Considering human societies and cultures, Religion is always the norm, or the normal basis underlying any distinct human culture.  It is religion that provides the external rule-set that everyone, or nearly everyone in the culture willingly embraces.  This external rule-set is held by the majority to be Objectively True, or, Natural Law, not made by man and not subject to man.  Something to be aligned with, and a way to live. 

Morality - a distinct culture's proper sense of right and wrong - is born of religion, and with religion, is an external, objectively true thing, not to be changed by man.  Morality, and its Religion, do not change, if the religion itself be true.  The morality of the religion forms the collective conscience of the whole culture, and this collective conscience of the culture is the basis for the establishment, legislation and ongoing development of representative civil law. 

Citizens who proactively oppose the collective conscience of the larger culture are "outliers" and exceptions to the norm.  These are the ones who may violate law and be imprisoned, or who violate lesser social norms and may shunned and avoided, and who may form various counter-cultures, gangs or sub-cultures apart from the larger normal society. 

True Religion "Civilizes" man.

Catholicism and Science are absolutely compatible.  Indeed, science was born of Catholicism.  Science and nature are absolutely compatible, because the God of Catholicism is the Author of Nature.  Whether anyone else believes that or not is irrelevant, because it is an Objective Truth, impervious to the works of man. 

The history of Western Civilization, built upon Judao-Christian Morality, proves the civilizing effects of True Religion.  Ever increasingly, it raised whole peoples out of barbarity and established peaceful social norms, citizen liberty and economic prosperity that became the envy of the whole world.  The United States of America epitomized the raising of human culture toward its greatest potential, by first liberating the individual man to allow him to reach his own greatest potential. 

The USA was the first to emulate True Religion by establishing a fixed and permanent Supreme Law (The Constitution) rather than a mere man to whom all would swear allegiance.  Men come and go, but the Law remains.  The USA is the first nation of Laws and not merely of men; all citizens stand equal before the law, with specific legal civil rights, and the law is designed to protect the citizen, not only from the lawless, but also from his own government. 

Just as, in True Religion, how obedience to Divine Will liberates man from all the enslaving temptations of the world, the American Constitution allows man to pursue his own worldly interests, liberated from the encumbrances of civil government.  By his own diligence and effort does he stand or fall; by his own adherence to his religion does he help his brother. 

The more American citizens adhere to their religion, and the more they adhere to their own Constitution, the stronger and more prosperous their nation will be.  But the reverse is also true.  Lack of adherence to their religion, or, lack of adherence to their Constitution, will lead inevitably to the destruction of the culture and the nation itself. 

The proper priorities of the American citizen are first to God, then Family, then Country.  It is our bound duty to serve God, serve the Family needs, and serve the Country, in that order.  If anything in our lives - anything at all - ever takes more attention, time and effort and/or predominates over those three priorities, they should be seen as a dangerous distractions from what is most important in this life.  Sports; entertainment; hobbies; whatever; you must give God His due, give your family its due and give your country its due, First. 

God shows how to live, family makes culture, country protects culture. 

Unbelief builds Nihilism; Nihilism builds Narcism; Narcisistic Selfism or Self Worship always opposes and seeks either to take control of or destroy Culture.

Unbelief begins the descent into nonsense.  It leads to the questioning of the existence of Objective Truth, which is to say, Reality Itself.  If there be no Objective Reality, there can be no Moral Absolutes, nor can there be any transcendent meaning in life itself.  The descent into Nihilism leads to the silly belief that morality itself is merely a social construct, a mere opinion of man, and that there is no such thing as an objective morality that all should voluntarily follow.  Life is meaningless, purposeless and pointless; there is no such thing as right and wrong, universally understood.  There is only pleasant, and unpleasant, in the eye of the beholder. 

Unbelief also feeds and grows Narcissism, particularly among those already afflicted with self-absorption.  The Narcissist is the vain and egotistical man, living only for himself, who seeks only self gratification, in every form of gratification that exists.  His universe has turned in on itself, and he makes himself the center of his universe.  No one and nothing else counts.  The Narcissist can even fall farther, into Machiavellianism, employing cunning, treachery, duplicity and deceit to advance his cultural position against all others, since he holds all others to be vastly inferior to himself, and even contemptible. 

Unbelief leaves a hole; an empty place in the heart.  Something will fill it.  Nature abhors a vacuum, and Satan is always standing by.  He who does not recognize God will first, most likely, worship himself, or the earth, or nature, without even discerning the Author of all.  And he thinks he is doing this on his own. 

