrat Party with it's own agenda? Our Democrat Party is now Maxocrat; our Republican Party is now Republicrat; has our USCCB gone Catholicrat?
On the Anti-Church metastasizing within the Roman Catholic hierarchy. The anti-Church within the Church: the anti-Papal agenda advancing even in the Vatican itself.
Babbling Christianity: The Loss of Unity in the Christian Message. Is some New Testament "Tower of Babble" moment behind babbling Christianity's ever increasing disunity?
Why is our whole culture going to pot? It's our morality, stupid. Every cultural thing - law, order, decency, indecency, salvation, damnation - hangs on a recognized cultural morality.
Can we find actual Evil inside the Catholic Church? Well, why not? The war between Satan's kingdom (the World) and the Kingdom of God, and Evil inside the Catholic Church.
The Modernist Heresy: Western Man's Descent from Philosophy into Modernism. Modernism is the heresy of heresies, because it carries within it all previous heresies, being as it is a direct, frontal assault upon faith and all doctrine and dogma.
Lucifer and the CCHD: The Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
Lucifer and the CCHD: how Lucifer’s disciples infected Catholic thinking, enjoyed Catholic funding and advanced evil in America.
The Catholic Communizer Dorothy Day is up for Sainthood? Excuse me?
The Catholic Communizer Dorothy Day’s life work was Marxist Community Organizing for future revolution.
The anti cafeteria Catholic forum is a thorn in the pew for Catholic wimps.
The anti cafeteria Catholic forum addresses weak-kneed, wimpy, inclusive, "Spirit of Vatican II" heterodox Catholicism. Refute these contentions if you can.
On Straying, Right or Left, from the Catechism.
We have before us, on one side, excesses of "Social Justice" and "Liberation Theology", and on the other, the "Lefebvre" movement and related groups. In the center: the Catechism.
Do our Catholic bishops promote and teach Roman Catholicism, or something less?
Cafeteria Catholicism, i.e., Pick-And-Choose Catholicism, is rampant in America, thanks to many American Catholic bishops.

My "Education" at the Athenaeum Of Ohio LPMP (Lay Pastoral Minstry Program).
The Athenaeum Of Ohio LPMP program was the required pre-requisite for entry into the Deaconate program in Archbishop Daniel E. Pylarczyk's Cincinnati Archdiocese.
(Cafeteria Catholic 1)
The hidden dissident agenda in the Athenaeum of Ohio LPMP teaching.
The overriding dissident agenda of Liberal Catholicism appeared sometimes mostly in teaching material, sometimes in teachers themselves, sometimes in both.
(Cafeteria Catholic 2)
A better name for the LPMP's Formation for Discipleship class: Catholic Dissent.
The Athenaeum of Ohio LPMP course called Formation for Discipleship was one big long exercise in Catholic dissent, pure and simple.
(Cafeteria Catholic 3)
Moral Theology, Cincinnati Archdiocese style: This ain't your daddy's religion. Christian Ethics is the title of the course in the Athenaeum of Ohio LPMP course on Catholic Moral Theology.
(Cafeteria Catholic 4)
Athenaeum of Ohio LPMP Christology Course: NOT about the Christ Who Rose Again.
This theoretically Catholic Christology course teaches about a Christ Who didn't know who he was, didn't necessarily rise again after death, but Who "teaches us valuable lessons" nonetheless.
(Cafeteria Catholic 5)
Athenaeum courses consistently taught that the early Church condoned slavery.
This teaching is clearly false. Yet the Athenaeum of Ohio LPMP program, in multiple courses, officially taught that the Church "changed" its teaching on slavery.

Compromise with Evil begins the ultimate death spiral.
Compromise on any Vital Principle leads to death, for individual souls and for cultures.
On the Origin and Destiny of the American Catholic Identity Crisis. The ongoing 50+ year American Catholic identity crisis was born of a split between the Magisterium who protected it, and the academics who taught it.
Cafeteria Sinners: Selecting Mortal Sins from the Catholic Smorgasbord. Catholicism's Cafeteria Sinners pick and choose the mortal sins they will commit, and still participate in Eucharist.
Defining "Difficulty", "Doubt" and "Dissent" in Catholicism. Reactions to Doctrine(s) presenting difficulty, doubt and dissent among the faithful need examination.
"We belong to the Church militant; and She is militant because on earth the powers of darkness are ever restless to encompass Her destruction. Not only in the far-off centuries of the early Church, but down through the ages and in this our day, the enemies of God and Christian civilization make bold to attack the Creator’s supreme dominion and sacrosanct human rights.”--Pope Pius XII
"It is not lawful to take the things of others to give to the poor. It is a sin worthy of punishment, not an act deserving a reward, to give away what belongs to others."--St. Francis of Assisi