When citizen unbelief grows within the larger culture to the point that unbelief becomes part of the culture itself, to that same point, the whole culture begins to worship itself.  The culture, or those driving it, or those vying for political power over it, becomes an entity unto itself, seeking self-governance, unrestrained by Constitution or other limitations.  The culture itself increasingly exists for the gratification of those in political control. 

Socially accepted Nihilism and Social Narcissism become more than an infection of the collective conscience; they become an important part of a Political Agenda, and they take control of Political Parties.  They begin to drive nations.  It isn't just Marxism that seeks eventual global dominance everywhere.  It is the original unbelief that gave birth to Marxism. 

Tracking the Rise of Self-Worshipping Culture.

The rise of Western Civilization and its civilizing effects on formerly pagan and barbaric cultures is still visible in its art, music and architecture, all over the world.  The great Churches and Cathedrals of Catholicism stand as epic witnesses to how Western Man revered God.  They are awesome structures, lifting man's spirit by the mere sight of them.  Waking into one of these magnificent constructions fills one with a sense of awe, quiet recognition of the Divine, and a hushed sense of coming into The Presence. 

Artistic paintings, icons and statuary of the period are among the most beautiful, globally recognized and valuable artifacts in existence today.  Gregorian Chant, and religious symphonies written by the likes of Beethoven, Mozart, Handel, Bach, Verdi and others are still played to this day, filling hearts to the brim and giving glory to God.  What we are talking about is what has become known as "Classical" architecture, art and music. 

The rise of popular or socially-acceptible Godless nihilism brought with it an architecture, art and music that was increasingly nonsensical.  Modern art is a reflection of nihilistic pointlessness and purposelessness in life itself.  In seeking to form a new culture out of a counter-culture the new architects, artists and musicians sought, and achieved, personal iconic status, as "idols", or little mini-gods, to their fans. 

That's the sort of thing that happens when the importance of God is lessened, and the importance of man's creativity is emphasized.  "Stars" are born, and idolized.  The art itself is glorified, even though it points to nothing transcendent.  So the glory goes back to the artist, as the new "Creator". 

They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I am certainly no big shot art critic.  But I wouldn't pay a nickle for any multi-million dollar Picasso abomination.  You would have to pay me to take it, and then I would put it out with the trash.  But the fact that such an ugly thing is valued to be worth millions by many if not most should give you a little warning about the trajectory of human culture. 

Who is driving the American Cultural Bus?

Godlessness, pointlessness and nihilism made its greatest advances in popular thought in the period between the great wars, with a big boost during the Spanish Civil War.  Marxism had become the great counter-culture intellectual fad, with its own two new opposing divisions of Marxist-Fascism and Marxist-Communism still trying to figure themselves and each other out.  The common denominator between the new Fascism and Communism was hatred for Marx's invented straw-dog villain, Capitalism.  And religion.  And institutions.  And authority.  And governments.  And order.  And everything. 

And none of these supposed intellectuals saw any problem with that. 

This is the nihilistic counter-culture thinking that gave rise to the "Beatniks", or the Beat Generation of the 1940s and '50s.  The first major wave of "drop outs" from the larger society, smoking dope, engaging in all socially unacceptable behaviors, including free sex.  A pointless existence, centering on "transcendence", self-awareness, finding themselves, and - the most popular term of the time - "Being".  And, producing what I call Screwball Art. 

This almost totally nihilistic, Marxist-dominated "Beatnik" counter culture is what gave rise to what was to follow in the 1960's and '70s.  The drugged no-hopers, psychedelic partiers, commune-building, free-sex Hippies, and the anarchistic, revolutionary, bomb-tossing Peace-niks.  None of them saw any of this as self destructive behavior.  It wasn't just the dope.  It was losing track of God, and the very reason for being. 

Well, guess what?  These free-sex Hippies and bomb-tossing Peace-niks have grown up, and they are now in charge.  They have even seriously infected the ecclesial order, as you can see in the Holy Evil article, among other places.  And they are now completely in charge of the whole government of the United States of America, as you can see in the Smiling Degenerates article, highlighting the absolute moral depravity of our current sitting government, which is operating not by our Constitution, but in accordance with Political Party Agendas. 

And those unconstitutional Political Party agendas oppose not only the Constitution, and not only the "Represented" citizenry.  They oppose God, and Nature, and Science.  Which is to say, they oppose Truth. 

Necessity of dividing-out, anathematizing and shunning.

I don't know how many times we've said that if you ever let Satan get on the bus, he will eventually wind up driving the bus.  Well, here we are.  It's our fault.  We believers have allowed it to happen.  We let him on the bus, and we allowed him to eventually take the driver's seat.  By failing to anathematize, shun or punish in any way unacceptable public behavior, we let it grow within our own once distinct and identifiable families, and within our own once distinct and identifiable culture. 

We have tolerated intolerance of us, until we are the ones no longer tolerated in our own culture.  We failed to anathematize sinners, and now sinners anathematize us, in our own culture.  In allowing and even blessing wild Diversity, we have diversified ourselves out of being a recognizable distinct culture.  We have allowed ourselves to be bamboozled out of exercising common sense and simple adult judgment by evil's demonization of Judgmentalism.  We have stood by and allowed our original civil right to equal treatment before the law to be illegally transformed into a multitude of invented civil rights to equality in everything.  We have allowed our original classless American society to be transformed into a ruled class beneath a ruling class, by way of an evil and bogus psychological and physical class warfare.  We have allowed ourselves to be tricked into believing all the lies wrapped up under the title of Social Justice, in which every minority is a victim, every existing service or product involves a new "civil right" of ownership, every physical thing is collectively owned. 

Because we failed to take care of these problems when they were small, they have become huge.  If parents fail to discipline misbehaving children, the children grow into misbehaving adults.  If the larger culture fails to discipline or set apart misbehaving families, the larger culture itself is increasingly infected with misbehavior.  If a nation welcomes into itself all sorts of aliens who have no love of the nation and no intention to assimilate into it, and hostile aliens, too, are granted special civil rights to their alien counter-culture here, then that nation seals its own doom as a sovereign nation.  The longer a discovered cancer is ignored, the greater the chance that it will metastasize and cause death.  As it is with individuals, so it is with families, and so it is with distinct human cultures, and so it is with nations. 

Radical, extreme, even violent Reversion may be required.

How, exactly, do we ever get back under our own Constitution and our own Representative Republican government, slowly, gradually, and peacefully? 

We don't. 

It's gone on too long, and things have gotten too bad, and the ability to peaceably get America back on track to her original design may now be long gone.  In all likelihood, America, as a Constitutional Republic, is now lost.  We have talked about Fixing America among those pages, and we have talked about getting out from under our the thumbs of all of our unconstitutional Administrative Bureaucracies, i.e., Soviets, in the Bureaucratic Spending pages. 

And, in these pages, we have talked about getting rid of our Political Parties, and breaking the power of the News Media and its unconstitutional assumed relationship with our government and our electoral process.  Do you see any Candidate other than Trump moving to do any of that, or even talking about it? 

That's funny, neither do I. 

We are only moving from bad to worse, or to different kinds of bad.  Not to good.  The only Republicrat Candidate out there who is talking tough both to the all powerful Marxist-dominated News Media and to the all powerful anti-Constitution Political Parties is the completely unprincipled Donald Trump, who may be just as much a narcissist as Comrade Obama, peace be upon him.  While Trump may be more interested in himself than in God, or family, or country, he is no Marxist, and he is no Moslem, although he is a potential Godless tyrant of another variety.  He is an admitted, braggadocios, Crony-Capitalist, admitting to buying and paying for politicians and political favors. 

Still, if he wins the nomination, I will vote for him over any Marxocrat and their Party and their News Media.  At least we will have another sort of unprincipled tyrannical leader to deal with for a change of pace.  If he destroys the News Media's political power, and/or if he destroys either or both major Political Parties, he will have accomplished more than the potential of any other current Candidate. 

All of them kowtow to the Marxist-dominated Media and allow them to unconstitutionally run and narrate and arrange and choreograph all political debates, and consistently ask challenging questions of Republicrats, and soft-ball questions of Marxocrats, and proactivley participate in the debates as if they were candidates themselves. 

The recent Megyn Kelly - Trump brouhaha was a good example.  Megyn stated that she was just properly "doing her job", challenging Trump about his public insults to the Leftist women who have been even more publicly and even more frequently crucifying him on stage, screen, air and internet.  How ever did attacking Trump's self defense get to be Megyn Kelly's proper job?  Where is that in the Constitution?  What the hell does she have to do with our government and candidates for high office?  Why is she even involved in the debates in any way at all, when, really, all that is needed is a set of rules and a time keeper? 

For star quality; that's why.  To be or become an icon.  To be famous. 

Bottom line, We The People are not going to get out of this mess by electing any candidate who promises to bring us back under our own Constitution, and then fails to even try to do that, election after election after election after election.  The rest of the candidates either cannot be trusted to keep their word, or, they are decent gentlemen steeped in gradualism, steady as she goes, let's not rock the boat too much but plot a slow course back to Constitutionalism. 

It's too late for that.  It would be wonderful in better times than these, but we are where we are, and gradualism or a gentle approach is not even going to slow the momentum of the opposition at this point.  It's time to take the gloves off, and there is only one slugger on our side in the contest, and that's Trump, God help us all. 

As much as I hate him, he may be our best shot at not immediately going under as a nation. 

Pray that another candidate will morph into an aggressive street fighter.

Vic, just today I left a comment on a news blog after a story that was about Trump upsetting the establishment Republican apple cart by using his tactics from his book "The Art of the Deal". Here is what I wrote:

I do not trust Donald Trump. There are more than a few conservative Christian Republican candidates who are far more qualified. If Trump makes it onto the ballot, I will not vote for him. If he makes onto the Republican ballot I will not vote, period.

I don't like or trust Trump either.  But the Marxist ideology that drives the Marxocrat Party, the News Media, Academia, Public Education, Entertainment, etc., etc., etc., is absolutely aimed at the elimination of America as a Constitutional Republic and a Sovereign Nation.  That is the major goal of Marxism in America. 

I won't vote for Trump in the Primary, but the way things look now, there is no guarantee he will not win the Primary.  And I would rather vote for an unprincipled narcissistic spoiled billionaire than a flat out declared enemy of our Constitution. 

Not voting only helps the enemy.

Vic, I don't like Trump either. I could name all the things about him I dislike but that would be pointless. I happen to agree with your article about how it's too late now for our country to be as the Constitution outlined in it's laws, and the media news cannot be trusted any longer and has to be either dissolved or newly formatted, if that is even possible. Now I think we are in a faith in God place in history. I believe that God has had it with us in America. From the early 1900's when the Bilderburg Group came to this country to make it into a Socialist country, the US has been steadily declining in everything that group is working for--moral decay, dependence on government, and the dumbing down of the people, denying God and dividing the people against each other. And this is where we are and nobody and no candidate is going to be effective. This is why it seems that the arrival of Ben Carson seems to a part of God's plan. But will the American people allow him to speak and will they hear his message on what needs to be done to save this country? This is it--the final chance and I don't think God is going to be very patient this time. If Carson gets elected, we'll see if it was God all along choosing him to work to get America back. If Trump gets elected we'll just experience more trouble as we have been.

As for voting,if Trump is running against Hillary,or Sanders, than I will vote for them. But I won't hold out much hope for this country. But sometimes I get this assurance or feeling that Carson will be our next President. So what should I do, deny my faith and vote like others for the strongest contender against the left, or go with my faith and strong belief in God or with the popular candidate?

I think that's the only thing you've said that I disagree with.  At least Trump's aim is not to destroy us.  Although, in the long run, he may contribute to our destruction. 

I agree with everything you say about Dr. Ben Carson.  The problem is, he is an old-time gentleman; a truly decent, Godly man, a healer, and a calmer voice in the midst of a storm.  In another time, he would be the excellent candidate; but these are not those times. 

What is called for now is a General Patton.  I just don't see Dr. Ben Carson fixing bayonets or getting down and dirty with brass knuckles.  And that is what his opposition is going to do.  The Marxified Press will treat him very gently until he wins the nomination, and then they will turn on him and show their support for anti-American Marxism, and help destroy him and his Constitutional America.  They've done it before and they'll do it again.  It's their job. 

I pray to God that you are right.  At the moment, he would be the best man for the job.  I just don't see him doing the gutsy things that need to be done to radically change us back to a Constitutional Republic again, let alone winning the election. 

The enemy is among us.  The enemy is everywhere now, in our families, in our Churches, in our work places, in our schools, in our bureaucracies, in our own government.  Everywhere. 

They won't be talked out of their position.  They won't be prayed into belief.  They won't be defeated with kid gloves. 

I love Ben Carson, but he is perhaps too kind and gentle for this battle.

Not true.  Man is created good, but with concupiscence, since the fall.  Temptation to sin is held in check by Christian belief in afterlife and judgment.  The religious moral law coincides perfectly with the natural law. 

America proved the point by being overwhelmingly populated by good citizenry for at least the first hundred years of her history, and becoming a world economic power the likes of which have never been seen in all of world history.  As we, as a people, become less religious, we become less moral, and as we become less moral, culture-rot ensues and we become a weaker and weaker nation, in all regards. 

It's being done on purpose.  See all "Breaking" pages among the Constitutional America pages.  We have to break the relationship between Marxism and all social institutions, especially our religious institutions.  It is sneaky, insidious, parasitic "Cultural Marxism" that is systematically making us, We The People, an ever increasingly immoral people.
